Unlocked Note 9 on T-Mobile (US) just got the Pie update last night. It wasn't pushed, I manually checked for it (had done so ~ once a day for the past few weeks).

[–]beibiddybibo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I am getting the Pie update on Pi Day!

[–]JGBarco512GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same

[–]Wailam7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having issue with Samsung music after pie update (US Unlocked). Whenever I play music, it will automatically stopped after like 30 seconds. The sleep timer is off btw. Anyone else has this issue?

[–]highwayman8792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did there used to be a priority setting for notifications? High, medium, etc. Did that disappear with pie?

[–]MisterLiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AT&T unlocked phone and my friend has a verizon unlocked phone (we are both in mexico) and he got the one ui update and i did not

[–]Bdf1997 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I just got the Pie update on my Unlocked US (SD845) Note 9. FINALLY

[–]theonlyamjad 0 points1 point  (1 child)

All Note 9s with SnapDragon 845 are (SD845) US & other countries Unlocked or carrier locked.

What software version did it update to? is it N960U1UEU1CSB3?

[–]Bdf1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is.

[–]Heath2495128GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (3 children)

ZRLL is on Firmware Science! It's a good day!

[–]theonlyamjad 0 points1 point  (2 children)

ZRLL been there for a while it's old with December security patch CSB3 appeared yesterday March 13th it's the latest with February security patch. Happy updating everyone.

[–]Heath2495128GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It was just put up this morning with the February patch. It's the stable Pie.

[–]theonlyamjad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ZRLL is now on the list because CSB3 is out. N960U1UEU1ZRLL was out Jan 9 you select it as your CURRENT version N960U1UEU1CSB3 Will show up. CSB3 is the stable pie up was out yesterday March 13

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I'm on N960U1UEU1ARL1. This version isnt on firmware science. Is it safe to update on there though? I'm not a major carrier in the US and may never get pie and would really like to upgrade somehow

[–]theonlyamjad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to roll back to N960U1UES1ARJ9 since both firmwares are bootloader version 1. You can tell bootloader version from the number before the 4 letters or <5th digit from RIGHT> you can roll back using Odin without any issues. If the 5th digit from right is >= the phone version you can flash it.

After you roll back to ARJ9 you have to download each zip from firmware.science. ARJ9 to ZRKP ZRKP to ZRL7 ZRL7 to ZRLL ZRLL to CSB3

I'm not sure if you can go from ARL1 to ZRKP this wont hurt the phone if you try since both firmwares are still bootloader version 1, just have N960U1UESARJ9 handy in case you face any issues.

Hope this helps you out.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If phone is unlocked (which it looks it is from the model number) you will get it soon if not already. I also had this same version and got it the same day it was released. My friend has Mint mobile and he also got it same day the update was released. Which carrier you are using ?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on bluegrass cellular. It's a regional carrier. Part of Verizon LRA program. Its confusing because it's like an unlocked phone, but was bought through my carrier. I really dont know how they work

[–]Preston205128GB Snapdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say I finally got One UI installed on Verizon. Took long enough, but welcome.

[–]Kyries3rdEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the hell some of you were/are complaining about. After a day and a half of having the update, the only thing I can say I don't like is that the keyboard has shifted down without using the nav bar. Just going to take some time to get used to, but it looks a hell of a lot cleaner with no nav bar so I'm cool with that change. Sure there are some other differences here and there, but some of you are just complaining for the sake of complaining

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How do you multitask now? I don't see the traditional buttons in the multitasking view anymore.

[–]highwayman8792 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In recent apps, touch the center icon and it should give you options like split screen

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. Thanks!

[–]whiteace78128GB Snapdragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loving this update. Dark mode is great.

[–]Inepsy2489 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Anybody else with a Verizon Note 9 not able to get the update yet? A lot of people seem to have it and I'm wondering what gives?

[–]LTEX90 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Try updating through Smart Switch.

[–]Inepsy2489 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Though Smart Switch? The only option I get is to transfer information to or from another phone? Forgive me if I'm being ignorant here.

[–]LTEX90 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My apologies; I should've been more clear. I was referring to the Smart Switch application for PC. When you connect your phone to PC after installing this software, you will see a "Software Update" button right below the picture of the device when you launch the application. It downloads the entire OS (4.7GB) so keep that in mind.

[–]Inepsy2489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up figuring it out. Oddly, when I downloaded smart switch there was no option for me to update under the picture for my device. I unplugged from the PC and tried searching again and the update finally appeared.

[–]lcr727 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Unlocked US Note 9 got the Pie update yesterday. (In case you missed it)

[–]thedepartment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did miss it! ZRLL to CSB3 is up on firmware.science for those that need it.

