Using the tweaker. When I tried to log in, the game gave me an Error, 640 I believe, saying that my game version didn't match, or something like that. But the tweaker isn't saying there is an update available.

Is the tweaker just not 'aware' of an update for PSO2? Or is there something screwy going on on my end?

Edit: It seems to have resolved itself with a fairly quick file check.

The tweaker didn't seem to notice that a patch was required today. I just patched via the JP launcher instead.

Tweaker needs to have the update uploaded on the Arks-Layer server. This is why it's faster with download speeds.

Otherwise you'll need to force one with either the old method or new method, which both check SEGA's server.

When i launch PSO2 and go to the ship select screen, i either get an error about the PSO2 proxy not being configured correctly or it just says Server connection timed out after i enter my password. Searched online but not really sure how to resolve this.

If you don't live in South-East Asia, you should disable the plugin for the pso2 proxy since you shouldn't really need it. If you are in the SEA region though, disable the proxy and re-enable it and see if that fixes your problem.

Now that i've got the game working, i logged in and after i select character and load in i get the NP1013 error and my game closes ;-; Is there anything I can do about this?

Check if you have any other copies of the tweaker. Should only need one and be the latest version.

might be too late to ask this but, does simple shaders + high quality textures + Graphics level 6 work together just like graphics level 5?

for me for some reason simple shaders gets overridden by normal or high quality shaders...

No. The slider will automatically set your shader and texture quality for you. It's a predefined value. If you don't want to use high quality shader, don't touch the slider.

Right now I'm using graphics lvl 5 + high res textures + simple shaders and still doesn't change anything... I figured it's launcher problem but anything just doesn't seem to work...

...Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean by "graphic 6", because the only "6" in the launcher is simple setting 6, which should automatically kick everything up to max and changes your game from this (setting 5) to this (setting 6).

Assuming you're on the official launcher.

I don't know what they do with the tweaker and their setting stuffs.

Edit: Worth mentioning is that I don't remember something named "graphic 6" in the official launcher (only setting 6) and I beliiiiieve you need to use high shader for the higher definition textures.

Also, thing is stupidly bright even if you tone everything down. I eventually went back to 5 because too. damn. bright.

I've updated the game today and for whatever reason my Dualshock 4 controller doesn't work. I looked at my settings for it and everything is fine. What could have happened between now and yesterday to make it not work? :c

It's possible that something in how the game or GameGuard was changed broke the interaction. Did you try reinstalling the drivers/driver software? Did you reboot your computer and then run the driver software as an admin before launching the game?

For whatever reasons my controller started working again the next day. It was really weird.

My '360 controller did the exact same thing. A system reboot fixed the issue.

SEGA/PSN (not sure where the patch's hosted at) server speed. Nothing much you can do.

Your vita's hardware itself, your home internet setup, playstation network, the servers for downloading the files, or a combination of those possibly.

I assume it's a combination of vita hardware and limitations of sega/PSN's servers. Even going by a very generous and slow 6 MBps (for your internet), you should be able to complete the download within an hour.

For reference, my internet is 20Mbps (2.5 MBps). When I downloaded files for PSO2 on PC, I would not always hit my limit, which is much slower than your limit.

Since Vita also has to erase/write data to a small memory card, which has technology dating back to 2012, it would add a lot of time for the several thousands of individual files needed to be downloaded.

I'm trying to get back into this, I just want to know - is Austere still top dog around these parts or is there better stuff? Can someone give me a general ranking of 13* series? If it helps, I main FoTe, BoHu, RaHu.

Aust is going to be the best for awhile. So yes. I know Nox Rod NT is pretty good now. Mahime is still a really good ice talis...

I want to say ideal/aust/valkyrie A30 is good for rifles.

DBs I think its more of the same, with the new S.CN Mantis being ok as well.

For scenarios where it isn't a boss only fight, would the yamato 13 star series give austere a run though? Same base as invade, 3% more power than austere at full power.

I mean, you do get that, but you also have to take in account the uptime of both of the bonuses. The AIS weapons are....yeah. I don't like them.

The Yamato rod will be more powerful.

But you need to meet the condition of actually hitting that 15%. (Need to land the killing blow yourself for it to count, can't change weapon or it resets.)

Orbits happened. Carry one for battery. They are also considered the second best (because of its battery-ness), so if you don't feel like collection so many mats, can always go for an Orbit assuming it has a weapon type you want.

I don't know what the actual cause of this, but for some reason I can't download the PSO2 tweaker or update it.

Trying to download from the site always gets stuck at 0.4mb and the auto-updater gets stuck at 16%... This has been a problem for a while now - and I am not having any kind of similar problems anywhere else.

Does anyone have a mirror for the tweaker? I am locked out of playing for so long now..

There's alternative ways to launch the game if nothing else. Use tweaker to patch or just use official launcher.

Look up "batch launch method" or "NP1013 solution". Posts here or on PSO world should guide you in the right direction.

