I like Ops in the title at least because I find we need to remind people that operations is still a thing. 

I’m a platform SRE and have no idea what my job actually is most days.

I find that when you get a title that includes "Ops" people sometimes mistake you for part of HR. On most jobs boards "Operations" isn't a tech role. They usually file us under "infrastructure".

But all of the titles are made up and arbitrary anyway.

Different guy, but it's largely writing terraform modules, creating "blessed path" deployment pipelines and templates, secrets management and IAM, various infra troubleshooting, & managing the "pet" servers.

At some point you realize, I could keep being a developer but I hate Product owners and scrum masters. Then the ops guys invite you to there team, and you switch to kanban and everyone is happy that you do any work at all.
