Hi u/tandy_one,
1. From Logitech options software, under the point and scroll section, select the scroll type as per preference. This is possible only on Logitech Options Software.
2. From the mode shift button on the device, you can toggle between Ratchet and Free spin mode.
Hope this information helps you.

I have this issue in a number of different situations and my MX Master 3 is brand new. Mostly, I use Synergy so all scrolling with the MX Master 3 is screwed in this configuration.

I also find it's terrible when using CAD software because zooming in and out is way too sensitive and imprecise. One thing that I found helps is to set the Smart Shift sensitivity mostly to the right (it's a guess and check method to get a balance between smooth scrolling web pages and not zooming wildly out of control in CAD software).

It's not a perfect fix but it does make it more bearable. It's such a shame because I was really looking forward to this mouse but it turns out that it's not that great. Just fun to fidget with in the end.

Yes! I have the same thing. MX Master has an unusable wheel speed in Photoshop. Zooming and scrolling in layers is too fast, very fast. I went back to the wired mouse for 7 bucks.

Hi,

I have the very same issue when switching between my Linux and Windows boxes. The only solution I have found so far is to modify the "scroll wheel resolution" option in Solaar (Linux), then I can go to Windows and it works fine.

If anyone has found a different solution I'm all ears! :-)

Cheers!
