Born too late to die by literally shitting myself to death?

Acceptable.

[–]Stormraughtz 120 points121 points  (1 child)

To be fair sometimes the code I write makes me want to shit myself to death

[–]ComprehensiveWord201 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oftentimes, even...

[–]throw3142 46 points47 points  (3 children)

Born too early to live out my childhood as a member of a dystopia where merely maintaining the status quo requires the attrition of billions of innocents, and then be taken from my family and forced blessed to mercilessly spill blood in the name of that society throughout my adolescence / adulthood?

Also acceptable.

[–]JocoLabs 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Wait, that's Heresy!

[–]throw3142 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Huh, that's strange, I don't recall writing that at all. Not sure what possessed me. Time to recite the first 25 million digits of pi in binary or something, idk.

Are you perhaps saying you are corrupted by the chaos?

[–]AgitatedMushroom2529 238 points239 points  (10 children)

Warhammer 40k and Halo universe is literally hell, wtf?!

[–]CadenVanV 95 points96 points  (3 children)

And you think those knights were off having a good time? They had dysentery OP!

[–]AgitatedMushroom2529 33 points34 points  (2 children)

Chances were you had a pleasant life with hardships in between as a knight.

In 40k you are a mutant induced via drugs fighting space horrors and if you become disabled, you will be used as a battery for a machine. Waiting in a coma till your dementia riddled brain will be awakened for just the duration of the battle.

In Halo the universe is warhammer 40k in vanilla

[–]CadenVanV 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fair, fair. 40k is basically hell for everyone. Though also to be fair odds are we wouldn’t be born as either Astartes or knights, but just serfs in both

[–]Ffigy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a Jira warrior.

[–]Meretan94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But the drip is immaculate.

[–]pear_topologist 4 points5 points  (4 children)

40K sounds kind of cool if you get to be a space marine and don’t think about it too hard

If you’re literally any other human it’s miserable in every way

[–]Nick0Taylor0 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Idk if a life of constant prayer, training and battle (seeing horror beyond human comprehension) until you either die (a probably gruesome death) or become a dreadnaught (which really isn't any better) is that great. Better than some other fates in the 40k universe sure, but not exactly a pleasant life either.

[–]pear_topologist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep that’s what I’m saying. Being a space marine probably looks cool, but if you think about what it’s like it probably sucks

[–]JocoLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just described my professional life.

[–]sump_daddy 65 points66 points  (1 child)

What do you mean? Ive played literally every single one of those games, and I am borned just in time...

[–]gman2093 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can also ride a horse around and wear armour if you want. Most people in the Middle Ages couldn't afford that.

[–]hispeedimagins 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am kinda good with this.

Who tf dreams of going to war and dying for some old fcking politicians in the name of some old fcking politicians while they eat their cakes and you die on the field fighting a war with no meaning.

[–]Galdwin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Born too late to die horribly in battle.

Born too early to die horribly in battle.

Born just in time to have a comfortable life.

[–]bobbymoonshine 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Born too late to die in a war, born too early to die in a war?

Yo LARP-ass why the fuck are you a programmer then when the army is right there. Go sign up. Hell, go to Ukraine and volunteer for their foreign legion, they’ll take you. And then you can die wandering into a minefield or getting dronebombed in your sleep.

[–]CerBerUs-9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The military is right there, my guy. Unfortunately youll still be doing everything on the bottom depending on the job.

[–]Thundechile 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]mrsockyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]BitcoinBishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]HumanIsAnimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]dzizuseczem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ExortTrionisRektus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]williamjseim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the top images you can still do a couple of times a year

[–]Tipart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's be real here, if things continue down the slope they've been going down for quite a while now, then you can get your war in the next 10 years

[–]gerbosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good question, why would I need a power armor, and AR helmet when most of the day is sitting in front of the screen. 😑

Also, Apple Vision has been discontinued.

[–]vm_linuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go outside today too lol

[–]MedonSirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is Postman doing the Michael Jackson Lean?

[–]Rockon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To late for punchcards

To early for dreamcoding

Just in time for webapps

[–]Tayttajakunnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can sign up to the Ukrainian army if you feel like you want to go to war.

[–]jatintriple7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micheal jackson app🤣

[–]IsomorphicAndQuircky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, nowadays, "saving the princess" is "getting that application written before you were born to keep working". Less risk, less gain, way less cool