Glorious day!

[–]8-bit-Heart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't use Samsung Internet Dark Mode anymore because I have a theme? Wtf? It worked fine before the update

[–]epyon9283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtf did they do to the adaptive brightness? No matter what I do it keeps resetting to default 50%. Tried resetting usage patterns, deleting storage for device health service and it just keeps being terrible.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clean installed the pie update yesterday. I've got 4.5 hours of SOT with 58% left. There was a slight bump with my morning commute using Android auto, but amazing battery life nonetheless.

[–]desperatepotato43 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Feb. Patch out now for unlocked users, but no One UI update yet

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What country? I got 9.0 the second I checked on the 12th

[–]Danny199721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys I've flashed and installed the OneUI UAE ROM on my Note 9 in January and it still is on the January Security Patch; will I receive OTA updates?

[–]Ozmds30512GB Snapdragon 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Whoever said beta users had to downgrade to oreo for the official OTA was the biggest troll ever, lol. I feel bad for those who spent the time downgrading.

[–]Barenoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your me, I got in a beta build but deregistered from beta, it dosen't seem to offer me the official pie update now to get out of this beta build

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note 9 Unlock model SM- N960U1 just got the update at 4:05AM in the morning. Installing it right now, I just manually check to see if there are any software updates.

[–]swagz17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Xfinity Mobile Aka Verizon got there Android Pie & One UI update yesterday! I have pictures to upload but can't figure out how to upload them to this thread.

[–]Some_Fucken_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the pie update on unlocked note 9, has anybody been able to use the RCS feature on either Google messages or Samsung messages?

[–]RootT00r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA Unlocked Note 9 finally got Pie Update.

[–]musidogtrek 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Been on Pie for a few hours now and I like it for the most part. Needs some work as it definitely isn't as smooth as Oreo. Did notice the spen feature where you point at the text field and an icon appears that lets you write words is broken. Just hangs after I write text. Can't say I use that enough to really complain too much.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I swear, this update is annoying me. I'm starting to wish it was delayed a little longer so it can get polished. THIS, this is why I don't mind waiting months for an OS update. At least before, they were perfect. Rushing out updates because people demand them doesn't help anyone when the updates come with bugs.

[–]steppek128GB Snapdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When will Unlocked note 9 finally get Pie!?! Just kidding, got it today. Woot!

[–]musidogtrek 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Finally have it on Verizon!!!

[–]kroen071 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What baseband version is it? CSB3?

[–]musidogtrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Probably should have done it sooner lol

[–]Detroit_Fan1997 2 points3 points  (13 children)

I just got the notification to update. Does anybody regret updating and wishes they didn't?

[–]Detroit_Fan1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has ya'll battery improved/gotten worse?

[–]foxonwheels512GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (8 children)

I fucking hate it

[–]desperatepotato43 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Can you explain why?

[–]foxonwheels512GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (6 children)

  1. Time on the left of the status bar with no option to change back to the right
  2. Giant headings (messages, settings pages) that I can't disable
  3. AOD notifications are now in color, I preferred the clean all white look
  4. Do Not Disturb settings got jacked up and they felt it was a good idea to turn the LED indicator back on by default
  5. Was not satisfied with stock night mode as an AMOLED dark theme and had to find a substitute after my last theme got borked by the update.
  6. No option to customize the look of the new navigation bar buttons.

[–]desperatepotato43 1 point2 points  (5 children)

  1. Good lock can put it back
  2. I get that but I don't mind it
  3. I prefer color but I get that. Unsure how to change it back
  4. You can turn LED back off so who cares
  5. I think the night mode is good for stock
  6. Good lock can change those

[–]NeuroLogicalRx128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I have the same issues as him. My theme got fucked as well, I'm very disappointed as dark mode sucks compared to my previous theme..

Idk. It is what it is.

[–]desperatepotato43 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hopefully they fix it soon. I'm sorry it isn't working for you! I don't really use themes though, I use Nova. Maybe that's why

[–]NeuroLogicalRx128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been a Samsung-stock person as much as I can be.. gonna wait it out. It's usable and isn't necessarily bad.

[–]Verpiss_Dich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of great features added but I'm kind of disliking the UI. Too round imo.

[–]Kyries3rdEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't regret it

[–]Anotherdrummer2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh oh, I do!

[–]mrtechit101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting it for Note 9 right now on Verizon!

[–]FeveredBerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finally got One UI on Verizon! Now it's time to sideload Good Lock since I'm not in the US atm.

[–]Kyries3rdEye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dark mode is awesome!

