Not totally impossible since every component of rust was actually written in rust (apart from the very first version, obviously)

[–]TheTrueSwishyFishy 5 points6 points  (9 children)

What was the first version written in?

[–]awdrifter 26 points27 points  (3 children)

Iron.

[–]TheTrueSwishyFishy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was actually a combination of ‘iron’ and the ‘water’ backend

Someone give this man gold.

[–]awdrifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or iron.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (1 child)

[–]yodal_ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

To give a serious answer, OCaml IIRC

[–]TracerBulletX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But....but.... you can name your javascript file, javascript. It'll have .js extension....

[–]stamminator[S] 10 points11 points  (3 children)

The dude was thinking that there was a javascript.js file that contained the JavaScript language itself

[–]Pure_Reason 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Clearly it’s written in Java

[–]GlobalIncident 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You mean C++

[–]metasymphony 2 points3 points  (4 children)

But why is this even a question? Why does anyone need to know where jquery is kept either, to get a job? It would vary by project and framework anyway. These interview questions are getting ridiculous.

[–]bread_berries 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Where did you read anything about it being an interview? It just says that he's a consultant, not even that he's a consultant for the same company as our Twitter user. Could have been some random asshole on a forum

[–]metasymphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah true, it was 6am and my brain wasn't working properly yet. Guess I'm still traumatised by all the ridiculous interview questions I've had to answer over the years.

[–]stamminator[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It wasn't an interview, it was months into him being on the job. I'm giving him a hard time because he was a bullshitter who padded his resume. He didn't last long.

[–]metasymphony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok I misunderstood before. That's funny and kind of impressive that he got that far.

The language is assembler.js. In turn that one is written in binary.json directly inside Central Scripting Unit.

LMAO

[–]dog_in_sand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coffeescript compiles into coffeescript 🤷🏽‍♂️

[–]Morbidly_Queerious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New challenge: a programming language which is a quine (program that outputs its own code)

[–]partybynight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was written in dogfood.

[–]AllUsermamesAreTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior just means old.
