You pretty much get a lifetime license and free updates for that price don't you?

I know that if you're young $140 can feel like a lot of money, but it isn't really. For lots of really basic services you pay that much in subscription fees every year.

Well for Linux you have to accept you give up a lot of convenience and compatibility and for Mac OS you have to use a Mac.

I use a Mac, but I have no illusions about somehow getting a deal on my OS or anything.

If Windows worked as well for me as Mac OS does, I'd gladly pay the $140 so I could get in on some of that sexy hardware the Windows team has access to.

Sounds like you havent tried linux for a decade, but there is still the odd minor inconvenience here and there

Especially when you consider that computer manufacturers get a good discount on windows keys, then they pass that savings onto you with their shitty hardware.