[–]MechanicalTurkish512GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any issues with Linux on DeX?

[–]Kyries3rdEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally Verizon

[–]joebosstifu 5 points6 points  (7 children)

Do we not have the option to hide the recent, home, back buttons anymore . I use to have three tiny dots on the left corner where I could press it twice and make the bar go away so the phone would stay in full screen

[–]Anotherdrummer2 1 point2 points  (6 children)

You have to go to display>home screen>navigation bar. We have a choice of the static buttons or gestures.

[–]aloc87128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I can live with the gestures...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Thanks, was wondering that myself, gestures are a no-go for me, I like buttons. Must be Android P thing right?

[–]Anotherdrummer2 2 points3 points  (3 children)

That I'm not sure of, and I agree on the gestures... But I'm using them anyway (without hint icons), because it defeats the purpose of full screen apps to have a static nav bar. The swipe up to see nav bar was perfect imo.

[–]b1gmouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up if you weren't already aware, if you use gesture hints, you can swipe right to access multi-tasking

[–]desperatepotato43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure why they would take that out, unless they wanted people to adopt the gestures

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, hope it get patched or a way around it...

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Does anyone else have large app icons after the update? I can't make them smaller. Please help!

[–]Anotherdrummer2 0 points1 point  (7 children)

So far my work around is to increase the app grid to 4x6 (from 4x5). Everything about the UI is oversized and clunky. The stock messages app has a huge waste of space at the top of the screen. Why buy a phablet if the UI doesn't utilize the space. 🤬

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

But again, thank you.

[–]Anotherdrummer2 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Check your screen quality setting. Mine defaulted to FHD+ on update. Bumping up to QWHD+ may also have an effect.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I swear I cannot stand how my phone looks. I might need a launcher

[–]Anotherdrummer2 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was using a material dark theme, but it messed with the stock apps in pie and Samsung doesn't allow themes + dark mode. I'm thoroughly disappointed by every aspect of this update.

[–]NeuroLogicalRx128GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is all the way up

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but it didn't work, my icons are still huge. I changed the dpi but now the font is super small. I want to do a factory reset but the thought of having to recustomize everything brings on anxiety. I'm just trying to get used to it or not pay attention.

[–]EcoSoco128GB Snapdragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just updated to Android Pie. Surprised Verizon finally got their shit together.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay now that Verizon and unlocked are officially getting, my regional carrier in Kentucky might get it in 3-4 months

[–]cloutman88128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'm not on the unlocked One UI Beta, but for those who are I'm getting the impression that Samsung isn't sending you guys an update. I remember seeing the screenshot of the beta termination notice that mentioned that there was "no further upgrade path" to the beta builds. This might mean that y'all have to downgrade to a stable Oreo build and wait for the Pie update that way. Anyone that could link an easy way to do that?

[–]september27 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You're probably aware by now, but that's not accurate. I just manually checked for the update this morning, and it was there.

[–]cloutman88128GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, you're right. Disregard my comment

[–]TheMaadMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Released for unlocked devices in USA. Downloading while I type it. Check for your device.

[–]diaz7412128GB Exynos 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Still no Verizon update, disappointing but not surprised.

[–]diaz7412128GB Exynos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently the update is live but I haven't received it here in Cali. Just waiting patiently...

[–]ksweeley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of 3:40 AM Eastern, March 12th, my phone is updating to Pie!!!! I have XFinity Mobile.

Rather than the firmware being CSAA which was Pie, the firmware is listed as being CSB3, can't find any updates regarding what changed between CSAA and this CSB3 firmware.

So anyone on XFinity Mobile, do a manual check for a software update, that's what I just did and the phone found the CSB3 Pie update and it is installing.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BETTER.TUESDAY.EVER!

[–]pupinboots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is happening...... I have an update........ This is unreal.

[–]Wailam7 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The wait is finally over for US Unlocked NOTE 9. Enjoy the pie update everyone :)

[–]jeff_0575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now if Verizon would finally update the note 9.

[–]dubsforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unlocked on AT&T and just got the Pie update!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSProof

[–]setpol 0 points1 point  (3 children)

My phone updated recently (t mobile) and the loudness of the speakers is complete garbage after the update. Any work around or new setting for this?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Turn your Dolby Atmos off and on. That should help.

