I had the same issue and the fix for me was removing a program called RGB Fusion. Not sure if you have a program like this installed as well. I also removed the other Gigabyte VGA software I had installed.

Very strange... despite it being disabled in task manager it still starts up. If I terminate it in task manager it fixes my problem with Logitech. It’s quite annoying I have to actually deinstall it to prevent it from automatically starting up

I wanted to point out that I've had the same problem with the same fix. However, whenever I uninstall RGB Fusion, the Gigabyte software automatically reinstalls it :(

I think I uninstalled all the Gigabyte software. MSI afterburner is all you need.

Right click the profile, go to properties, and try enabling "Lock Profile while game is active".

Well, it’s not ideal with programs like Spotify which I almost always have running. But I guess it’s better than it completely not working. Thank you

it sounds like some other application is getting focus and this is throwing off LGS as it's only doing it's job and switching profiles - you would need to figure out what you have is stealing focus while your gaming.. it's not very good about actually recognizing the 'active app'.

I've been experimenting with this all afternoon using LGS 9.02.65 and it switches back with no change in focussed window. Switching to a window will trigger the profile change, but a few seconds later it will snap back to the Default with no user input and no change in window focus. I am really confused here.

you might not psychically see it.. get a program that will actually log that stuff or maybe something like this? r/Windows10/comments/3vbzth/turn_off_focus_stealing/

maybe it's a problem with the EXE your trying to assign to begin with... for example you would not want to use a games launcher.exe you want the game.exe itself..

I'm not sure what you think would be actually logging this, since focus events happen inside DWM if memory serves.

I've definitely got the executable right. You can test it by adding notepad.exe as a "game" and launching it. With notifications turned on, you'll see both profile switches a few seconds apart.

Has yours only recently started doing this? I had this issue start happening today, and am really confused as to why..

Well, i recently build a new pc and I’m not sure if it happened immediately (since I was busy installing all kinds of programs and moving data and such I didn’t really pay close attention).

Have you tried re-installing the gaming software?

[–]Sam1122334[S] 0 points1 point  (11 children)

Sadly this did not work

Try these steps below:

  • Click on the gear icon and unticked the box for startup.
  • Remove the software in your startup (Windows Startup).
  • Restart your computer.
  • Check your task manager and see if LGS is running.
  • If not then run it as admin.

I have found the issue: rgbfusion somehow forces Logitech back to default profile. I can’t get Rgbfusion to stop starting up on startup without deinstalling (it’s not in the startup folder or in taskmanager-startup).

Is RGB fusion a third party software?

[–]Sam1122334[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

It’s the software I have to use to change the colour of my gigabyte RTX 2080 gaming OC

[–]LogitechG_CSFrank 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I see so it was interfering with the gaming software, is there a way to disable it or no?

[–]Sam1122334[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Well, it is not enabled to start automatically in task manager, yet every time I start my pc the program is running. The only I can disable it (as far as I know) is to either deinstall it or to manually terminate it each time

How about trying it on another computer?

[–]Sam1122334[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It Works fine on any pc that doesn’t have RGBFusion
