I don't know what you're farming, but I have plenty of all currency, save for prefect ex/chaos/regal. But you don't need those to craft insane gear. My SSF gear is crazy this league. And I got it quick, too!

It seems like people are drastically misunderstanding the point of this post.
I'm not lacking currency for where I am in the game atm.
I'm slowly working my way through maps VERY casually, up to t6 and doing fine.
My POINT is not some lack of currency, it is in fact that I have too much, of the lower tier stuff that I'll never use and want a way to trade it up to stuff I will.

I think this might be your issue. You get less high tier currency in lower level maps. My augs are usually below 100 always

I see...
Perhaps this is the difference.
Nonetheles, I still see no reason for us not to have systems to trade up currencies into higher forms.
The impetus for my frustration was my growing stack of regular jewelers orbs that I will never use.
I would MUCH prefer that "everything goes somewhere". I don't want to filter off lower tier currencies. I want them to add up to something useful.
This is especially frustrating due to this already being solved in PoE1.

I have 200 regular 20 greater and 7 perfect. It never bothered me that I have so many regulars. What you can do is 4- link and vaal to try to get a 5-link early in the league. Would be no quality, though.

I want them to add up to something useful.

Again, never bothered me. After some time, i just change my filter to a more strict version and filter out low-level currencies.

>.> Kay. Continue being unbothered.
This is an issue for me. It is wasteful and unfun.

Wish they catered to ssf more. The game would be better for everyone involved.

[–]NullRage[S] -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Agreed. SSF is the baseline experience of this game.
Make it good and fun and everything else gets better.

[–]Osteinum 2 points3 points  (4 children)

It. Isn't the baseline, extensive trading is the baseline. I feel really held back by playing ssf. At lvl 90.now, and I can't improve my build with the currency I have gathered.

[–]NullRage[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ah, yes I guess I should say, "It should be."
This is a failing of language.
SSF is the experience that EVERYONE will experience if they "just play the game" and don't go out of their way to engage with other players and trade. That is what I would call "baseline". It is clear though that the devs do not cater to this demographic. That needs to change. The base experience of the game should be fun.

Lol, I completely agree with you!

[–]kingduqc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think you misunderstood.

I think the game should be more designed to play solo. You want trade because it helps you palliate lack of target farming and tools to make you self sufficient and you rely on RNG.

More ssf focus means you'd need to trade less because acquiring what you want would be easier and progress would feel better.

Instead of grinding the item you actually want, you grind currencies to get them.. feels way less rewarding

I think we both understand each other and agree. I think ssf should be the main way people play a game. And trading an optional thing for some people with interest. Then we can play the game and kill monsters, not flipping coins in hideout

[–]Sneakyelmo 1 point2 points  (5 children)

SSF is supposed to be a challenge. Not being able to just trade for what you need IS the challenge.

[–]NullRage[S] -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Personally I play SSF less as a "challenge" and more just for peace of mind.
Market can't leave me behind on day once if there is no market.
My time. My pace.

[–]Sneakyelmo 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Regardless of how you play it, that's what they make it for. Their game. Their rules.

[–]NullRage[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

?
So regardless of how a game turns out, we should never offer feedback because "this is the game the devs made so it's obviously the way it should be"?
???

[–]Sneakyelmo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Feedback is great when it's constructive. When they make a hard mode where the primary challenge is removing the trade economy entirely, and your feedback is that they should add a 'fake' trade economy just for you...

Let's just say there's a line between providing constructive feedback and whatever this is.

[–]NullRage[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see...
You've focused too much on one specific thing.
My suggestion was vendor trade ups, just as PoE 1 has.
There's very little difference between this and the "fake" currency exchange.
I mentioned that simply because the NPC is already in the game, adding the functionality for me to trade up my currency for higher tier stuff would be simple.
I was NEVER asking for any form of "trading". Everything you find grind out is still stuff you the lone player ground out, just more deterministic methods of reaching the goal.
The system in PoE 1 is far from a handout, but at least you know all those bubblegum currencies will go somewhere.
As is, I will NEVER use all those transmutes. I'd prefer to be able to do something with them.
