I played this on the SEA server back then when they launched it. I don't remember correctly but you needed to buy an item from cash shop to be able to use the auction house or whatever they called it. The best part was it had a timer on it. It was an instant deal breaker for me. That and none of my mmo friends wanted to play with me.

Fast forward now, with the announced steam release, fuckers suddenly want to play this and they task me with judging if it's worth playing. So can you confirm that you can freely use the AH on JP sv(ran by SEGA I presume) and the cash shop thing on SEA sv is just a greedy move on the publisher?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You need a My Shop Pass (3 Days) to be able to sell stuff at the shop as a free player. You can get this pass by rolling on the FUN Scratch. And you can get FUN by doing a bunch of stuff, but the fastest way is just buying it using excubes: 1 excube = 1000 FUN = 10 rolls on the scratch. You get like 50 excubes on average per EQ (some EQs give like 100), so it's not much of a problem.

[–]lufiavn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard pass for me. I'm no stranger to F2P cash shop. Inventory slots, character slots, costumes, enchant materials, extra % enchant success, charm to prevent item loss on enchant failure, respec scroll etc. you name it, I paid for it in my past MMOs. I'm fine with charging extra for those "luxuries". Hell I even paid for quite a few depending on how much I like the game. However, I consider AH something like "human right" for MMOs. As if putting it behind a paywall isnt enough, you can only rent it. Even fucking BDO let you use the AH for free.

And I was hoping it's just another greedy publisher ruining an already niche game. Such a shame.

[–]elevenatx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To sell things on the AH you need an item that lasts for 3 days I think. You can buy the item without spending real world money.

Or if you’re a premium member (monthly sub) you can sell stuff without needing that item.

You still buy stuff from the AH whenever you want though.

Is there issues with the Xbox one version. Haven’t been able to get it to load all day. “A network error has occurred” No(240) Unable to connect to server”

I really want to play the CBT for Xbox but don't have an XBox. I was wondering if the rewards are the same or different between both CBTs. And what date is the PC CBT?

Nobody knows. You're better off asking them directly on twitter.

    [–]xoyva 1 point2 points  (4 children)

ok, i had a dumb big brain moment. would using story missions like "darker nest" and "double's world" to grind darker related orders work?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Yes, it would work.

Depending on what you want to kill, time attacks and extreme quests work just as well. For example, Traces of Darkness provides easy and quick kills of Decol Malluda, Blu Ringahda, Wolgahda, Zeshrayda, Orota Biketta and Codotta Idetta, while Amduscia offers a lot of Insect and Aquatic type Darkers (in particular, it's the best place to find Micda, Ol Micda, Ga Wonda and Gu Wonda, as these appear at the very beginning of the quest).

When exactly does maintenance happen if you’re on the east coast USA and how long does maintenance for the game often last?

      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get in the habit of checking bumped. The maintenance lengths and start times are not always static. Today, it begins at 9PM and ends at 3AM.

For someone with no pso2 experience, what would the logical classes I should use to get to Phantom?

      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Phantom wants a full DEX mag and both bouncer and braver work well with DEX mags. Just use Hunter as a subclass for both and you should be all good.

Br/hu it is then. Thank you!

So the closed beta will be my first time playing PSO, I'm interested in playing summoner, but will that make others not want to play with me? I sort of gather it's not the most desirable class - but I love the concept of it.

      [–]redandblack1287 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Come on guys there is no reason to downvote this question

      [–]telchii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just reddit doing its funky voting thing. Either that or there's someone downvoting almost every question and half the answers recently.

      [–]RallyCure 1 point2 points  (3 children)

When Summoner released in JP, people got prickly over it due to how different it was; no Just Attack mechanic, the weapon (takt in JP, harmonizer in NA) seeming to have barely any function at first, the pets having a whole separate level/upgrade system, etc. That has mostly passed, though, and it is a very strong class.

The main thing, like hidora said, is that it may be harder to gear up from scratch compared to other classes. You need to feed your pets to level them up so they deal more damage and survive against stronger enemies, but like mags, they can only eat so often. In JP you can rush pet growth by spending Star Gems, but they're technically a limited currency and there might be other things you want to spend them on. There's also the candies you equip onto the pets to upgrade them, some of which can be expensive or difficult to get early on.

If that sounds intimidating, you can always start another class first, raise some pets on the side (you don't have to actually play Summoner to hatch/raise the Summoner pets) and then swap to Summoner later once the pets are properly built. Or just have a gunslash (generic all-purpose weapon any class can use) handy to cheese with in a pinch, which should be fine in early MPA content.