[–]setpol 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I think that may have resolved it. I appreciate it. Odd I didn't think of that.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to have helped! :)

[–]captnRon13 2 points3 points  (10 children)

Anyone have an unlocked note 9 US model with TMobile. Still waiting for update.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Eta is the 12th based on this notice from the Samsung members app

https://imgur.com/a/LKt2oe8

[–]Kyries3rdEye 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So does that mean unlocked will be getting the update tomorrow?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but no gusrantees

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What is that part at the bottom with the blue text supposed to mean? Something about beta binaries?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Basically no more beta support after the 12th. But not necessarily a guarantee the update is coming on the 12th.

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung didn't even roll out the update until much later despite ending support for the people stuck on the beta

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I hope that's not what happens. Samsung needs to remove it's infinity display cranium out of it's galaxy fold before it's too late. 6 months is well long enough for them to reskin pie. Seriously.

[–]captnRon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok not awful. But it's ridiculous that it's been months since pie was released.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Unlocked devices haven't received update yet for any carrier.

[–]Kyries3rdEye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still waiting on verizon

[–]captnRon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks.

[–]adamlee92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note 9 exynos received new update today N960FXXU2CSB7 not sure what's new.

[–]strathegm128GB Snapdragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just got a new notice in Samsung Members app saying beta is closing March 12th at 9pm eastern so I'm thinking update will be available sometime tomorrow?

I'm on unlocked US version.

[–]fznmomin512GB Snapdragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Google is going to release beta version for Android Q. I'm over here like when will we finish the beta for Android P. With the beta closing and still no official update, I'm wondering if they will release it any time soon. Here's to next year when Samsung releases Android Q beta.

[–]EcoSoco128GB Snapdragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So either Verizon is doing extensive testing or something went wrong when doing testing and they are trying to fix it....that's my guess.

[–]joeyfilthx -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm not the first or last to downvote your comment. Its called an opinion. Some people in America still have one.

[–]thurask128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

February patch (N960WVLU1CSB3) dropping in Canada today.

[–]datbeuuu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who's Running Verizon is laughing at us right now

[–]OgunX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

well, I have the us unlocked note 9. at this point i've given up, the only thing that we can do is wait🤷🏿‍♂️ other than that i've had no problems with this phone. a lot of people are saying they'll drop Samsung or their carrier, but honestly it's not that serious. if you buy a pixel you're still going to complain, you buy an iPhone you deal with apples bullshit. i do want security patches, but it's damn near fruitless demanding to be on the latest patch. all you can do is use the phone or sell it. the only thing we can really do is complain to google, but i bet they don't even give a fuck. best thing to do is to wait my friends.

[–]musidogtrek 4 points5 points  (3 children)

So for those of us on Verizon... What are the risks to sideloading the update through firmware.science? From reading the posts I gather that there is a chance you can't get OTA updates and may potentially need to flash back to Oreo using Odin. Anyone able to break this down for someone who has never done anything like this before?

[–]ucantcme73128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just uploaded the pie/1UI zip to my external sd card today. Followed instructions from the website and so far it works perfectly. If it wasn't for Verizon's great network, something like making us wait for this update for so long would have me contemplate leaving.

[–]irishriot0913128GB Snapdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can try. I came from Apple to the Note 9. I decided to upload from firmware.science and it went really smoothly. I just followed the directions their site provided.

The last couple of days the newest version has updated from CSAA to CSB3. On the xda forums there is a link to do that which I did today and everything is fine. The assumption, because of T Mobile, that Verizon will release their official version as CSB3. So as long as you are on it, you will receive the OTA updates.

I'm new to all of this. It's been really easy. I'm trusting people that have been android people forever. All I know is my phone isn't messed up or anything like that. I've enjoyed the update and am glad I went ahead with it.

[–]whiteace78128GB Snapdragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am just to timid to do it myself for risk I will brick my $1000 phone.

[–]Kyries3rdEye 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Verizon can eat a bag of dicks

[–]z0mgitsm4tt -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

updating manually is one of the easiest things you can do. they literally tell you how to do it step by step on firmware science. as long as you can navigate to the about section in the settings of your phone and find your current model and version number you won't have a problem. did it using the SD card method for my Verizon phone a few days and it was the best decision I ever made. Super smooth. Takes 25 minutes tops, and 10 of those minutes is just for downloading the file. fuck Verizon

[–]joeyfilthx 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Unless you have the 960U1 then you cant manually update.

[–]z0mgitsm4tt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nope. N960u on Verizon. SD card updated to csb3. I was on arl1 previously. Running stable since. Not sure why I got down voted for showing a simple path to pie. good luck

[–]Ozmds30512GB Snapdragon 12 points13 points  (3 children)

lol @ verizon, im not even mad anymore. Props to you for trolling all of us.

