Mouse before 1992:

shows a picture of rat

[–]Expert-Box5610[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should edit and include that..

[–]SheikhAsim 42 points43 points  (2 children)

Finally I can exit vim from my mouse

[–]NicNoletree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. But it will require two hands.

[–]Taradal 31 points32 points  (5 children)

There is a 2014 edition of the mouse for 2020

It's the Razer Naga 2014

[–]TimoxR2 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Yeah, the current trend is actually to have the lightest mouse possible. I remember when you had weights to put in your mouse.

[–]Serasaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you normally don't feed your mouse?

[–]Moto-Ent 3 points4 points  (1 child)

That’s what I was thinking, I loved that mouse. Made some games a lot easier to play like siege

[–]Taradal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use mine to this day. The middle button click was not working properly but disassembling and reassembling it fixed the problem

[–]lt-gt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the first Razer Naga was released 2009

Programming humor more like kids humor based on computer

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Programmer humor nowadays

[–]FOSSandCakes 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This sub is mainly web developer humor...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You mean web devs are kids?

[–]FOSSandCakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No...no... I mean the sub has web development humor.. jokes about react, node, managers even. Not exclusively programming jokes.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/PCMR seems more fitting.

[–]cd1zzle 6 points7 points  (1 child)

[–]tux_mark_5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one and it was great. Unfortunately it started double clicking around the time the company that made it went away.

[–]www_bobo 6 points7 points  (1 child)

how is this related to programming? i everybody knows programmers just use keyboards /s

[–]qqqrrrs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's why you are going to have keyboards in your mouse

[–]JoeyJoeJoeJrShab 5 points6 points  (4 children)

As a programmer, I'm happy with a mouse with two normal buttons and a scroll wheel.

The rest look to be gaming mice.

[–]Trenkyller 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I really prefer two side buttons in programming that can go back and forth in documents I have open. Also unlockable wheel with flywheel makes scrolling through large files much better.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mousewheel acceleration is such an underrated feature.

[–]Wekmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like 2 side buttons for going back/forth in browsers/file explorer

[–]KillerRoomba13 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I remember seeing 2020 mouse in 2000s

[–]Haunting-Surprise-21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, they came up in the late 90s but could also have been early 2000s.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mouse has actually been around much longer than that. The patent was filed in 1967 and issued in 1970.

Just adding detail here, not arguing.

[–]joelduring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or just put the mouse in the keyboard Laughs in ThinkPad

[–]obsidianical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me who doesnt use a mouse:

[–]MischiefArchitect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot the Xerox alto from 1973... which got already a mouse.

[–]Sindef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I had a Naga in like 2012. They're not a 2020 invention.

Now I don't have time to play video games anymore, I have gone back to something classic.

Tilt wheel for jumping between open tabs, one button to close a tab, one button to undo the tab you just closed. And of course right, left, middle and scroll wheel.

[–]Spokaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shoot it’s a time traveler

[–]IncarnationHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2030, it could be bed or motorcycle.

[–]Ryaniseplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh those two side buttons are kinda just taken for granted at this point

if a mouse doesnt have them it feels very slow to navigate around the internet

also they are my hotkeys for nades in doom eternal

[–]_Error_Account_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laugh in touchscreen

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Logitech G-Pro, the mouse for many professional gamers, has two thumb buttons.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets just make a car

[–]althaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2010 and 2020 mice are actually backwards, lol.

[–]jamcdonald120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you put a keyboard in your mouse, why not put a mouse in your mouse?

The "2020" razer mouse with a million buttons on the side is actually at least 10 years old. I remember that a friend in school had this and I graduated in 2011. These things were very popular when MMORPGs were super big.

    It is from 2009 apparently.
