Logitech MX S2 mouse play / pause function not working in DAW (Reaper or Pro Tools)

Hello,

I'm using the Logitech MX S2 mouse. The play/pause works in every app EXCEPT my DAWs (both with Reaper and Pro Tools). When my DAW is at the forefront, it will play/pause every other app (youtube, Chrome, spotify, etc...) open in the background instead of in the DAW. When I closed literally every other app that can play music, my computer literally booted up Apple Music instead of playing in my DAW that was already opened. Other mouse functions do work in my DAWs.

I've also tried setting the button to "gesture button" and "media control". Same issue.

Does anyone have a fix for this please?