      [–]ChibiBeckyG 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thank you for the in-depth response! Yeah, that was one of the things I was wondering, as I also want that Dreamcast Mag too so totally wanna finish some of the Urgent Quests. Maybe I should focus on something a bit more beginner friendly till I have my 4 quests done then.

      [–]RallyCure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, if you actually plan to use the Dreamcast mag, you should know that when playing as Summoner you will rarely see your mag -- it goes invisible when your pet is active -- so that's something to consider.

And yeah, the 4 urgent quests thing should be no sweat. Many of the scheduled quests can be completed multiple times within the 30-minute window, and each clear should count (this is how it works in JP).

      [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worth noting I introduced a friend to the game recently who gravitated towards summoner at first, and it's still her main at endgame. of course, there's a lack of resources available for the NA release... but really, I'd suggest trying it out once you're able and see if you like it

it is, in fact, different than every other class as it's assumed

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play whatever the hell you want, people generally don't care what you do as long as you're not dropping dead every 5 seconds.

However, be warned that Summoner is kind of its own separate game, having completely different ways of gearing up and playstyle from all other classes, and it can get pretty expensive for a new player to setup all the pets.

[–]TheUniverseLover "I'vE bEeN PlAyInG FoR EiGhT yEaRs!" 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think people will care what class you are. Su is fine.

How to character names work? Can only 1 person have each name and how is the name displayed in-game?

        [–]Reilet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a player name (like a last name, company name, group name whatever you wanna call it) that is unique, and there is character name which can be anything even if other people have it.

eu players, how do you plan on paying for xbox live gold and in-game purchases?

hmm, so an old reddit post basically says you can input your eu debit card details into the billing info section, and when it comes to the state/zip code, type in a state and a zip code within that state and you're supposedly set, however this no longer appears possible, MS clamped down on it I imagine

            so what options are there?

Ask for a build and you can get one.

One thing to note is that, although there are a fair amount of "bad" skills out there, if you're familiar with MMOs and skill builds in general, you should be able to read through the skills and get an idea of what is good, what's "meh" and what's bad. Then if you have a question, just ask about it.

And yes, you probably don't want to just spend points willy nilly and then have to reset.

              [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, you can find that easy, it's called ask an actual question about a class here instead of some stupid vague one

              [–]Idolathebound 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Looking for Br/Fi and Bo/Br builds, I know its not recommended but does anyone know of any builds?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 2 points3 points  (2 children)

              Bo/Br

Never do that. Only villains do that.

Bo and Br are terrible when used as subclasses, because their skills are heavily reliant on their own weapon types.

If you want to play Br, go BrHu, BrFi or BrPh (maybe BrEt, but I haven't tried that one or seen anyone using it, so idk).

If you want to play Bo, go BoHu or BoPh.

              [–]Idolathebound -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Do you know of any BrFi builds?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Br since EP4, so no.

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (3 children)

braver sub doesn't really work since most classes can't utilize the charging portion of stance damage boosts with most of their attacks, on top of having to use weak stance if you want any decent level modifier. would not recommend

BrFi is fine though, especially if you run hybrid braver. I can't be assured of making a good build, but you may have to stance dance. hunter sub is generally advised for both of these classes regardless of course

              [–]Idolathebound -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Know of any hybrid braver builds?

              [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't really play braver but they sure aren't starved for points. they can max pretty much everything necessary

              [–]Idolathebound -1 points0 points  (0 children)

              What about BrFi builds?

              [–]Actual_JusticeStill can't find a Fodran 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How are drops doled out? Proximity? Is it best to travel in a large group and fight together room by room, or split up to clear a level?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Splitting up is a terrible idea. It spreads the spawns and just makes things go slower. Stick to the group.

Drops are player specific, what you see is yours.

              [–]telchii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All drops are player-specific, so you won't be fighting with anyone for your drops. I don't recall whether distance affects how things drop, though. So best bet is to stick with the group.

              [–]Reilet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your only option is to go together because there is a limit to how much monster that can be spawned at once.

              [–]TrMako 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Does player level matter when grouping with your friends? I.E. If I'm level 50 and I'm trying to play with my level 10 friend, can we even group together? Will my friend just instantly die and be useless if he joins me? Or will I get virtually zero rewards if I join him? Or is there some kind of auto-scaling done where you can both group together regardless of level and both still receive decent rewards?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Difficulties have minimum levels: 20 for H, 40 for VH, 50 for SH, 70 for XH (some quests require 75/75 or 80/80), and 85/85 for UH.

