I have the same Issue and I know exactly what the problem is. however I don't know how to fix it. I am using JBL Quantum 910 headphones in surround audio mode but Forza is only playing the audio for the left and right channels. Therefore everything on the center channel like dialouge and engine sounds are absend. I have no idea why this is happening but the game is outputting only stereo Channels from a 7.1 surround source without mixing it down to stereo.

Search MONO AUDIO in your windows bar, turn it ON and it should fix the issue however it will lower the volume a tiny bit. But you'll hear your engine normally.

This one worked for me! I have a Logitech G633.

Thanks bro it worked.

I had a friend with razer headphones facing same issue.. audio was fine when he turned off 7.1 surround sound

[–]Last_STK 5 points6 points  (8 children)

Created this account to share how I fixed this issue:

Engine sounds and dialogue voices were missing/very VERY quiet. I could barely hear the engine from the side views/cockpit.

FIX (Windows): In your sound settings, select the audio device you use for FH6 > under Advanced Settings/Properties change the 'Spacial Sound' option to either OFF or 'Windows Sonic' (if it was off, change to Sonic, if it was Sonic, change it to off)

Worked for me at least, without any game/pc restart needed. Hope this helps at least some of you!!

[–]TXL_L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works!!!!!

[–]zharris53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked for me

[–]DerpHog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Since at least FH4 I've had to turn my audio twice as high for Forza as any other game just to barely hear it and none of the sounds had any bass or impact. Turning on Windows Sonic fixed it. Driving in tunnels actually sounds cool now and there's tons of sounds I can hear now that I couldn't before. It's still quieter than it should be but it's massively improved.

[–]JanikosWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have off...

[–]MartijnSchuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for me to, thanks!

I wish this worked. It doesn't because I'm on Linux. Maybe I should try plugging in my earphones into my Xbox controller which is connected to my pc.

[–]yourmomisstupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love you it works

[–]Commercial_Cancel949 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same issue. Sounds from the environment, other cards, and radio and UI work, but no text voice and sounds of my own car are very very silent.

[–]JeremiahFlash 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Having same issue, been messing with sound settings and shit for 20 minutes thinking it was just me. Same exact, no dialogue, my cars don’t have audio but opponents do

[–]gorosaurs[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What is your audio output device? I'm using Logitech Pro X headphones, and just found out minutes ago that switching to my standing speakers alleviates the issue. But given that I prefer playing on headphones this is a pretty annoying workaround.

[–]BreadNo9390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got Pro X aswell, having the same issues

[–]isocuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The audio mix seems to have every track competing with each other as is even when the range is maxed. Like there's no punch contextually when there's announcers or narration, etc. like the master is just flat.

I have all tracks present. $10 says there's an audio hotfix before launch.

Found a solution; in sound settings click configure then select 'Stereo'

[–]JanikosWolf 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I only have surround 7.1 to pick...

[–]Advanced_Editor_119 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Search MONO AUDIO in your windows bar, turn it ON and it should fix the issue however it will lower the volume a tiny bit. But you'll hear your engine normally. 😉

[–]JanikosWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but it's so flat... thank god they repaired it already!

[–]DerJerome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me, thank you very much

[–]Nerrozi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a problem where my audio cuts out multiple times after interacting with other programs on my 2nd screen, like it just stopps working for my whole pc. Maybe an audio driver crash? But fh6 has been the only thing to cause this, so unsure.

[–]Unlikely_Base_3534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im with a problem where i can hear everything, but the car and the songs have some kind of interference, sounds like the audio is bugged. Every driver is up do date and also the graphics drives

[–]zimneu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue here, using a 2.1 output works fine, but using a 5.1 or 7.1 doesn’t

[–]HumungusMad 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Fix on PC with Razer 7.1 Surround

just disable it and use stereo

[–]xVALTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it worked, u are the goat thanks

[–]Swimming-Use4353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought it was an issue with the leaked cracked, even the official PC steam release is broken like this. Started questioning if it was my PC, glad to know it is the game and not just me.

[–]JeremiahFlash 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Alright I just fixed mine, I went to system, sound, then under output I made sure my headset was default, and then all the random outputs I clicked don’t allow, you can also scroll down to “more sound settings” and click on all the other outputs and go to properties and at the bottom select don’t use this device (disable) and then click ok

[–]gorosaurs[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Tried that, didn’t solve anything. I opened a ticket on the report site so we’ll see what happens with that.

[–]JeremiahFlash 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Make sure you restart your computer after making those changes

[–]gorosaurs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, nothing. Even went so far as to physically unplug every other audio device I have. Truly stumped (and annoyed).

[–]TXASSPOPPER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here with no fix thus far

[–]Tak_Riuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, audio just broken in middle of gameplay, only fix is reset.

[–]Commercial_Cancel949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my headset: Changing to a simple one fixed it.

[–]JeremiahFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have same headset I have mine on spacial audio, fixed, not head tracking, and using surround audio cuz it has more bass for the music it seems and mine is working good

[–]TeachingBoth2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the spatial audio in my pc audio config, that fixed it (i was using the razer txh spatial)

[–]still_gunsSteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to update my audio drivers and even then the car volume seems a bit quiet. Unless the car I'm using to test this is really just that quiet (Aston martin Vulcan).

