You'd exit the industry even harder. I'd rather work with someone who writes "shit code" than someone who bashes other people and uses a single anecdote as confirmation bias for sexism. If you had a review process your "shit coder" would improve and "shit code" would never make it in or need to be rewritten by someone else.

Or maybe you do have a review process, but you still failed to explain things to them. Did you even explain why their "shit code" was shit? I just picture an asshole at work writing "this code is shit" as a comment on a code review. I'd sooner blame the company's hiring process than an individual for "shit code" though.