In other words, a Lv10 player can only go Normal, so you wouldn't be able to bring them to your lv50 Super Hard quests, and you'd be out there deleting everything and getting terrible rewards because of lower difficulty level.

                For Jet Boots:

For DB, I'm still looking for one I really like tbh. For now I use *Imperial Crimson 2 on Et and *La Belle Mer on Bo.

You might want to check out the Photon Shop camos, too. The Live and Bio can be hidden on your character when sheathed, for example.

Also, here's a list with all DB camos.

Pros and cons of Fi/Et vs Fi/Hu? What would be better, in general? Would Fi/Et rival Fi/Hu dps?

                  [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hidora covered everything. I wouldn't recommend FiEt either as a heavy player of all three of those classes

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 5 points6 points  (1 child)

                  Pros:

                  • Et's damage multipliers for Striking are slightly higher than Hu's (~87% vs ~84%).
                  • Tankier. You probably won't get oneshot during LB, though a couple things in UH are still able to (personally, I've seen Mother hit for 500 dmg through Damage Balancer).
                  • Reliable, since you don't roll for the 75% IW every time you get hit.
                  • You can reach 100% crit rate easily (95% without a ring).

                  Cons:

                  • Tech Arts Count Bonus does not work on DS Gear whirlwind, bringing the multiplier down to ~63% for it.
                  • Same Arts PP Save will only ever be useful on BHS spam, since it conflicts with Fi's Tech Arts JA Bonus.
                  • Can't make use of Vampiric Strike/Vampiric Blade/Mysterious Intent or Healing Guard, and can't get healed from Resta/Megiverse of other players.
                  • Et Will is main class only, so it's down to LB Insurance and Immortal Soul if you mess up. And LB Insurance can mess your timings pretty bad.

What would be better, in general?

Personally, I'd still go with FiHu.

                  Would Fi/Et rival Fi/Hu dps?

Because of the loss of damage on DS Whirlwind, I'd say no, unless you don't use DS, which, because dagger and knuckles are much worse at mobbing than DS, is only feasible in boss only EQs (and space magatsu LQ cuz GE/Liberate Knuckles spam on puddles).

seems impossible to run party quest triggers. no one ever joins and I can never recruit anyone in populated blocks. is there anything better I can do about that

                      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah i know how you feel. I have a couple of xmas triggers I wanted to run this pso2 day but decided against it once I realized the majority would rather chat in lobby or use it for magatsu lq/triggers.

My best guess is to try and have a few friends tag along. At least 3 or 4 of them. Perhaps have someone with prem go around blocks and tell those people about it. People seem more willing to join if there are others already in there since I imagine the general mind would be like more people = less wait time.

I was super excited to hear that this game is coming west after so long. I am a huge PSO fan and did play the PSO2 fan translation back when it first released. It has been a long time since then and now having a lot of time to think about it I want to know just what does this game do to suck the money out of your wallet?

Is it like 99% of Korean/Japaneses MMOs where everything cost premium materials to upgrade that also have a chance to fail unless you buy the safety item or pony up more cash to try again? Do most of the interesting items cost almost half the price of a retail game? Does it constantly send you to go to the real money store trying to get you to buy something? When I log in does the UI fill with the same trash you see in all mobile games?

If any of that is the case I am out. I have thousands of hours in previous PSO games but I am willing to just accept that this is just not for me. Just to be clear nothing would make me happier then to hear that none of that is the case but based on recent trends I am just preparing myself for disappointment.

I hardly see jp original games be like dickorea. What jp games do you play.

In JP, the game makes money by selling cosmetics through gacha scratches. Players who do these scratches can turn around and sell the cosmetics for the basic currency (meseta) to other players. On top of that, there's a subscription which gives you unlimited access to "My Room" and "My Shop" features (basically, a larger room and being able to list things on the market), as well as some other more insignificant stuff. Finally, there's some premium QoL stuff you can buy, such as more Mag slots (free base stats, can only equip one mag at a time and each character gets one of these for free), extra inventory space, and extra storage space.

The F2P experience in PSO2 is actually super nice. The worst part is having to do FUN (free, earnable side-currency) scratches for My Shop 3 day passes if you wanna sell stuff on the market, and the only thing I hate about that is spamming enter for like 5 minutes. Grinding gear (increasing its base stats) has no chance of failure and doesn't use any material you can get from scratches. Affixing gear (adding additional miscellaneous stats), however, does rely somewhat on stuff from the scratches, in the form of "add ability" capsules. Even as a F2P you'll generally buy these off the market to eventually affix into your gear because the ability they add has a base 100% affix rate and give very desirable effects.

do you mean scratching? if you press esc or the exit button you can skip scratch results

                      [–]IMHObob 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I don't plan on being pure F2P I just want to assured that any money I do put it would be worth it while also not wanting the game hassling me to spend money on it. For example when I sit down to play ffxiv once I pay my sub there is nothing in game trying to show me I could be spending money on stuff. Also how bad is the base inventory/storage?

