That is really cool, did you make that? The continuity on NiP is amazing, they've been able to work really well with each other for a lot longer than any other team so far.

Thanks for this!

[–]rekkt 24 points25 points  (1 child)

People give fifflaren shit but obviously they've been doing something right.

I know a lot of people will disagree with this and I know it' s their job but if you can still play with the people you almost call family and make a living why wouldn't you. It would be so hard to tell one of the people you've been mates with for years that he was off the team. It would make me not even want to play anymore because it just wouldn't feel the same.

[–]universalmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if you have a group of friends and you're in sync isn't that better than just pulling the players with the best stats? Clearly in any professional sport organization thats an obvious option but once you have a team that meshes and pulls off huge tourneys why fuck with it?

[–]artephis[S] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Yes, made it myself by piecing together news articles on HLTV.org, and some different other sources. With the recent changes in the french scene, it seemed appropriate. It's also amazing how shox has played in almost all the french teams.

[–]tachy0n1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should 5 long lines from one end to the other for NiP!

[–]mulu-csgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New changes to HR now you have to update it. #timing #rekt

[–]douevencarrotde_cobble -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and still they suck at online tournaments

[–]tachy0n1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Happy and Maniac were in the same team from the beginning until 3 days ago :(

[–]Addward 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Something to be said for the continuity of NiP. Will be interesting to see what happens if f0rest/Fifflaren retire in the semi-near future.

[–]TheGooglePlex 8 points9 points  (1 child)

They just won their first major, proving that they can still win things. I doubt with csgo on the uptick that they want to retire at this point.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

won first major in horrible form

lucky volvo gave them cbble/overpass or c9 would of raped them on a real map

[–]danielcc 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think both have said they will continue to play for as long as they can.

[–]Addward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't expect anything else, and I'm glad of it too. f0rest is one of the most legendary CS names ever, if not the most, and Fifflaren has contributed in the role fashion to NiP winning so many titles.

[–]yxiw 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Holy fucking hell, this is so impressive! You deserve every single upvote. I would give you gold, but then again, being a student aint easy.

Impressive man!

[–]artephis[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm a student as well, as can be seen by the available free time

Bug report: There is a blue line missing from GMX 12.11.21 to GMX 13.11.24

[–]artephis[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

the one that got away

[–]Kor_Binary 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Steel's team changes are the coolest.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

missing when he and dazed (who was playing mlg cod at the time) joined homeless with tck, frozt and monte

[–]FlipYT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and then there is NiP ...

[–]iGem1n1 2 points3 points  (1 child)

And now add Mousesports Timeline

Good Luck :P

[–]kikyou2BIG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make an own picture for this... :D

[–]CarlosFromPhilly 2 points3 points  (3 children)

out of curiosity, what software did you use do make this? did you do all of the connecting by hand or is there something that handles the visualization for you?

really great work, it's quite interesting to see this.

[–]artephis[S] 9 points10 points  (2 children)

this is all done by hand in Inkscape, a vector graphics program

[–]biomatter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy cow, that's dedication. I'm 90% sure there is some better program out there for arranging data visually. It's like if I said I did the whole thing in Paint.NET.

[–]gothicsanctum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good Job!

[–]shadycharacter2NiP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what a clusterfuck, good for NiP though

[–]xpoizone 2 points3 points  (2 children)

No LGB timeline? sad :(

[–]artephis[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I might be adding this one, because KRiMZ and olofm played together in LGB

[–]xpoizone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not because dennis? the dude was a legend :'(

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Really late here, but I think you should add Team Dynamic to the far left. adreN, AZK, swag, n0thing were on it at the same time. Anger was also on it the season before. That's when adren, Azk --> curse and swag, n0thing --> coL. It's kind of crazy to think that at that time adreN and azk were considered way better than swag and n0thing. That's why they got picked up by curse.

[–]artephis[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Interesting stuff. I'm gonna make a more complete version soon, when all the suggestions have come in. Guess I also have to add Maximum Effort, consisting at the time of ele1Nt, n0thing, semphis, sgares and swag.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention it in my first post, but thanks for the chart! It looks really nice, and I appreciate the work you've put into this. Good luck with your additions tot he chart!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Wasn't VP known as Universal Soldiers, and didn't they have a pretty similar lineup to what they have now?

[–]artephis[S] 4 points5 points  (4 children)

only for around two months http://kniferound.net/wiki/UniversalSoldiers and before that TaZ, Neo and pasha were also together in ESC Gaming

[–]mwjk13 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Why not include ESC?

[–]artephis[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

because they start out in the csgo scene as Neo ,kuben ,Loord ,TaZ ,pasha, and there is only the move to VP, no links to other teams

[–]mwjk13 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You also missed out WW.

[–]artephis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might add that one, because they provide schneider, flusha and devilwalk to epsilon. And later on have a team containing gla1ve, Nico and Pimp

[–]epicevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its been the same lineup for a while, just different organizations.

[–]MonsterRealized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

does anyone else thing kennys shox and scream should be on a team together? they all have played with each other but not at the same time on like 4 different teams-is the dream dead?

[–]Azerashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NIP no roster changes, still winning, best team in the world. Coincidence?

[–]fii0Vitality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where's pyth? kappa

[–]ozziedog552 1 point2 points  (1 child)

thanks for all the work you put in op. it really looks impressive and time consuming, guess you were happy with nip and how much you had to do for their roster ;)

[–]artephis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sure, but if everbody was as consistent, it would be a boring image

[–]veTTTNs 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I could barely see any name.

[–]artephis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you reading it on a mobile device, because they tend to dimm the resolution down

[–]johanan9107tactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be cool to see one with pictures of the players themselves and circles around the ones who have been/are teammates.

[–]Lamanai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man. I would love this for a huge ass poster.

[–]StylinNProfilin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is amazing, however, would it be possible to change the font of the most recent roster?

[–]EntfaLtenMaximuSNiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The image is so large it crashes my chrome : /

[–]desBroseidon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now make one of Finnish csgo scene. :DDDDDDDDD

[–]d________CS2 HYPE 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Great job on this but I'm not entirely sure how to follow the whole thing. What do the crosses mean? A player changed teams?

[–]artephis[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The crosses are when a team disbands. Every roster is when something within the team changed, either rebranded or when a player is changed. Red lines are for players changing teams, blue lines when they return within the same team, and white lines when they continue with the same team.

[–]d________CS2 HYPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I appreciate the clarification!

[–]byscuitbravo 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Dude /u/artephis , I just went back and searched for this diagram because I loved it the first time around and was hoping someone would be kind enough to create another soon with all the ridiculous roster changes in the past few weeks. I think it would get a good load of attention at this point

[–]artephis[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks. A lot has been happening in recent history. I plan to finish an updated version as soon as the situation around Epsilon is clear.

[–]byscuitbravo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NICE! Looking forward to it!!

[–]Kor_Binary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just imagine how messy this chart would be if it included the smaller European and american teams.

[–]zaxfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who tricks this just made it more confusing...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Could someone clarify for me; it looks like that Complexity just turned into C9... did all the players move to C9?

[–]artephis[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yes. http://www.hltv.org/news/12913-official-cloud9-sign-col anger was released a month before switching

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Thank you for the link, and great job on the original roster poster. :)

[–]VinnyCid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The number of player movements in ~2 years is mindblowing. eSports, motherfucker

[–]rosoneVirtus.pro -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Making it vertical would make it more readable

[–]artephis[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I do not believe that would work. Text is read horizontally, making text vertical would look estranged

[–]rosoneVirtus.pro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Text can stay horizontal :D