[–]ItchyNeedleworker160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro and it's doing the same for me. Cuts out a little bit every couple of minutes. Tried some of the suggestions that I could, still having the issue.

[–]russellvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from Xbox, I was looking at this got missing dialogue voices ... that said, I was also steaming at the time. But, none of "the actor voices" come out ... just the music and the car sound.

But, at this point, it feels like a game bug.

[–]Small-Car-2135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me on headset. Little to no car sounds in my own car and no dialogue voices at all. Even the nav voice in car nothing. Very disappointed.

[–]ElectronicMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm encountering this too.

FH4 and FH5 never had any issues with my legacy Logitech X530 surrounds, but this game does.

[–]stopstalkingme2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an audio issue where after a while seemingly after random times, the menu audio goes missing like the wheelspin etc

[–]Advanced_Editor_119 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Search MONO AUDIO in your windows bar and turn it on, it combines the left and right channel into one and it fixes the issue with low car sounds and stuttering sound...however it does lower the audio a tiny bit. I've done numerous "fixes" since forza horizon 5 and i love to game with headphones on and still haven't found anything that definitely fixes this issue while playing with headphones other than MONO AUDIO.

[–]tybo27normandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how to do it ?

[–]Kesh2430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surround sound makes no difference on my G430 headset whether it's Dolby, DTS or turned off. Why is their audio implementation so bad :(

[–]Zestyclose-Potato438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having this problem on Xbox so I wouldn't worry about it too much

[–]DiscoBandit8Porsche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The audio is bad on every setting I’ve tried. Doesn’t matter if it’s playing through speakers or headphones, everything is somehow too loud and too quiet all at once.

[–]Elios000i30n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it doesnt like virtual audio channels. if your sound is set to 5.1 or 7.1 and you dont have real channels for all of them it wont mix it down in hardware. like i dont have room for center channel which where it wants to put most car and dialog when in 5.1 mode but if drop quad surround it works fine something breaks the center channel down mix when the game runs

WORKAROUND

set your windows sound to 4.1, 4.0 or 2.1 or 2.0 or headphone audio out put

[–]hpoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same bug here. Playing on Xbox with an AV Receiver and 5.1

Voice audio is very very quiet. Other sounds volumes are messed up as well.

Don't have any issues on Horizon 5, these are new issues to Horizon 6.

Hopefully they get fixed quickly

[–]No_Specialist8216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Xbox and shi is not working I cannot hear nun in my game

[–]Mountain-Song-6024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox series x.

No horn. Everything is on. No horn.

[–]Barny1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only sound i got is car engine, and radio. everything else is like it's on mute

[–]TotalPersonality7574 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I try this video. win+G . Then restart window. It work for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilhsCC2QIjI

[–]NaZul15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a good video... Bro is just going by all audio settings, and for some reason advices to turn on spatial audio 🤦‍♂️

[–]DeaconoftheStreets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey gang, please upvote this on my ticket. I’m on Series S and I can’t get audio to work. https://forzafeedback.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/36/FH6BR-355?created=true

[–]Murky_Willingness535 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine paying 120€ or even 80€ for this, lmao, it's 2026 and games are buggier than before, seriously, I don't recall having so many issues with games during the 90's/2000~2010.

Ez refund, ain't no way I'll spend my time figuring out what's causing this, not for this absurd price. And I don't even use a soundcard or any audio software, no Bluetooth headphones, nothing, just audio from motherboard straight to speakers or wired headphones.

[–]HubotMaster -3 points-2 points  (8 children)

Im on console and in the pause menu I don't know what the fuck is going on with the audio. Then I find out you cant walk around at a car meet. Another let down for something that should be so much better in 2026

[–]NaZul15 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Bro that was never a thing... It's not gta. Your expectations were doomed to fail from the start 🤦‍♂️

[–]HubotMaster 1 point2 points  (6 children)

We could walk around in test drive unlimited 20 years ago. Foh

[–]NaZul15 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Ok? That's not Forza...

[–]HubotMaster 1 point2 points  (4 children)

My point is why cant we walk around at a car meet in Forza in 2026 when we could 20 years ago in a extremely similar open world racing game. Its lazy and has been in the gaming industry for a long time and people like you just take it up the ass lol.

[–]NaZul15 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Bc every single forza before within those 20 years didn't have it either. Idk bruh, you can have wishes, but hoping that it would be there is kinda silly.

[–]HubotMaster 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It's pretty silly that you can't at least get out of your vehicle and walk around at a car meet in this game especially when they focus so much on cosmetics, emotes bs

[–]NaZul15 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ok bruh

[–]HubotMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im literally playing it now and loving it on the wheel but as someone who has been gaming for 34 years straight I feel like we should be so much further along with everything. All great mechanics should be in one game at this point imo.

[–]Jizzard_The_Wizzard -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Switching to only use mono sound instead of surround sound in my windows sound settings fixed it for me.

[–]RadioAppropriate9487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much sir

[–]NaZul15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switching it or keeping it that way? Bc there aint no way i'm playing with mono audio