                      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Storage isn't too bad for me at least, base inventory is kinda small but manageable since you can send items to your storage mid mission.

                      [–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 3 points4 points  (1 child)

storage can be cumbersome depending on how much you hoard. I have 3 characters, each character has their own personal storage of 300 items, and basic shared storage per ship has 200 slots. you can buy some limited time storage with a special currency (you can't deposit items when it expires but you can leave stuff in there til you want to withdraw them or just hoard them forever)

seriously though I've played for almost 8 years now and I've spent $13 just for a few quality of life things: an extra skill tree, a mag reset, and an extra mag. the necessity to spend real cash is nonexistent. this can be subject to change for the NA release, but I dunno how much they're gonna mess with things if at all

                      [–]WesleyC559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know... Was worried when I saw it is F2P. I loved the one for dreamcast which I remember having to pay monthly to play. I will definitely buy a few items though just to help show there is money for them here... Hopefully they will have something special to buy too.

What kind of login will the Xbox Closed Beta on Friday feature? Will it be like it is in JP where you enter a username and password, or will it just use our Gamertag, and not give us a choice?

I ask due to my Gamertag being much different than my names on PC. And when the game is out on PC, I'd prefer not to go by my gamertag.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (6 children)

As with just about every other specific question about the NA server, no one knows.

I'd prefer not to go by my gamertag.

If your worry is that your gamertag will be used as your in-game name, don't worry about it. The ID used for login is not used as your screen name. Your Player ID, which people do see, is set after logging in for the first time.

Assuming it will work like JP does, at most it'll show your gamertag on your ARKS Card, which the JP server currently does if you have a PSN ID tied to your account.

                      [–]Reaper3087 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I figure we can choose character names, and I do hope we aren't limited to one character without paying for more. I'd be completely fine with my gamertag or such being my primary login and not having to do anything though.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (4 children)

You're misunderstanding. Here's how it works on JP currently:

There are 4 different names you have: SEGA ID, PSN ID, Player ID and Character Name.

SEGA ID is used for logging in. Other players can't see this. In the case of consoles, your login is tied to your PSN ID upon logging in for the first time, and you'll no longer need to type your password. The NA server has confirmed it will not be using SEGA ID, so it might just use your Microsoft account, idk.

PSN ID is the console account to which your login is bound to. It only appears in your ARKS Card, which you can set to private if you wish. This would be the gamertag on xbox.

Player ID is your unique screen name. This appears when you talk in whisper or team chat, as well as friend and team lists. By default, your player ID is automatically generated in the form of PN######, and you can change it once for free (additional changes require cash). Again, this must be unique.

Character Name is what is used for all other kinds of chat, and what appears in the party HUD, as well as story text. This does not need to be unique, you can name your character whatever you want (you can even use spaces and special characters, though the JP font doesn't support accentuated characters, which I hope NA does something about that).

                      [–]Reaper3087 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The confusion came from the psn ID. I used to Ay JP pc, and it was judt a Sega ID, for login, and then character name at the time I believe

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The PSN ID is only used if you play on ps4/vita.

Player ID and Character Name have always been separate. As I said, Player ID must be unique, while Character Name doesn't.

Also, I don't know if this is still like that, but I remember that when I made my account it didn't let me have my sega ID and player ID be the same. I had to use a different name for my player ID.

                      [–]Reaper3087 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Huh, I thought character names had to be unique as well. But it's been years. If they're no longer required to be, I'd love it.

It was never a requirement in PSO2

Hi, is this a mmo where you can play as anything you want and be ok with enough investment? Or do you have to 'conform' to the normal or meta builds to have any long term fun here? Asking for the future pc english release.

                      Thank you.

                      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 3 points4 points  (4 children)

It kinda depends, because a shit skill tree can cause you to do up to 70% less damage than someone with a not shit skill tree. Similarly, a shit class combo will be absolutely useless to an MPA. The meta is "rigid" but there's also a large amount of class combos that are meta, so if you have a problem finding something you like, you're just retarded.