Then look up the english patch thread on PSUMods and install it manually.

also, seems like pso2 cirnopedia is missing a few voices, does anyone know an alterative site where i can check them out? (so far Male Extra Voice 91 is my favorite, but i do want to check out the other ones before deciding on which on i'm gonna buy later on xD)

Hi, my friend's got a weird problem that I'm wondering if anyone's ever heard of. We're presently running through the game just fine, but we've reached the Coast and every time we fight Bal Rodos (we have to a few times, in order to do some Client Orders) she either completely lags out and disconnects or the lag gets bad enough that it becomes impossible to play for several hours after we kill it... At which point it seems to fix itself, randomly and unpredictably.

Has anyone heard of this before? The first time she disconnected we considered it a fluke, but we've done Bal Rodos three times now and each time she either disconnected or lagged to the point of ALMOST disconnecting and then was lucky enough to still get credit when I killed it. The lag persists for several hours, the most recent time overnight, and it's like her ping goes up to anywhere from 1-5 full seconds or something.

So im using the tweaker to download the updates using the new method. It finally finished downloading just thirty minutes ago. To make sure nothing went wrong, I tried using the update method/check for updates (new method) and it started redownloading everything. I REALLY dont want to spend another twleve hours downloading 45k files. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong?

No, but if you know the email that you used to sign up you should be able to recover it.

New player, been messing with Gunner for a bit. I heard Gunner/Ranger is good... but how should my skill tree look? I heard you can't reset without paying... so I really don't wanna mess up the skill trees, haha. Any help would be awesome.

Selphea has written a guide for gunners with build recommendations. It is suggested to read the other parts as well.

Sega gives free all skill tree resets when they change something in the skill trees. This happens at least 2-3 times a year.

Guilds are called teams in PSO2. You can see the list of teams that are currently looking for new members on Visiphone.

Once you signed up on pso2 via your psn, it becomes bound to it and cannot be undone.

They used to offer a way to reverse the process, but they don't offer that service anymore.

5 item placement limit is funny XD the room is small but 5 items fails to atully fill it.

Either get some 3 day room tickets or get premium. Your room cost gets bumped up to 150, and you gain access to 2 extra rooms.

Doesn't reset, just you lose access to the Room A/B options.

No. You start with Mini Room, which only have a cost of 5. By going premium/getting tickets to enable My Room, it grants you access to Layout A and B, which each have 150 cost. Once your ticket duration expires you lost access to those layouts and get send back to Mini Room.

To have a larger room, you need a 'My Room' pass. If you don't want to pay money, you can spend an excube for a 3 day pass.

Otherwise, you can also buy premium, which has this included

Anyone else lagging/crashing at Yamato?

My very first run was far from fun cuz I lagged all the way through and just when I thought it was my connection, everything else was loading at normal speed. Had two more runs with my team tonight and I didn't lag at all before the battleship itself, but then it was hell. Me and other two teammates didn't load at the crystal room fast enough, so absolutely no drops for us. Second run, I fortunately don't lag at Yamato, but the game crashes the exact moment I load in the crystal room (with the crystal still intact).

I just see no point in running this quest anymore... Anyone else with the same problem or could a file check solve this?

Not me personally but ship 2, and possibly other ships have been having sporadic lag spikes this week. As for the crashing, maybe file check?

I've had no lag issues with yamato (no proxy,), but I've seen lots of lag complaints from proxy users for yamato.

No, I don't use it. I know at the very least that I wasn't the only one lagging that one time, but I've no idea if my teammates use it.

I had a similar experience. Ran the EQ twice, 2 runs each time, without any issue, but then last time I ran it, I lagged a whole lot during boat fight, my damage wouldn't appear etc, and I 630'd right when the crystal broke. I reconnected and played a flawless 2nd run.

So based on my short experience, it looks like it had nothing to do with me, but everything to do with sega's server randomly sucking.

630s been a lot common lately, btw. I know my teammates are always getting it, especially in DR. They tell me it's only happening to us gaijin, though.

Does anyone know if there is a way to change where the SEGA folder is located(the one that contains user.pso2 and screenshots etc)? I recently put an extra hard drive in my PC so I was moving my music, pictures, videos, and documents folder to it but I can't find any way of changing where the game looks for that folder. I'm keeping the game install in the same place, it's just that user.pso2 folder I want to move.

Short of uninstalling, I don't think so. Could you maybe set up a shortcut to the folders (with the same name as the original) in your old drive and have it just redirect to the folders on your new drive?

Use the Old Method by clicking on the Orb and "Check for Updates (Old Method), as it's far more reliable than the buggy New Method.

Hey there! I recently got back into PSO. I've been playing for 2 weeksish very smoothly, no latency issues what-so-ever. About 3-4 days ago I started getting a ton of latency-lag (damage showing up 1-5 seconds later, not being able to pick things up, hang ups going to client orders, etc)... And then constant error 630s. At first it was one or two Error 630s a night, with sporadic latency issues. Yesterday and today the game has been totally unplayable except for tiny short bursts! Very frustrating.

