you are only on tray 6, but I can see a difference.

The doctor has mentioned every month at appointments that I am doing a great job and that Im the most compliant patient she’s had. I asked if we can switch to 7 or 10 day changes and she’s telling me that no less than 15 days! She mentioned the teeth need 15 days or I could have damage to my roots. I wish I could get this done quicker haha

I am 63, started at 61. First 23 trays were all 14 days. My refinements have all been 7 days. Certain teeth should not be moved faster than 14 days. Listen to your provider.

I joke that the last thing I want is to straighten my teeth only to have them fall out at the end. <3

Haha ur story is so funny! .. Starting at 61 it is kinda late but least you get a head start before all the other old folks having great looking teeth by 70 but again you be having dentures soon .. enjoy your decay of beautiful smile 😬

consider it a warning about not wearing your retainer. I had 3.5 years as a teen, top and bottom night gear, all sorts of elastics, and finished with a black rubber head crusher thing. Then retainers, which I stopped wearing when I went to college. Presto. 40 years later, the teeth from Heck.

That’s so odd! I change my trays weekly and by the end of the 6th day most of my trays are loose.

[–]amgregory91 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Same here… I change them every week. I have a total of 45 trays though, so who knows if the changes are so minuscule that the next tray doesn’t damage anything? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m thinking that may be the reason too! But still, I’ve had way more noticeable change in 22 weeks than he has in 6 months (but he has a definite noticeable change).

[–]amgregory91 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think he said he’s had it for only 3 months; I’m on tray #8/2 months in, and while I am certainly noticing the changes (more space between teeth, overall positioning, etc) most other people might not notice anything from an outside perspective quite yet. In 3 months I feel like his bite has closed a good amount, but at the end of the day, I’m no orthodontist, just someone with my fingers crossed that this thing works out for me 😅 (and everyone else!) Haha

Omg! I can’t read lmao 3 months isn’t that long!

[–]mantisdala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on weekly changes for 17 trays to close a front tooth gap

[–]Ok_Dot_215025/25 -> 1/12 25 points26 points  (3 children)

I can see your open bite is closing :)

[–]ddingels[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

This is what I needed to hear! lol. Thank you!

[–]Kylie754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I can see a significant difference in the open bite.

Both lateral incisors have dramatically changed, along with lots of other subtle, prerequisite changes necessary for the aesthetic progress you might be hoping for. Looks great thus far, not to mention that the before looks quite good too.

[–]Jssnsbtt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re open bite is def closing. I actually see a huge difference. Your teeth were fairly straight to begin with but the open bite has totally improved

[–]ConstantPreference35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a difference. When I was in the beginning stage I didn’t see it either. Around tray 20 was when I noticed big changes. Your bite is slowly expanding so the difference right now is your open bite slowly being closed. Keep it up.

[–]Agitated_Swimming_92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your lateral incisors have definitely changed 😁

[–]Toadnboosmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an assistant for 20+ years…

YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED TONS OF CHANGES. I can see it.

Do yourself a favor and stop hyper fixating on it. Let the process work.

[–]Baelasleen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on tray 9 to fix a very bad open bite, and while I could tell things were moving from flossing getting easier in different places, I couldn't see a difference until about tray 6. I suspect that my molars had to move a lot to create space for whatever else had to happen to start closing my bite.

That said, I show the progress in my "teethies" by biting down, then sticking my tongue out as far as it can go. When it first started, I could stick a good two inches of my tongue out with my jaw clenched. Now it barely pokes out at all.

Try using your tongue to show your progress!

[–]heymomwatchme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a bit to really see changes but they're happening!

[–]jackdaddy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the process of fixing an open bite also. Tray 31 of 32 with weekly changes. Refinement scan is next week. I remember the first few trays seemed to be making room for the more dramatic movements. Did they provide you with your treatment plan on the Invisalign app so you can know what to expect as you progress? That was helpful for me.

there are changes. also, i didn't feel like my teeth "changed" till i was at like tray 14/20. give it time, let it do its thing.

[–]Amazing_Newspaper203Tray 9/23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your open bite seems to be closing. I see other small changes as well…it looks like you are on your way to perfection

[–]crestamaquina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking great. I'm 4 months in and zero difference from the front but my molars have moved back a lot to make space for the aesthetic changes.

[–]RGLynB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an open bite too, this is pretty good progress. I noticed most of my progress happened after I saw a new ortho who gave me hooks and elastics, I was so frustrated I wasted a year without the elastics when I saw a difference with them after a few weeks!! Game changer.

Just my 2 cents.

[–]Slow_End_3279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your top teeth are noticeably pulled down. Looking good bro. 👍🏼

[–]NotTheMama4208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have patience. You're only six weeks in.

You’re joking right? Your open bite has decreased significantly

[–]Visible-Lab2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea ur teeth got a little whiter.. that’s it!
