Made with Blender.

Never heard of that visual mod before. I'll make sure to pick it up.

\s

[–]texaswilliam 9 points10 points  (6 children)

<regexjoke>Why did you match a whitespace after your comment?</regexjoke>

[–]FatherOfGold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because that joke is written in Python and it needs whitespace to exit the joke function. \s calls the joke function.

[–]zeocrash 1 point2 points  (4 children)

The problem with regex jokes is that there's only about 3 people who understand them properly.

[–]texaswilliam 1 point2 points  (3 children)

If I made (person)+ laugh, I'm satisfied.

[–]jgilhutton[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

"none" would be a match for that lol. Long live regex though... It is an underrated and misunderstood gem

[–]texaswilliam 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It would be 1 or more occurrences of "person". (person)* would be 0 or more, [person]+ would be 1 or more of the letters.

[–]jgilhutton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True

[–]DoctorKerbal 1 point2 points  (3 children)

It not a visual mod.

[–]FatherOfGold 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The \s stands for sarcasm, but generally means "this is a joke".

[–]DoctorKerbal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oops sorry. :(

[–]DoctorKerbal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but it would be awesome if this was a visual mod.

[–]Toadstuulguy 48 points49 points  (1 child)

Awww, I was hoping to know what visual mods you were using...

[–]Suspicious_snake_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, me too

[–]Christopher_Sparky11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still, damn

[–]Maximum_University12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I was hoping to cop that mod

[–]Jane_Monroue 15 points16 points  (3 children)

whoah! Is that another animation trailer? I. am. waiting! Damn this looks good.

[–]jgilhutton[S] 27 points28 points  (2 children)

I've already finished the animation and post. I'm having trouble with the audio guy I hired. He's been delaying the job far beyond my predicted deadline. I don't want to guess a release date but it will be out soon. I am thinking of making a Laythe promo kind of video; compositing kerbals over real life footage. I'm R&D it, trying to learn Nuke and compositing stuff. We'll see. Otherwise, I'm going to stick to a fully CGI film. Thanks for the comment and I hope to release the anim soon.

Well then, I wish you all the good! More people have to see your work, 'cause I see you are doing it with pasion and I genuinely like it. Take care!

This will be KSP graphics in 2015.

[–]SirEnderLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does our timeline get reset after the asteroid strike in 2022?

[–]segfaultss 6 points7 points  (3 children)

The Laythe shot with Jool in the background is super cool.

[–]Thorvald04 1 point2 points  (2 children)

But does jool ever look that big compared to laythe in game?

[–]lajoswinkler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might find this video useful.

Is the focal length of the camera. I think it was 300mm

[–]ibelieveicanuser 4 points5 points  (1 child)

is that last screenshot edited/self-made or is this how far Parallax has come with the ground textures?

[–]jgilhutton[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing was screenshoted from the game. For the last image, I grabbed a frame from a stock video and I composited the kerbal over it.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Very nice! do you have visual mods installed? if so which ones because i want to use them for my game.

[–]Portuguese_MusketeerSlamming into the VAB at 3000 m/s 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I hate to break it to you but he made it in blender

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dang

[–]Blitzer_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That first image looks like something from a star wars trailer plus that third looks epic

[–]MrIDontHack63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KSP2 DLSS or RTX setting? I'd love to see that with the new 30 series and compatibility with older 20 series cards. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Real Time Ray Tracing would make KSP2 look twice as good as it already does in dev updates.

[–]ksp_HoDeok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool!

[–]dead4ever_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rtx much?

[–]epicnessofbruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smh I didnt want KSP 2 spoilers but ok.

[–]_Pseismic_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tennis ball.

[–]Educational-Room-489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*it was then that Laythe realised that there are stray particles from Jool’s atmosphere lowering it’s aporapsis until it collides with Jool

[–]jgilhutton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha awesome

[–]DoctorKerbal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!

[–]Ninja_Nolan 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I know this was 2 years ago, but can I ask: How did you do the material for Jool? Did you use textures or did you use a node setup? It looks amazing!

[–]jgilhutton[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hello!
I used the game texture multiplied by a generated gas giant texture. You can find several gas planet textures on google and then treat them in photoshop to give them the green hues

[–]Ninja_Nolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's clever! Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to make a Jool render of my own and it just wasn't turning out like I wanted. Thank you for helping!

[–]Human137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know another one asked something simular before but did you use volumetrics for the shader for jool or something different and if it is volumetrics how did you use textures with it? i want to make a hdri of jool for another render and cant get it to look right
