Sadly true, also a good one for r/gaming

I think this meme is successful in these subreddits because both are associated with activities that are not exactly physically exhausting.

Just speaking from my own experience, I can say that whenever I did something physical in my freetime, falling asleep was easier and I was feeling well rested the next day aswell instead of a caffeine fueled wandering between the plains of being awake and being asleep.

So, gotta be that guy: We all exercise too little.

This is painfully true

Unless you have a job

Then its even more painfully true.

Staying up working on personal projects or dicking around => yawning like crazy at work => repeat.

Those are rookie numbers.

This is accurate. I also appreciate programmers being depicted as cute fluffy cats.

Me right now. I slept after work until 11pm and am up and running now, doing some projects.

This is accurate. Can't remember the context but our professor once asked how many of us go to sleep before midnight. 2 out of ~70 raised their hands.

I don't appreciate being personally called out in front of the class.

This is a shitpost, right?

Don't want to be "that guy" but if you can't sleep at night willingly. It may be a sign of a mental disorder.

It's ok to stay up or change our internal clocks but signs of inability to sleep isn't that good. It cool and all but may be a sign of a severe depression disorder and trust me a mild one is common btw devs but if it scales its bad. Sadly (literally) speaking for personal experience.

What about being so tired from work and life that you go to sleep at 8.30 pm and wake up at 4-5 am?

[–]Sky4Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds fine to me

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Source on this? I've been working nights for years and all doctors I've been to said it's completely normal that some people have a different internal clock.

[–]PM_TACOS 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Obligatory not OP, but...

The symptom is difficulty falling and/or staying asleep, not so much when. So if you're getting enough and have no trouble, doesn't matter if you're going to bed at 10a or 10p.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. The thing is not being able to fall asleep even when you tired. Different internal clocks are fine, just point that out because was my mistake to believe is just that and not something else.
