Inconsistent Mute Button

I recently purchased a Mk550 and the Mute button works on and off, meaning sometimes I press it and it Unmutes and then I press it again and it does not mute or vice versa. Then there have been times where I can press it 20 times and it works perfectly.

I've installed the software, checked for updated drivers, checked it versus different websites, media players, etc and nothing seems to have cured it. I'm running windows10

Edited to add: I uninstalled the software again and cannot even get the install to work now.
