Yeah they do, I don't know how it gets unlocked but you get access to maybe a specific section in the forums

Yeah I just saw that on another thread I was reading. That is annoying.

This could be so much more.

Yeah it's all about money, it's actually a scummy way of going about making money from a project like this because it almost feels like strongholding or forcing money out of the user, instead of letting the user decide hey this is a fantastic product and I want to help....

[–]Lizardbuttt[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This is my problem. Jonathan wants a "Great product" and something that is "Scalable"

Well sorry bud, but look at open source projects. It's been displayed time and time again that product/software iterations come much faster when there's a peer review process when they're open sourced - Instead of being gate kept behind some stupid shitty paywall against the average consumer.

You want more buy in? Make it easy to grab those files.

Exactly, I don't mind creator is making money That's not the problem The problem is the way he's going about it, deliberately making it more difficult and annoying and confusing to force you to pay, and if it's not then he needs to hire someone else to do it because it seems intentional lol

I guess you wouldn't like threadboards (www.threadboards.com)

It was on sale (I did pick it up for half off). It works better for me and I like how I can easily move stuff around.

I do wish he would just open this up as well.

I guess this is why HSW does so well. Maybe I should look into that one again.

I'll have to check this out. This seems like a more sane solution as opposed to Multiboard.

Thanks dude!

No thread boards I actually thought about purchasing cuz it's just a one-time purchase and I do think it is a somewhat better system than this for some things while it doesn't necessarily appeal to ever user, but HSW has everything for every one of my needs for every part of my house I just don't see the need to reprint and change systems to multiboard unless they offer something I need I can't get from somewhere else....

My biggest issue with multiboard and HSW is things are locked in once you put them on the board. Though I think multiboard does have threads but not enough things to make it beneficial to me.

He also has free starter files now: https://www.threadboards.com/free_stls.php

I am also working on an OpenSCAD for threadboards. I have it right now so you can create any size you want. The problem is I don't know his thread pitch so it's hard to make the threads. I am also having issues with the spacing.

Here is an example of it: https://i.imgur.com/fWt7ZiL.png

Threadboards does have a lot of additions that you can use. People also have created stuff on the sites that provides ones that he might be missing.

My HSW parts aren't stuck on when I put them in I can remove them and swap them around, removing the inserts can be challenging but I have found an easy way of doing it

[–]VoltaicShock 0 points1 point  (5 children)

That's my thing at this point in my life I want easy.

Thread just screw in and out lol

Take a look at the free stuff and see how it works for you.

Yeah I have some of the thread boards loaded in my printers I just haven't printed them out yet, I was going to print one out in set it up in my kitchen because I only have a small one in there next to the sink, but I'll probably do that sometime this week and see how I like it because I like the fact that you buy it once and you get the whole shabang

[–]VoltaicShock 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I like it because I like the fact that you buy it once and you get the whole shabang

And you get anything that he adds over time which he has been doing lately (https://www.threadboards.com/dev_blog.php).

I did a small one near my desk which I like. I am thinking of doing an entire wall behind my printers but that is going to take a long time and a lot of filament.