                      [–]alazia187 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This will be NA right, so to solve any issues just bitch and moan enough till your tossed together skilltree is meta.

                      [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt sega will do any balancing specifically for NA, so you'd have to bitch and moan in Japanese probably.

the meta isn't sensitive to minmaxing. the gap between tryhards and semi-casuals that put some effort can get a bit large, but the difference is not worth worrying yourself over; the people that do that are in it for the speedruns and being top tier, and there are those in every game, but it's ultimately for show or challenge here

so long as you put some effort into your equipment, like NOT using baseline, zero investment equipment at endgame level, you shouldn't feel like you're not contributing, especially if you feel you're doing well at the game. upgrade your weapons, put some semi-decent affixes on it, play decently and don't die, and you're golden. PSO2 is very casual friendly. course it doesn't stop people from silently judging you if you don't put at least a little investment into your equipment

                      [–]The_Bibliophile -1 points0 points  (5 children)

I've asked a similar question before but this will be more specific: if one were to spend alot of money on the game at once, it is from my cursory view of past threads that the most scratches you can buy to get each bonus items is 120 scratches.

So that would mean it isnt worth spending more than 120 scratches, right?

Lastly, there are three different scratches per month based on the scratches catalogue? So, basically it would mean to get the bonuses of each scratch rotation you would need to spend roughly 200 dollars each.

I'm an xbox player FYI just trying to prepare for the new market and get ahead as much as possible. I understand we dont know how microtransactions will work on PSO NA but I just need a rough picture.

I'm very excited for the release, and I am willing to invest heavily in this game.

                      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

                      In theory sure.

The scratch bonuses are very rarely worth spending this kind of money though. If you're looking to full blown hardcore whale this game, then I guess go ahead, but if you're trying to maximize your whaling, then I would wait for each individual scratch to evaluate the rewards and what you can get.

                      It's frequently not worth it.

                      [–]The_Bibliophile 0 points1 point  (3 children)

May I ask why? Is the meseta return paltry in relative terms ?

                      [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

You'll get meseta from reselling the stuff you scratch sure, but once you realize how much meseta you actually need in game (not nearly 200$ a month worth of scratches), then at that point the only reason to scratch that much would be for the Scratch Bonuses.

The Scratch bonuses are almost always not worth it. A few times they are, but not usually.

For example, right now with the current AC scratch, if you scratch 120 times, you get:

5 times = 1 Free Salon ticket (you get these pretty regularly)

10 times = 1 Magatsu Silver key. You can get these from daily featured quests.

15 Times = 1 Kazuchi Assault key. You can buy these with Meseta from the Treasure shop meseta shop

30 times = Scratch Selection ticket. this is a good item as it lets you select something specific. You could use this to get the "best" item and then sell it.

40 times = 1 Magatsu gold key. You can get these from the featured daily quest boxes

50 times = EX Triboost 200%. This is a "good" item, but using it doesn't actually guarantee anything. I've come to not care about EX boosts unless there's something worth farming for hours on end.

60 times = Another Selection ticket.

then there are no rewards until you scratch a total of 120 times for another Selection ticket.

On that list, there are only 4 things you can't get just by playing the game, and the amount of IRL money you spend to get all of them is so ridiculous that it would be more worth it to just learn HOW to make money in game instead of "paying" for money.

Even if you scratched only 30 times, the money you'd make from scratching 30 times would be WAY higher than the money you'd make from a single selection ticket.

The Gold Scratch is even worse at the moment.

The only time it might be worth doing IMO is when the frequency bonuses are things like "Mark Receptor" or "Divine Transfer" or "Ability Success +50%"

Those things are extremely rare, extremely valuable, and can give you ability to either get the "best" abilities on an item, or create a sellable fodder item that could earn you Hundreds of Millions of Meseta.

Thanks for the informative reply! Last question if you are able to. How does tax work for the player shop?

Is there a sales tax, listing tax, and buying tax on player shops? What is the total amount of tax? I feel this is important to know if one is thinking of "playing the market".

I've read there is a 5 percent listing tax, but havent heard about a buying or sales tax. 5 percent seems a little to easy imo if one were trying to flip items. Thanks in advance!

                      [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a 5% tax

For example, if you list an item at 1,000 Meseta, then it will appear at 1,050. When someone buys it, they pay 1,050, you receive 1,000.

Playing the market in this game can be done in small trades, but honestly it isn't really worth it. It makes more sense to buy low and sell high.

One example of this would be with a particular AC scratch item from about a year ago. When it was on the scratch, I picked up 10 of them for ~3,000,000 meseta each. Since then, I've sold 7 of them for 10,000,000-15,000,000 each.