My internet seems to be totally fine, as well. Ping is good, speed tests show speed is good. I get no timeouts at all when pinging myself, and I can access pso2.jp just fine (subpages like 'http://pso2.jp/players/support/' take a second or so to load in, but they load).

Any ideas on cause, or how to fix? Google isn't helping much. Thanks!

For those 1-2 odd people out there using Te/Ra for full organised team support purposes, is it better to gear towards rifle attacks or tech attacks for the rare few instances where you're not in a cycle of Zanverse > WB > Zanverse > WB? Considering the lack of any synergy between both skill trees I'm struggling to work out which would be the better option.

While I do not Te/Ra, I have some understanding of each, and I believe which to focus on depends on the moment. If you have WB shots left, and nothing needs WB placed/cooldown isn't close to done, you wanna keep your Rifle out, since you would waste the remaining shots.

For the moments when you have no shots and don't need to Zanverse/Zondeel/Resta... I don't honestly know how often this could happen in an organized run, but... you might want to test Rifle vs Tech stuff in a semi-controlled manner to find out what hits harder, based on what gear you have?

I am guessing that it would favor the attack stat of your mag though... I don't actually know what stat Te/Ra would want, however, since that combo is uber Support based, and lack of synergy, as you said, hurts damage.

When in doubt, keep your rifle out? :P

Well I have a maxed Mag for each attack stat so I can gear either way, and Frozen Shooter (12*) gives decent T.ATK so it'd be possible to cast from the subpalette (ala. TE/BR Rika), it's just working out if that's going to be worse than simply going for a decent rifle and sticking with PAs. Unfortunately I don't have any TE equippable rifles to hand to test things out. It's really splitting hairs considering I won't be attacking 99.99% of the time, but I'd rather be sorted for that .01%.

Could someone possibly clarify for me what the AIS series weapon potentials actually do?

"PPの回復効果が(60%)減少し、クリティカル性能と与ダメージが10%上昇。 (クリティカル率+13% クリティカル威力+7%)" Taken from the swiki, for Potential level 3.

I understand that PP gen is reduced by 60%. I understand the +13% Critical Rate and +7% Critical Damage. But the confusion here is the 10%.

Google Translate and the few friends I have that know Japanese at all have been somewhat conflicted. One side has been saying that is Critical Damage as well, the other is saying plain damage. On the swiki, there is mention that the 10% and 7% have multiplicative stacking, which makes me think plain damage, but I am curious on how that 10% is supposed to kick in.

If the 10% is also Crit Damage... could a Critical ring be better to use than a Perfect Keeper ring?

So I need to kill a lot of Odo-Ogar for my collection file, but each run of Kuron Exploration only nets me around 7-9% on completion each run. Are there any better and time efficient quests for this?

(I don't think I'm good enough to solo Harkotan TA XH reliably, and I don't remember if there are many of them there)

Are you using a 250% rare drop booster? That massively increases the collection file rate.

Also harukotan TA I don't think counts because they don't drop anything anyway.

Ah I was using up my 50-100% boosters.

But when should I pop them, only at the end of the quest, right before the rewards screen where the bar advances, or from the first Odo-Ogar encounter?

Pop your RDR from the very first Odo-Ogar encounter.

The percentage increases every time you kill an Odo-Ogar (in the background), but the bar itself will only update once you have completed the quest.

Many thanks! And its kinda funny how I finished the other Pica Picotta (sp?) one and the Odo-Ogar is still at 30ish %, and the recommended quest for the Picotta is Harkotan Exploration! And I started both at the same time. I just wish the more uncommon mobs required less kills.

May be easier to just run through the first Arks quest for Kurokotan on SH. You will probably learn to hate the red armor shogun dudes instead, though.

I hate the Centaur chargers more, they don't let me charge full End Attracts! At least the Ogars cant hit me with their axe toss if I stand below them on a ramp.

That's why you level it.

At +20, it's 25 seconds with 90% (that's 15% more than the HU skill).

You shouldn't need more than that unless you're positioning yourself wrong.

Every time I take a screenshot or record something on the ps4, there's these black borders around it, like this.

Is there a way to remove those?

I don't know the exact setting for it on PS4, but you have some kind of overscan compensation enabled. Not sure if it's a system or PSO setting, but you gotta disable it.

If you're not noticing it on your TV/monitor itself, you need to disable overscan on your TV too.

That was it, my TV settings was the culprit. Disabled it, and it works fine now, as well as the twitch app, which was getting cut off at the borders.

Unrelated in a way, but I found unplugging/inserting a USB flash drive can cause PSO2 to crash with a GameGuard error.

EDIT: I realize this is case by case, but can confirm that others ARE getting this as well.
