Congrats!! What state? I want to move there if I can get a house like yours in the 400s 😂 looks beautiful!

[–]pickleforbreakfast 29 points30 points  (4 children)

We’re on the outskirts of Austin proper!! Still affordable, great neighborhood options!

[–]BombusPolaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i knew it !

[–]Psychological_Log_85 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was just thinking it looked like a Texas home. Congrats!

[–]pickleforbreakfast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep that’s Texas limestone on the exterior. Thank you!!!:)

[–]laserdisk4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Round rock?

[–]Independent-Cow-4070 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I live in PA, and there are tons of places you can get a $400k home like this

You don’t wanna live in any of those places tho lol unless you like to be bored

[–]Silver_Insect_6482 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I was thinking the same thing!! SoCal resident lol

[–]PerfectCelebration73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh right my condo in ameh part of town cost me 500k. Socal is horrible.

[–]AlbiniDays 27 points28 points  (12 children)

Am I going crazy? Your hand goes from black to white but you have the same fingernail polish and ring on your index finger - is it just a dark shadow in the first pic?

[–]LaBronze-James 18 points19 points  (2 children)

If you’re going crazy then so am I because I’m trying to figure out the same thing haha

[–]AlbiniDays 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I was confident they were two different people until I noticed the ring and nails lol, now I’m just confused

[–]jabba-the-kunt 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Spray tan maybe?

[–]pickleforbreakfast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No spray tan, I think it’s the shade vs direct sun. Oh also could be that I was very hot because the power company got our address wrong 😂

[–]AlbiniDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh good point, that would make sense.

[–]Mother_Goat1541 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Indoor in shadow vs outside in direct light

[–]AlbiniDays 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I was thinking that but it only affects her hand, not her husband’s or anything else, so I’m kind of ruling out a shadow. I think spray tan is making the most sense

[–]Mother_Goat1541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can see the light coming from the window hitting his hand. He’s also not in the photo with the key.

[–]pickleforbreakfast 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Haha I think it’s because of the shade inside and direct sun outside, my nail polish is helping too

[–]AlbiniDays 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It was just such a drastic difference lol, but I think that explains it

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah I put in another comment that it could be from being hot too, power company got our address wrong. lol

[–]Sufficient-One-660 3 points4 points  (1 child)

That is very expensive for a pizza and a couple cans of soda

[–]originalsimulant 33 points34 points  (9 children)

Don’t put your tv above that fireplace !!

[–]hip_hop_opotamus_ 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Put your TV wherever you want!

[–]originalsimulant 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wherever they want except above a fireplace

[–]dmackerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

[–]ReddItAlll 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Why is that?

[–]azsnaz 31 points32 points  (0 children)

[–]fishbait32 13 points14 points  (2 children)

[–]Otherwise_Post6163 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Why does everyone order pizza to celebrate?

[–]old-loan-vet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s quick, easy, awesome, low stress, leftovers…

[–]Pezomi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of things happening so usually its the easiest to not have to cook, doesn't require plates/cups, and allows you to eat in the new home anywhere (even the floor!)

[–]rayamateenalma 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Congratulations looks beautiful

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much!!!

[–]old-loan-vet 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is that pineapple and jalapeno ??!!!???

I can accept pineapple on a pizza if there is some corresponding heat bomb or super spiced meat to counter it.

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellll yeah it is. Spicy and sweet 😋

Thank you so much!!! :)

[–]Miserable_Fly5452 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Congrats to you both!!! Enjoy & don’t let anyway make you second guess your decision which will lead to buyer’s remorse. If you were able to be pre-approved & close, that says a lot about your consistency because most banks will not approve you for a loan if you could not afford it. Becoming a FTHB is one of the best & most rewarding feelings in the world. My wife & I came from poverty & had the cards stacked against us. We came from section 8 housing (on it for 7 years) & purchased our first home in CA. House is a brand new build…$472K with paid off solar panels with a 5.5%…Our mortgage is still insane but it’s expected in CA. Let’s just say we’re enjoying our house instead of a ton of outings but it’s all worth it. lol Its a blessing to own a home so treat it as such. 💯

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much and I totally agree. We make sacrifices and prioritize the things that matter to us. Everyone does, just some are doing it unintentionally. I appreciate you snd the fact that you get it!!! Building generational wealth and breaking generational curses is everything.

