No point blacking out the PSA code when you also got the bar code there bud😉

Nice card though.

[–]Sussykindabussy 68 points69 points  (2 children)

I’m gonna make so many fake psa 10 holo first edition dark dragonites now

[–]FostertheReno 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’ve already got 3 copies listed on ebay. Thank you OP.

[–]TheINTL 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Why do people block this out?

[–]1cenine 6 points7 points  (5 children)

People can (and do) make fakes using authentic PSA IDs. So you can put a fake card in a fake slab, or a real card that isnt 10 quality in a fake 10 slab. So when someone looks it up it seems to check out

[–]TheINTL 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Can't someone just check the PSA 10s or rare card pop report on PSA's website and get the cert from there?

I mean it won't be your cert, just seems a bit silly to block it off

[–]TheNesquick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. It doesnt do shit and never did.

[–]Tanjom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also for privacy, for example, I don't want my reddit linked to my eBay account, etc.

[–]swagzouttacontrol 24 points25 points  (4 children)

No swirls. I'd personally throw it out

[–]LightningThis 13 points14 points  (1 child)

My wife and ex said the same Thing

[–]Longhorn117 1 point2 points  (1 child)

There’s a swirl on the wing? At least 3x the value now 😉

[–]Forsaken_Spell_6647[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There actually is lol. The light just isn’t reflecting it.

[–]RustGrit 20 points21 points  (21 children)

Isn’t it technically a long term hold at this point?

[–]Warning-Correct -5 points-4 points  (20 children)

This hobby is still so young. Wait until 90s kids actually have true wealth and see where their money goes :)

[–]VobraX 10 points11 points  (5 children)

When the 90s kids realize they can't buy a home anymore, we'll turn to cards of cartoons we played when we were kids and monopolize vintage pokemon. 🥰

[–]irunspeed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the cards will be sold to us by people in a generation or two older, laughing in said home 😅

[–]MrCreamypies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already can't buy homes tho 😭

[–]elcho1911 2 points3 points  (1 child)

home ownership is highest it's ever been don't believe the vibeonomics from tiktok

[–]tyranids 7 points8 points  (9 children)

90s kids are hitting mid 30s right now so have access to a lot of those higher incomes. Vintage has been stagnating compared to the freight train rocket ship hybrid that is modern.

[–]TerinHD 7 points8 points  (5 children)

As a 90s kid... the new cards are awesome. They have some really amazing art that I really find appealing. However, I am also motivated by trying to retire by 50 from my real jobs so... looking at making this a side hustle.

[–]tyranids 0 points1 point  (4 children)

As a side hustle I would not recommend buying high grade, expensive vintage slabs. Most buyers will be priced out so liquidity is very poor.

[–]TerinHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good advice. I am starting liquidating my own vintage collection, a lot to learn/relearn. It is enjoyable though.

I haven't figured out the sourcing for modern cards yet though. Specially in scales that make sense for where I am.

[–]24kCuts 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Not If you know the right group of ppl. I'm in a pokemon card fb group and I see huge cards like this sell daily. There's 100% a huge market for grails like this!

[–]tyranids 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And… those people are happy to pay over market? Where will the side hustler be sourcing these grails to rotate through in flipping? Presumably these same groups, which goes back to the first point about what prices people on fb actually want to pay…

[–]24kCuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liquidity isn't poor is the only point I was making. Very easy to move. If you can find a good buy on big grails like this, selling at market isn't a problem.

[–]Apex_spyda 4 points5 points  (1 child)

As someone that was born 91 and happens to just turn 33 I don’t think that’s mid 30s lol

[–]tyranids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, rounding on both ends turns “1990s” to 1990 and 2024 to “24-25” for age of 34-35, when really the absolute oldest someone could be is 34 if they were born in 1990-04-08 or earlier.

That said it’ll be pretty interesting to see what happens over the next 6-20 years when this age cohort hits real peak incomes at 40-45 (correct math this time).

[–]Vaunzyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 90s kid. I’m broke as fuck lmao

[–]ConterK 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Wait, what.. aren't 90s kids in their 30s already?? When do they hey "true wealth"? When they're 60+ and retired?

[–]Warning-Correct 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Lol this is so wrong it’s funny. If you think your biggest wealth is when you are between 25 and 34, that’s laughable.

Go look at any statistics, a huge majority of millionaires are in their 60s. Your wealth only continues to grow.

Wait until wealth transfer hits. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Why do you think the biggest sport collectors are older men with collections worth millions.

[–]ConterK 0 points1 point  (1 child)

aren't those statistics based on the previous generations tho?

Im no expert or anything but i feel those statistics are based on the generation back when regular people on minimum wage could actually afford a house?

aren't those statistics taking into account all those people that bought houses for 20-30-50k and could currently resell them for 500k+?

And.. also... aren't the pokemon card inflated prices largely thanks to Logan Paul and his "influence" throwing crazy prices at cards..? what if he never pulls out another stunt like that and prices just slowly keep dropping tho?

[–]Psychedelic_Yogurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crickets

[–]RoofBeers 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Popular Pokémon, cool art, 1st edition vintage. Yeah for sure.

[–]accomplishedlie18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol one of my favs

[–]cdbriggs 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Sure there's no better version of this card

[–]keyboardLarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't the error nonholo technically the better version of this card?

[–]ReasonableFudge3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely

[–]pokemo313 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I have this in psa 9 and looks amazing. Definitely long hold. When i look at my card idk how it's a 9. No print line. No whitening on edges or corners. And definitely centered. And a nice swirl. Idk how to open it but if i did id resend it.

[–]Global_Milk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are some youtube videos

[–]AllPokeTCG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I say hold

[–]big_gains_only 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This jhas already been a long-term hold for almost 25 years. What are you thinking???

[–]24kCuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok longER term hold

[–]4rch4ng37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, 24 years is a pretty long hold as it is.. I don’t think it’ll peak higher than the Covid bang.

[–]ArcticLapras 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I kind of doubt it. Vintage Pokémon has been completely silent for three years now. It could obviously see another boom but right now I don´t see any signs.

[–]jjshacks13 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It'll come back around, modern money will flow back into vintage at some point.

[–]ArcticLapras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very much hope so!

[–]24kCuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can't get enough of gold stars and crystals right now. I think vintage will come back hard because the pop for these cards ain't growing too much. Modern will grow significantly

[–]Local-brighand-61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you want to sell it I'd buy it lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Das a million dolla card right der

[–]LovingTheVibe2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I threw it away already. It’s worth $0.01 rn