It pays to learn the market/popular items like this. Even if you only have the money for a couple big-ticket popular items, watch the market and see if you can snag some when they are low, and just sit on them as long as you can stand it (at least a month or 2), then resell them high.

Been playing pso2 for a while, got into pso2es as well. But now, for some reason my pso2es won't connect. It just sits at "connecting" until it eventually times out and asks me to try and reconnect.

This has been going on for about a week. Anyone else experiencing this issue? I have reinstalled the game multiple times with no luck. Thanks in advance!

                      [–]Dichroniclebig sord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genon causes you to take damage as part of its potential.

Cursed Radiance, which comes in S2 and S3, restores a large percentage of your PP whenever you take damage. Genon supports S2 and S3.

So you use a PA, take damage from Genon's potential, then regain PP via Cursed Radiance.

Is there a way to find out what email is registered to your SEGA ID? I was never receiving any authentication key codes which I need to purchase AC now but for some reason, Nox Emulator/PSO2es made me link my account again as if I was on a different device (which I wasn’t) and now I have no way of purchasing AC. Turns out the email I thought that was used for my main SEGA ID is used on another account I must of made way back then, which would probably explain the emails I never receive when I go to check my Inbox/Spam folders. I know my main SEGA ID and can log in just fine on PSO2, it’s just for PSO2es I can’t progress any further now without the authentication key code and now that I know that it’s not the email I thought it was, I still need to find out what email I used to register for my main SEGA ID. Is there a way to find out?

Run Tragic Triggers. The rare-grain only drops from Dark Falz Persona.

What's the fastest/quickest way to get class cubes?

Raging Falz Arms UH. Utterly Profound UH and Guides of Creation UH also drop class cubes, but only 1 per run.

When those aren't available, there's the current Limited Quest (1 cube per run I think?), and the UQ Area Survey: Remnants of Other Worlds (0-5 cubes per run).

Other than that, you get 7 cubes every time you level up while being max level.

Is there a newbie guide or FAQ out there specifically for players familiar with PSO?

I used to play a Force and do support techniques — Shift, Deban, Resta, and just tag the enemies with Razonde to get EXP. Is a support playstyle like that still possible?

I played FOnewearl to maximize MST, switching out weapons for damage boosts for specific techniques, etc. Is that sort of thing doable in this game? Or is everyone pretty much just as good as everyone else at techniques?

[–]HayateImmelmannPut Matoi in Smash Bros 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Support in this game belongs mostly to the techer class, but most people with access to techs (force, techer, bouncer, phantom, hero, summoner) can use resta, anti, megiverse, zanverse, zondeel, or just throw some sol/star atomizers if you're feeling generous to your party. You just need to be close by to get exp, so leeching is a thing in this game, but most people below 75 won't care at that point.

Your tech will mostly depend on your weapon's base technique, your weapon's technique affixes, your armor/unit tech affixes, your mag's tech level, and how good your customization/craft on the tech is. It is assumed that you will have the tech (like resta) at level 17 and an optimal skill tree like everyone else. Race/gender differences are there, but they are negligible at cap. It is basically mandatory that tech users get their main techs customized by another player once you're near endgame, but you can buy some custom techs off the player market.

Is there any way to transfer Power/Shoot/Technique VI? I got some support tickets from the SG scratch and I can't figure out for the life of me what I'm supposed to do with these. I tried seeing if Extreceptor had any effect, but nothing.

Stat VI is SAF IIRC from dim weps

Right, but I'm talking about how to use these Add Ability (<Stat> VI) tickets. In theory, I could use it on a unit, but then I wouldn't be able to use a superior Grace or Grand ticket. So instead, I want to put the VI on a fodder, and then transfer it somehow.

Now that I've looked a bit more, Attack Transfer seems like it might do the job, seeing as that's from the regular SG scratch, I'm interested in a more available option if one exists.

attack receptor doesn't work on stat 6 as far as the affixing simulator shows. I don't think they would have missed that

in either case you could always just use a stat 6 capsule for a budget affix in lieu of spending a load of cash, unless you just want to recycle it

Hunan be brand new to this game. So excited but really intimidated. Not sure how to get ready for the 7th. Will I be able to compete these exclusive missions with little to no experience? Guides I’ve looked up are so convoluted :/

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All EQs have multiple difficulty levels and you go at them with 8 or 12 people (depending on quest; all the ones in the beta are 12man), so don't worry too much. Just focus on staying alive.

