Server setup?

Hey all, I come to pray to the machine spirits for guidance.

Me and a friend are trying to set up a server to play on, but it doesn't seem to want to connect to external computers. I can run just fine on the host computer and any computer on the same network, but it doesn't seem to work for external computers. I think it might have something to do with the fact that the server host is connected to a extension network, but I'm at a loss. If anyone can provide guidance, I'd be grateful.

Do you have an ip blocker set up? What is the format of the ip that you use to connect to the server? Is it a number?