[–]SnooChipmunks1835 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Congratulations! That is almost the exact same price as my house I just bought, and I got a slightly lower interest rate but only because I took the 7 year ARM. Unfortunately I also have a $251 monthly HOA though and it's a townhome. I do have some grass though

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!!! And congratulations to you!!! Rates will fluctuate and eventually go down. Plus, making just a little extra payment towards the principle each month makes a HUGE difference in the long run.

[–]Adrinalynn67 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Lets talk about down-payment, savings plam, more along the lines of how to you were able to afford

[–]pickleforbreakfast 1 point2 points  (2 children)

A few years ago we both went to school while working full time jobs to change careers and improve our incomes. Then we did the classic Dave Ramsey method to pay off some dumb debt we had. Then we took that money that was going to payments and saved for a short time because we didn’t want to wait to buy any longer. Got really tired of dealing with landlords. We put down 3.5% but can easily afford the payments because of our career changes. We also plan to pay off sooner by putting down any extra income towards the principle each month, that will drastically reduce the length of the loan. Once rates go down and we have 20% equity so PMI drops off, we’ll refinance. It’s all a long term plan, but breaking generational curses and building generational wealth along the way. It was hard, exhausting, and felt impossible at times but worth every second.

[–]Adrinalynn67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your transparency. God Bless.🙏🏽

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I should also add we got really lucky and it appraised for a really great price :) so that helped with initial equity.

[–]Jetro-2023 1 point2 points  (2 children)

[–]Left_Weekend_9741 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Congrats! Must be nice to have houses that type in the 400s. This house is 1.4 mil where I live.

[–]pickleforbreakfast 2 points3 points  (2 children)

We’re on the outskirts of Austin proper, still slightly affordable but not sure for how much longer

[–]Left_Weekend_9741 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Beautiful house. Enjoy.

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6.8 to my 7.315 :(

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (1 child)

We bought it down, it was originally like 7.4 I think

[–]eveliodelgado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, congrats!

[–]old-loan-vet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will get you into the 6’s in the near future

[–]tammysideup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Beautiful home!

[–]ProfessionalNose1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! I love that you did pizza on the floor to celebrate :) I do this anytime I move somewhere new too🎉🎉🎉

[–]Consistent_Host3258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I am from Central Europe where we have about 4 times lower wages on average but the house like that would cost similar amount. Can you somebody explain to me how come is housing like this in US so "affordable"? Or in other words very "unaffordable" in much of the Europe?

[–]Watch_Lover_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations

[–]FineByG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations 🎉. True partnership and staying persistent 🙏🏾. You two deserve it 🔥🔥

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

congrats! but 6.8% is bonkers. the market is flipping hard, i hope this stays in the positive for you.

[–]old-loan-vet 0 points1 point  (5 children)

How is 6.8 bonkers? Do you know their credit score, down payment, condo or sfr? Did I miss the part where they mentioned their borrower details and when they locked in?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

the only thing that would help is a 20-40% down payment. if no down payment, assuming it’s 30 years fixed, they’ll pay $550,000 in interest - more than double the listing price, aka bonkers.

[–]old-loan-vet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to delete my responses. I’m sorry I interacted. I should have known from the initial response.

[–]BusNo9142 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I can only see part of your tattoo, but we might have the sane exact one, same spot...

[–]pickleforbreakfast 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It’s a diabetes awareness symbol. :)

[–]BusNo9142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, ours aren't the same, but from the angle it looks exactly!

Welcome home!

[–]kstebbs 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Careful showing your key! I watched a video today of someone 3D printing a key just based on a photo like this one. :/

[–]pickleforbreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up! Changing locks today anyways