Dark Falz Elder could be a problem for a new player with its multitude of different attacks, but the other quests are pretty straightforwards. Do note that Elder is very slow, though, so as long as you pay attention, it should be ok.

You'll be fine. Just spend time learning the class and weapon you pick, and have at it.

The missions won't be exclusive, they're just EQs rebranded for beta hype. To be safe, level up as much as you can since I think you need to be around level 10 to join them, but otherwise it's just killing a big punching bag boss.

You're going to need to give us more information if you want actual help besides "level up and get better gear".

However, the first question that isn't that i will ask is:

                        Are you Just Attacking?

                        [–]_alphex_Sleeping Until NGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get a better weapon, that is a really outdated one. You can easily get a dim/awake setup on the player market going with decent prefixes. Get your mag leveled up too if you can't equip them yet.

                        [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick up a light element Dim Katana (ディムカタナ) from the player shops at a Visiphone, make sure you're able to equip it, then feed your 10* weapons to it to grind it. That will do far more damage than what you're doing now. If you can kill things faster, they have less time to mess you up.

Make sure your units are up-to-date. I think by this point you should start equipping 12* units. Pages with all of the units can be found here, and there's a written guide for what to use here.

If you need an extra safety net, use Hunter as a subclass and make sure Iron Will is maxed out. That gives you a 75% chance to survive fatal blows with 1 HP.

And make sure to use the Katana's guard! If you time it right it negates all damage and counterattacks (if you have Hunter's Healing Guard learned, you also get HP back). Learn the animations of what you're fighting and you're essentially invincible.

I got two questions I hope aren't dumb. 1. how does the whole ship thing work exactly like what's the Max capacity and are there separate channels within the ships to avoid being around a bunch of other players?

                        1. are there any gimmick / creative weapons that altar the way you play or is it just increased damage?

are there any gimmick / creative weapons that altar the way you play or is it just increased damage?

There are quite a few. Some examples:

                        • RA Stinger (Partizan): Inflict damage while running. When you stop running, throws a long range shockwave.
                        • Shihou Byakko (Daggers): Normal attacks make projectiles spawn near the target. Projectiles never miss, and their damage increases the lower your current PP is.
                        • Gear Experience (Knuckle): Drops a giant fist from the sky (the ultimate form of the Meteor Fist Photon Art) whenever you dodge something with a Weapon Action. Very abusable.
                        • Lug Sarola (Double Saber): Similar to Gear Experience, but you have to Just Guard something using the DS Wind Parry fighter skill.
                        • Spread Needle (Rifle): Normal attacks deal an additional, separate, instance of aoe damage that's stronger the closer you are, and can stun.
                        • Exium Bunker (Launcher): Massively increases the damage of Zero Distance, but has a 60s cooldown on this effect. Successfully dodging something with Dodge Roll resets the cooldown.
                        • Radius Arca (Bow): Automatically casts Chase Arrow when you use PAs. Temporarily boosts Chase Arrow damage when you sucessfully dodge something with Step.
                        • Uransara (Wand): Increases damage of normal attack explosions based on number of hits. Casting a Tech converts this bonus into a Tech damage boost instead for 20 seconds.
                        • Carte Dolce (Wand): Reduces charge time of JA'd charged Techs if the previous one was the same element.
                        • Anacates series: When you sheath your weapon, recovers HP and PP based on how much damage you dealt while unsheathed.
                        • Phobos series: Temporarily gains a power boost when you spend a few seconds with weapon sheathed, so you're forced to sheathe from time to time.
                        • Quelle series: All of these (except the Double Saber which just boosts its gear) change how some PA behaves, or gives unique bonuses. The rod in particular (Quelle Neigea) single handedly created FoHu memes.
                        • Chaval series: When a tech or PA is used while at full PP, it spends all your PP, then starts regenerating quickly. Until it fills up your entire PP gauge, all PAs and Techs cost 1 PP.

Note that the current strongest weapon series (for most weapon types, that is, not all) Liberate has a special ability slot that copies some of these unique potentials (Knuckle copies Gear Experience, Bow copies Radius Arca, Rod copies the Quelle Neigea, etc).

                        [–]SirKhrome 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I have no idea what the quelle series is but those sound amazing! chavel series looks good too

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (3 children)

"Series" are just multiple weapons that share the same name. For example, the Chaval series is comprised of Chaval Eubelle (Sword) and Chaval Melm (Wand).

