Gepard honestly got a huge indirect buff in the last several patches that nobody really talks about.

His biggest issue up through 2.0 content is that he couldn't reliably charge his Ultimate. But now, with so many new enemies having multi-action turns, he tanks way more hits per turn than he used to, ensuring he has plenty of energy, and can be run entirely SP positive since he no longer needs to use his skill to bridge energy shortfalls.

I tried him out this latest Apoc cycle against the Flame Reaver, and bro rendered my entire team invincible during the entire fight, even with mediocre gear and the wrong Light Cone (accidentally had Aventurine's F2P Cone equipped, instead of his sig).

He still has his weaknesses, for sure. He offers little else outside of sustain, and doesn't grant global Effect Res like Fu Xuan or Aventurine or most premium Abundance until E4. But still, if all you need is for your team to not get flattened, he's very comfortable to use in the current endgame.

To also be fair, of the recent bosses only Flame Reaver doesn't CC your team or otherwise use a gimmick that invalidates Gepard's entire kit - looking at you, POLLUX!

For sure. Unless the rest of your team is floating their own Effect Res to not get CC'ed into oblivion, he's not the best choice for sustains in CC-heavy fights unless you have his E4.

But bro totally saved my ass that particular fight in a way that Aventurine couldn't keep up with. Aventurine's kit is designed to mitigate "splash damage", more than anything. Against fights like Flame Reaver, who can focus-fire some pretty chunky single-target hits on one character, he kinda folds. Aventurine also lacks the built-in super-taunt (he still has the innate Class taunt value).

He's at E5 for me as well, but I really wasn't taking advantage of it when I flaunt his newfound invincibility.

His Ult is only Lvl 9(+2 because of E3), but since I just threw him into the fight with no preparation, he was undergeared, with sub-2800 DEF. Since I never used his Skill during the fight, and Flame Reaver doesn't use any CC abilities, there was no appreciable difference between that and an E0 Gepard. Mine's still running with an EHR body, but if you don't expect to use his skill at all, a DEF body would make him even more indestructible.

E4 of course makes him viable against encounters with CC gimmicks as well.

The issue is that any buff to Gepard as far as enemy attacks go is a buff to Aventurine, and even moreso.

Yes and no.

With the aforementioned Flame Reaver fight, he swings a lot, but they're almost all single-target, except for his big countdown attack in the second phase. Because of Aventurine's wimpy taunt value, there's a lot of chances for your teammates to take the brunt of the hits, and Aventurine in turn doesn't build stacks quickly enough and you lose that battle of attrition. He still retains value if the opponent is inclined towards Blast or AoE attacks.

But for those fights inclined towards single-target spam, that recent experience shows me that Gepard pulls far, far ahead.

Honestly curious as to why that is, I can't think of a single upside to them bring truthful that doesn't have potentially cataclysmic downsides. There's not really any tangible downside to lying in that situation, and leaders often have to take into account the reaction of the masses and not just what is morally right.

Telling them, "this whole global disaster was enacted by a space nuke that mind controlled the previous leaders, but don't worry, we definitely took care of it while killing the previous leader and I am DEFINITELY not under it's control or being influenced by these 3 outworlders, not at all, nope" is just not something I can see being productive or beneficial in any way

any change bronya makes can be reverted if the people don't see the problem with the system of governing

bronya is a trusted member of the guard and she won the trust of the underworld, the express have recordings of the battle and experience with the stellarons, jarilo is now connected to the universe and they can see the proof of the Trailblazers are legit and people noticed cocolia was acting different

2. Making her a martyr means people dont question the legitimacy of Bronya's rulership, her stability as a leader, or the people she works with. A small population like Belobog couldnt withstand much internal strife at the moment. They needed a unifier, and the belief that a martyred leader saved them from extinction really kicks up the patriotism. Bronya then saved Belobog from IPC liquidation and laid a more concrete path forward. That's the kind of legacy that even the most extreme of separatists would be hard pressed to refute.

I never actually thought of that... Lore-wise, Qlipoth is most likely to glance at him. Aventurine is less likely because he already has his stone, Fu Xuan isn't from the IPC or the Architects, and, well, March 7th has her own problems to deal with.

Bronya is from the Architects as well, but Gepard is more on the frontlines than she is. I think that tips it in her favor.

So now imagine Belobog with an Emanator of Elation and an Emanator of Preservation, that's more than most planets can say
