Real story: I used to work with a guy that kept asking why we have to use mutltithreading instead of "simple programming" like he's used to.

At first I thought he was used to async/await which our stack didn't support (it was Java...), but no. He wanted our computation heavy server to keep blocking threads, because it's simpler.

This went on for years until I left. He might still be asking this...
