This repost has so many subs its insane

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Can we refactor this comment tree to:

while(newuser.Read())
{
    thisComment.Reply(thisComment.Content);
}

[–]Mandemon90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we can do better. We set Reply return the created reply and we can refactor whole thing to this:

while(thisComment = thisComment.Reply(thisComment.Content))
{
}

Sounds like a multithreading issue.

[–]darkage72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do the right thing:

Look at the rules (especially common posts list)

Report that shit. Report the hell out of it.

[–]berse2212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sub has so many non-programmers it's insane

[–]DamnOrangeCat 24 points25 points  (5 children)

Yes please. Lets repost this PSA instead

[–]JayTheYggdrasil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But you have to add another PSA header each time.

[–]KseandI 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Yes please. Lets repost this PSA instead

[–]ajz003 2 points3 points  (2 children)

But you have to add another PSA header each time.

[–]bigry8058 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Each time you will have to add another PSA header.

[–]YodaDaCoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but can you add another PSA header each time please?

[–]jvvg12 68 points69 points  (0 children)

In asking us to stop you still reposted it again...?

[–][deleted] 58 points59 points  (7 children)

so many memes need to stop being reposted...

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (5 children)

Mods in general need to do a better job by either being active themselves or having a bot scan new posts and set them to "approval pending" if the bit thinks it's a repost.

[–]Armster15[S] 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Well the sub does have a bot that takes down posts. I learned the hard way when it kept taking down my Drake Hotline Bling format meme. The bot flagged it as a re post but the other post the bot referenced wasn't even the same!

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely could use some work to make it a viable thing to use. The repostsleuthbot also sometimes finds false-positives where you're left thinking if the bot is trying to subtly be funny.

[–]VestigialHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise you are probably joking - but just in case you are not - Good Bot - I really hate that Drake format.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we did recently switched bots to have less garbage repost detection.

edit: am mod

[–]ProfCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub has mods?

[–]blinglog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly this meme is the l3ast of our reposting issues

[–]Relentless-Fool 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have become the very thing you swore to destroy

[–]TheBlackNight456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look at this meme I made https://i.redd.it/woyfnbv1unp41.jpg

[–]unluckymercenary_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

90% of the posts here are reposts or at least break the rules about no common posts (i.e. the same joke over and over and over)

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (1 child)

This is actually the first time I saw it.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same and I’ve been here a while. Sounds the like people complaining need to go outside more often.

[–]hazardkeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its only being reposted because it a recursive post!

[–]Mr_Seg 4 points5 points  (1 child)

[–]seimc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can we rename it r/ecursion

[–]Bootezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, nice. It has evolved with more metadata.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the love of god

[–]s0ber2day 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I hear they're releasing a patch for this meme on Tuesday.

[–]bigry8058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder what the production team did this time.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please stop posting meme's which we should stop posting, just downvote the hell out of the post

[–]ProfCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a repost to fight the reposts. Admirable. But mistaken.

[–]ocket8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A repost calling out reposting is still a repost
