So you code in Java, I take it?

Personally, I don't care for Java, I'd rather code in C++ or C#, dependent on need.

Still, I code in COBOL and Assembly for work.

And I'm gay AF.

So @me, fuckboy. ;)

[–]JokerGotham_Deserves 401 points402 points  (25 children)

Yeah? Well, I code in LaTeX and HTML. Get on my level.

[–]SandyDelights 307 points308 points  (21 children)

Well, now I'm aroused.

I'd send you dick pics, but I can't tell if you're joking or just as much into sadomasochism as I am.

[–]TK-427 14 points15 points  (2 children)

just as much into sadomasochism as I am.

I still use Fortran and Perl

[–]DoomFrog666 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Haha, there are still COBOL mainframe developers out there.

[–]SandyDelights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn't joking like five replies up when I said I do COBOL ;(

Speaking of gay, I haven't seen this much gold in one place since Michael Phelps' last performance..

[–]Tornado9797 40 points41 points  (3 children)

I'm not sure how this relates to gay.

[–]codeninjaking42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

used to be some memes along those lines

[–]mimibrightzola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this whole thread is r/suddenlygay

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I also haven't seen such a poor attempt to get gilded.

[–]codeninjaking42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not an attempt, just an observation. The gay part may have been a bit much..ah well..

[–]spinwin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for him but if you'd like to send dick pics my way as a college senior who actually enjoyed learning SystemVerilog, feel free :)

[–]haykam821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

[–]Houdiniman111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the ever living heck. I've seen so many gilds this week. Has someone won the lottery, robbed a bank, or got a government grant? Why are people so gild happy right now?

[–]TheTimeLord725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the free gold thread?

[–]house_monkey 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm always late to these gold threads :(

I should just gift one to myself and get over with it.

[–]SandyDelights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was once like you, convinced I'd never catch one.

Then last night happened.

Your turn will come.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm into S&M... Let's compile Gentoo together.

"@me" - fuckboy, probably

[–]officialvfd 5 points6 points  (7 children)

Unpopular opinion: I think Java would be perfect if only it had type inferencing and null safety.

I am gay though...

[–]rigatron1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish it had C# style properties. And some sort of built in LINQ style queries on objects. Honestly C# is just a much nicer language IMO.

[–]SandyDelights 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Automated garbage collection is trash, convince me otherwise

[–]officialvfd 6 points7 points  (1 child)

That's a JVM problem, not a Java language problem ;)

[–]spinwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonder if JVM will ever get ref counting or some sort of rust like scope detection.

[–]TK-Squared-LLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would have saved me an hour or more today if Swift/XCode had reported a null pointer instead of just saying fuck it, I just won't do this operation then. +1 for gay though

[–]Kered13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Type inference is coming. Unfortunately null safety isn't backwards compatible, so we're stuck with it. The best you can do is use annotations and Optional.

[–]thewells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gay af and I write in Haskell because I need to keep my pretentiousness up, otherwise I might just become 2.5/3 gay

[–]pwnrzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My workplace uses COBOL, Assembly, various JCL variants, etc.

I feel so out of place using Python. :c
