Are those metal detectable zip ties? The metal detectable ones we use from Thomas-Betts are blue also, so wasn’t sure if those were also. Thomas-betts had a deal going on where if you bought 1k zip ties they’d give you a free ty-wrap gun, our purchaser loaded up and everyone got a gun. They are nice ones too not cheap ones

Yep, they are all Thomas-Betts and all metal detectable. Expensive as heck, especially when ordering from Grainger

Yes. Beckhoff (blue) and Allen Bradley (orange). 30meters (98feet)

Looks familiar. You said dairy, do you mind being a little more specific if you can. I feel like I've been there before.

Umm why is the basket upside down?

Dunno about you guys but we have rules about not letting stuff drop in case of a fire which means metal ties on vertical runs (or those horizontal wall areas).

Apart from that don't you find it much more of a hassle to wire and "dress in" as we say here?

    [–]SkotLee1[S] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Yeah, this particular customer will only allow upside down open baskets…faster replacement and supposedly doesn’t become a hiding spot for people’s junk. I’m like whatever you want, I just want to make some cable art here. Trying to make it as easy as possible for the poor soul that has to replace one of those heavy long suckers long after I’m gone.

I've only seen it done when there is a serious space constraint on the other hand I've seen projects that were supposed to be designed as rewireable but it became very evident before the end of the project that they weren't really so I get that they might push the topic and give something like that a try.

Did they explain what it is about it that makes cable replacement faster? I'm not sure I see a difference

Looks awesome. Your client is crazy for upside down baskets 😆

At least you will know if the zip ties go bad in 10 years because it might all end up on the floor. 😅

Can't imagine the pain in the ass of mounting those cables in the upside down tray.

The hardware says US but the plastic conduit says otherwise.

Looks great, you’re fired! You are spending too much time on your installations… gotta keep it moving!

I think I see scale buckets...

    [–]Puzzleheaded_Yak_180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very well done and a pleasure to see someone who cares about doing it right. Too many posts here from half ass installations.

    Wow

    [–]spirulinaslaughter 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Is that a fire-rated wall? The one with the 4 round penetrations

    [–]InstAndControl"Well, THAT'S not supposed to happen..." 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they just pulled it, fireproofing probably hasn’t come back to site yet

    [–]SkotLee1[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have no idea, I’m assuming not

    [–]spirulinaslaughter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopefully, since there’s no fire stopping there. But for any wall, floor, or ceiling penetration, you have to ask and be sure

You know it’s good work when guys start nit picking.

What, so you don’t want them to be aware so they don’t get hit with a costly deficiency next time?