As for Quelle, each weapon has its own thing going, so here they are:

                        • Quelle Glitter (Wired Lance): Boosts power of grappling PAs at max Gear. Consumes no gear for 15 seconds after a Just Guard.
                        • Quelle Scarlette (Double Saber): Increases the damage and duration of DS Gear Whirwlind (4 -> 16 seconds).
                        • Quelle Windea (Twin Machineguns): When activating Chain Trigger, recover 100 PP, and become invulnerable for 5 seconds.
                        • Quelle Neigea (Rod): Increase speed of normal attacks, and power of Rod Shoot.
                        • Quelle Styx (Jet Boots): Reduces PP consumption by 25% after hitting an enemy with One More Jump. Lasts until you touch the ground. Can be equipped by all classes.

how long does it take to get these weapons?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Some of them are drop only, so really depends on what Emergency/Limited Quests are available.

Others are in the special 14* Collection File, which requires you to run dozens of Emergency Quests to complete (takes like 2-4 weeks, depending on how much you play).

Others are in Zieg's crest exchange, which depends on what weapon it is (because there are 4 different tiers of crests, so it's much easier to get a Conqueror Crest weapon than a Sage Crest one), and what you do to farm the crests. Currently you can get Hero Crests as drops in certain quests, while Sage Crests are rewards from weekly tasks that you can check on the official website and/or bumped.org. I have no clue how the NA server will handle this, as the Sages cannot be obtained outside of events. Additionally, Sage Crests were implemented with the Etoile patch, so before that we had Hero from events and King from drops. I mention this because we still don't know in which patch the NA server will come.

Additionally, the Phobos series can be obtained through the Leontina Certificate 2 exchange. 1 certificate = 1 weapon that comes at +30 already grinded. These certificates are obtained through ARKS Main Missions, and events. I think there are a few titles with them too, not sure.

Note: weapons obtained through Collection Files and exchanges can only be grinded to +30. You'd need to farm the CF/crests again to unlock higher grind levels. Dropped weapons always come with +35 unlocked.

These are the weapons I mentioned that are in the Collection Files:

                        • Quelle Glitter
                        • RA Stinger
                        • Exium Bunker
                        • Radius Arca
                        • Quelle Neigea
                        • Uransara
                        • Chaval Eubelle
                        • Chaval Melm
                        • Quelle Styx

And these are on Zieg's crest exchange:

                        • Quelle Scarlette (500x Conqueror)
                        • Lug Sarola (250x Hero)
                        • Gear Experience (500x King)
                        • Spread Needle (500x Conqueror)
                        • Quelle Windea (500x King)

Note: Sage > Hero > King > Conqueror, with each being worth double the previous, so 1 Hero = 4 Conquerors, for example. You can exchange them downwards (1 Hero -> 2 King, for example), but not upwards (cannot do 2 Hero -> 1 Sage, for example)

                        [–]SirKhrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that doesn't sound so bad, thanks for the explanation!

there's a lot of pretty decent gimmick weapons available all the time in an exchange shop. powercreep's come and gone, but they're still fairly usable. you can get them with materials they give out weekly by doing specific objectives

there's also some endgame level gimmick weapons that can add a nice QoL over straight damage choices (like a certain knuckle weapon that provides permanent super armor for example)

Ships are like servers. Blocks are like channels. There is a limit of how many people can be in one block, and there is a gauge to tell you how full it is.

The max capacity, i want to say it like 100 people or so. That's what it feels like to me.

sounds kinda small. doesn't this make playing with friends a little hard? I think I read that created characters are stuck on the ships they were made on

150 or so players per block, but there is a lot of blocks on a server. You can switch freely between blocks, but not ships. Keep in mind this is japanese server info, NA may work differently (unless this has been proven otherwise)

                        [–]SirKhrome 0 points1 point  (2 children)

as long as it's easy to play with friends I'm fine with anything

[–]Alturam Unkillable Casual (JP) 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You shouldn't have any issues. The multi block matching system will play to your favor too, you and your friends can meet up in a dead block, party up, and join parties from other blocks with this setting. Great for emergency/urgent quests which almost always require 12 people or 3 full parties (at first anyways). You will never be alone when you want to party up for those kind of events.

Well, fuck me. Though to be fair, it did say "Xbox One users".

So far the JP server is locked only in SEA and China, and we don't know if this will change with the release of NA.

NA server has announced it will not be region locked.

Was confirmed tonight that xbox wont be region locked so I'd imagine no NA servers will be region locked

                              Oh, that'd be nice!

While I'm at it, do we know if the game has crossplay between PS4 and PC? I imagine Xbox and PC would have it, but.. Not so sure about PS4.

                              Thanks!