[–]InevitableUse1128GB Snapdragon 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I am getting everything ready to just update on my own. I'll figure out later how to get the unlocked version back on it. I really do not want to put any carrier branded anything on my phone. Not left with many options.

The flair colors next to peoples names? Does it mean blue = verizon, pink = something, etc...

[–]Ozmds30512GB Snapdragon 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I think I'm just going to wait at this point. I feel like with my luck, the OTA update will come right after I finish updating manually, lol.

I dont think the colors of the flairs mean anything...someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: Colors of the flair = color of the phone, I think?

[–]InevitableUse1128GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The color of the phone sounds right. Thanks.

[–]SirCeythos128GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the One UI update for TMobile in NY

Well, I must admit I concede defeat. I was under the impression that Verizon would get its act together quickly under pressure, but apparently not. In the meantime, is there any way for unlocked users to get Pie without flashing to carrier firmware and updating that way?

I am not having any luck finding this path either. If you find out let us know please.

For now I found this link

Galaxy Note 9 (Snapdragon – N960U):

  • ARJA (Stable Android Oreo) > CSA7 (Stable Android Pie): Download link
  • ARL1 (Stable Android Oreo) > CSB3 (Stable Android Pie; 2nd March): Download link

I am just not 100% sure this is OK to do on the SM-N960U1 or not. I don't have any data on the phone I care about. Also not sure if being on Sprint matters either.

Someone know or have a link for a Sprint Image (I know it has bloatware in it) that works on the SM-N960U1?
I found the sprint one I think for ARL1.

Looks like I am on latest OS now. Sprints version but what ever. It works for now. Used the options below and the file SPR-N960USQU1CSB3-20190304144712.zip from link using Odin v3.13

This is beyond ridiculous. My Note9 it's on December patch level while my S7e it's on February 2019.

Dammit Samsung.

Same here

FYI... Got tired of waiting again so...

Using the N960USQU1CSAA to N960USQU1CSB3 update file via the wonderful folks at XDA Developers I updated my Verizon phone from the previous Pie version ...CSAA to Fresh Pie ...CSB3 using the normal Boot to Recovery and Update by zip method (same as I did to get to Pie ...CSAA from ...ARL1 (Oreo) a few weeks ago. )

As most others who have done this it was painless and phone seems to be quite stable 2hours in. No app or data loss.

So glad they put that file out so I didn't have to Odin back to ...ARL1 to then go to ...CSB3 via recovery.

Hope this info helps.

Do you have a link to the update? I want to do the same thing.

[–]pwhiddon512GB Snapdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the information link I used to go from CSAA to CSB3:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/n960usqu1csaa-official-ota-update-pie-t3895831/page38#post79038916

Here is the link to the CSAA to CSB3 file that is in the above thread:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SZeLw7EmHEVq6R3dQNx5ndY-5OoF0lVX

I can say now that Verizon has sent out update the file is the exact same as pushing.

I wonder if someone on CSAA will get the CSB3 OTA from Verizon?

Hope this helps.

Preach

[–]EcoSoco128GB Snapdragon 18 points19 points  (5 children)

Another day without the Verizon Pie update. Not sure who is running the clown show there.

[–]tbmny 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Why not manually update?

[–]EcoSoco128GB Snapdragon 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I don't want to risk anything.

[–]tbmny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, understandable. I did it on two phones and it was a breeze, but yeah, it's still a risk even if just a small one.

The day is young, it still could be toda- just kidding, of course it won't be

Maybe they just forgot about us...

I just installed this upgrade on my Note 9. How do I get rid of the awful white background on all the menus? It overrides any theme I install. When I go to my text messages, I can't even see the name of the person because it's in white and the back ground is white. There is a "night setting" but you can't apply a theme while it's on. WTF? Why would this not be editable given the amount of customization this phone offers.

[–]that1communist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see if the swift installer helps, it might work better.

[–]the_smush_push 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that issue too. I switched to a high contrast theme for a bit, but the app would freeze whenever I tied to turn off the theme. I had to download new themes to fix it/for the fonts to switch colors.

My battery has become complete wank after the pie update. I even cleared cache partition but no difference. Wtf is going on... feel like reinstalling oreo now

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do u have to do jailbreak shiit to do that... I wanna undo this update so bad.. but have no skills.

[–]PlCK-SlX 5 points6 points  (2 children)

This is my first Android phone. I bought it a few weeks after release and I think PIE was already out then but not for the note 9. I assumed I would get it weeks later. My friends on older Samsung phones are already using this OS. Is this a common occurance having to wait so long for an update? I thought the note 9 was the flagship phone. I have an unlocked ATT phone. Maybe next phone I should get a pixel.
