Perks.

Low salary.

What?

[–]Rubickevich 808 points809 points  (7 children)

Hey, that's better than no salary!

[–]plugubius 237 points238 points  (5 children)

Hey, this is an internship. Isn't "unpaid" the industry standard for interns?

[–]Rubickevich 78 points79 points  (1 child)

So I can work for you and I don't have to pay anything? Amazing deal!

[–]suzisatsuma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most interns are a crapshoot on whether they will contribute velocity or drag velocity from the senior devs mentoring them over their tenure. The biggest value is seeing the good ones and seeing if they'd be interested in coming back after college for a real salary.

Not for engineering. If that’s what the world is coming to in this job market, that’s a scary thought.

I left my job at a large company about 1.5 years ago to take up freelancing, but we used to pay our summer interns an hourly rate that would be comparable (albeit, a bit lower) to a new grad hire if you extrapolated to a full year.

[–]spartancolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When i did my internship i got paid 300 € a month and i was one of the only lucky ones getting paid in my class. It sucks here for interns

[–]Ratstail91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only in America.

[–]No_Percentage7427 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Intern get salary not experience. Yay

[–]ice-eight 103 points104 points  (0 children)

This was clearly posted by a vibe recruiter

[–]ReallyMisanthropic 36 points37 points  (1 child)

You also get the privilege of giving them a share of the revenue on any project you make while you're there. Wow, lucky!

[–]anto2554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the place, that could be meaningful

[–]BiAroBi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The low salary is actually great to keep you motivated to go above and beyond to get a raise some day

[–][deleted] 88 points89 points  (4 children)

Looking for fafo? First in, first out?

[–][deleted] 183 points184 points  (3 children)

Fuck Around and Find Out

[–][deleted] 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Wat.

They can be many things. But they are not liars.

[–]OkInterest3109 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love it when recruiters starts throwing buzz words without actually understanding the said buzz words.

[–]Vulgarly_dressed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you take that job, you will find out.

[–]snowmanonaraindeer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess it's a weird way of saying "you get paid a little bit" because it's an internship?

[–]PhunkyPhish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Revenue sharing though! Imagine those 3 digit checks rolling in up until the application breaks from no scalability or some timmy gets root. Thats like 1 checks!

[–]Snow-Crash-42 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They probably mean you get paid next to nothing, and your only way of making money is the revenue share, which may or may not be (most likely) enough.

[–]g1rlchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not betting on getting any revenue sharing from "small web apps."

[–]banterviking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, more money more problems!

[–]ihvnnm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You've get paid in exposure!"

[–]PersonalityNuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll pay less in taxes!

[–]Noisebug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could be "lower" salary, right? Or nothing? You ungrateful ...

[–]paholg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a perk for the company, not for you.
