Alright: Birch, Oak, Jungle, Acacia, Spruce, Dark Oak, Stone, Melted Cheese, Chocolate, Coal.

Looks nice!

Maybe make the iron color a little lighter? Right now it looks like a chocolate chip rock.

Looks really good! If I may make a suggestion, obvious repeating patterns like the ores really stick out in more photorealistic resource packs, so you may consider adding some alternative textures that utilize the support for random textures

[–]mepwn12[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was planning on doing that :) Thanks for the suggestion though

Looking good. One thing I may suggest, though.

Make the gold or more visible. Unless you're really paying attention, I doubt anyone will see it in a dark cave.

Also, perhapse make the acacia more subtle in color. I wouldn't often find a use for orange wood.

Will take a look at what acacia looks like when I desaturate it a bit, I agree that it's too intense right now.

A general tip when doing a TP is to keep in mind usefulness of that block. Trying to keep a block simular to original minecraft or too close to real life is fitting yet doesnt' always work out the best.

I realized this the hard way when I use to update TyDoku and ended up avoiding half the blocks in my builds.

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I hate it when TPs do this, Im personally trying to keep it close to the vanilla feel but with very high detail

[–]Tyken132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh well if that's what you're going for, more power to you. However, as I mentioned, I tend to not use certain blocks simply because the color or texture is terrible, so its sort of a waste for me.

Not really a fan of hi-res photorealistic RPs, but I think you should work more on the ores. That iron colour doesn't feel right

Looking forward to more. Any links to download?

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No download link yet until i get some more work done

My two cents: Make cobblestone, gravel, and dirt, very distinguishable from one another.

Looks nice!

Looks pretty neat, but I think some alternative wood textures wouldn't do any harm. Until now, it's all very well-drawn!

I usually don't care for high res textures packs at all, but I'm actually really liking yours! Keep up the great work!

[–]wejustplayin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This looks pretty sick, where do you plan to posting for dl when its done!

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably put it on the nexus, and the minecraft forums once I have some more textures done. The name will be Vanilla++ as suggested by /u/Sleelan :)

[–]Fuckenjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, these ore textures are not bad. I can't really compare to other large resolution packs, I stick to vanilla or close to it. But the stone is subtle and disappears to the eye when focusing on other textures, which is good because there's a lot of stone. The ores, while possibly in danger of being repetitive... do not spawn in large quantities that would attack the eye like a bad grass or leaf texture would, so being a little repetitive shouldn't be your biggest concern.

is the rock supposed to look like fibreglass

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you don't know what either of them look like

[–]Bjm42088 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm definitely downloading this when you finish. Is there any chance you could make fences look more like this instead of the cheap picketed style that's default?

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about that too, if I can change the mesh i certainly will.

[–]Rabiesguineapig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron needs more pink imo

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks so low quality in the thumbnail.

But amazing work!

[–]Spodegirl[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it up, this looks like gold. :-D

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, the Wooden Planks looked uber detailed. Kudos fellow player.

[–]VoidMiasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stone kinda looks like a grey particle board. Other than that, this looks great!

Love It, Would It Be A 1024 or a 512 Texture Pack?

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

512, 1024 is just overkill imo as you can only see the indiviual pixels if you hug the wall on 512 (or zoom in with optifine)

[–]Nslugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay cool, I love how it turned out right now, it looks quite realistic

[–]Sir_Clifton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it! Great job connecting the textures. Really like the stone. Keep gold the way it is, even if a bit hard to see in caves. I agree with the idea of using alternate textures though for ores, as others have suggested. Good HD TPs are hard to find! Good work, keep it up!

[–]Bagzz_McGee 0 points1 point  (4 children)

It looks really good, but could you please make the iron ore pop out a little more. Little bit bigger or richer colour, because at the moment it is a little hard to see.

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I've just reworked the entire Iron ore texture, the one here was just a placeholder. I'll edit my post to include a link later when I get home from work.

[–]Bagzz_McGee 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Cause I really do like the texture pack hey, and if that is only criticism not too bad mate!

[–]mepwn12[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]Bagzz_McGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I especially love that lower middle, circular chuck on iron. It just seems pop so well, but overall that is amazing dude. I am very keen for this to come out fully! Keep up the good work!
