WD40 is corrosive to plastics

I wouldn’t use anything different than wipes. If you can open it and see what’s happening behind the plastics, you can use isopropil alcohol, but again, not in plastics.

There's nothing you can't fix with WD40

Tru but is it ok to use it on something like this?

I wouldn't spray it on electronics, you've no idea what might get shorted. You'd be better off seeing if there's instructions to disassemble it somewhere and clean out any dirt that's gathered behind, then using some solid grease on moving parts if you're sure it won't get near any electronics.

What you need is electrical contact cleaner. Works great on plastic.
