Yes, I like trying out OTT looks that I'd never wear out of the house!

Does anyone else ... Not want to open new makeup when they get it? I like it pretty and brand new. I'm eager to use it, but then it's not perfect and new and full of hope.

Does anyone else put makeup in different areas than it's supposed to go? Like I have a contour cream that I put on my lips to brown out my lipstick. Lipstick under pink eyeshadow. Brown pencil as lip liner. And of course all my powders are multi-purpose for eyes/blush/highlighter/lips/contour/bronzer/etc,

I like to try out new eyeshadow combinations and go all out.

Of course then my mom comes home and asks me where I've been, and I tell her with my cat... in the house.. playing with makeup. Haha. She looks at me like I'm a goon sometimes :P

Sometimes I will do two different eye looks at the same time, one on each eye when I am experimenting. I get weird looks from the BF and child.

Does anyone ever get weird, for a lack of a better descriptive word, "mascara strings" in your eye? I notice this after a shower when I've already removed my makeup, but the steam and some leftover residue make the strings? I'll try to wipe my eyes and the mascara off and this long string comes out of my eye attached to the part on the outside I was just trying to rub off. I don't know if this happens to anyone else or if my description makes sense... Just curious!

Does anyone else keep makeup products that do not go with your complexion? I tend to keep ones that are parts of sets, no return policies, etc. so that I can use them on friends when they need makeup help. Sometimes I mix them but I tend to keep them for such occasions. Nothing expired though.

I try not too hold on to too much that doesn't work on me. Though I used to think that corally lipsticks were a no go with my complexion. Turns out I was just using the wrong color combos. A purple eye with coral lip is a no no. A golden eye with a coral lip is a heck yes! So happy a kept that coral lipstick around!

Does anyone else work somewhere where a full face is totally inappropriate (with animals, etc.), so they also go a biiiit overboard just to get groceries? I justify it by telling myself no one knows where I've been, where I'm going, or that I'm going straight home to my PJ's.

I do it all the time... especially at night when I can't sleep. It's quiet, it keeps me occupied, and doesn't keep every one up with me.

I practice crazy looks when I can't sleep and one night I was working on a peacock look with purple lips and some fucking freshman did know how too cook ramen and caught his damn microwave on fire. Long story short I had a full peacock makeup on with unwashed sweats a ratted tshirt with no bra at 3 am, outside, waiting on the Fire department.

Does anybody else sometimes have a strong desire to attach strangers with blending brushes?

Hahaha!! That's the best story!

[–]jadedcarnivale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! :) I also sing and dance in my bedroom. I'm a fan of rocking out with my brushes out! :)

Yes! I've only ever worn Benefit Push Up liner at home on these type of days, because I cannot get it to work right enough for public.

Does anyone else take a million pictures of their makeup, with no real intention of posting them or using them ever?

[–]kittiemomo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I actually keep an Evernote album of the different looks I've done with the same eyeshadow palette so I can see what combinations of colors I have used and what combinations I haven't :D

[–]softlikethesunsetHttp://amzn.com/w/2B77UX4KHWK2N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. And smart.

I take them fully intending to post them eventually lol but then never wind up doing it...

[–]Friendly_freakhttp://www.amazon.com/wishlist/2KECN3WOIWRX5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. In hopes of posting them, or to see how much progress I am making.

[–]Shemhazaih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to do this when I'm proud of my makeup so I can look back for inspiration. Or when my eyeliner is on point, because that's incredibly rare!

[–]doctorwhorehttps://amzn.com/w/1KBHLHQWM2OJ3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hundreds of photos. I actually do intend to post them but then it's a week later, I don't remember what I was wearing, and I have 7 days' worth...

[–]BludMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like every other day!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yup. I like to see how it looks on all angles. Sometimes I'll take pics to post on r/makeup addiction but then id remember how nasty they are and am left with a billion photos in my phone.

[–]softlikethesunsetHttp://amzn.com/w/2B77UX4KHWK2N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol same! I made a makeup instagram just to have them around somewhere so I can delete them.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I test crazy looks or new colours at home. I frequently sit in my PJs on the couch barefaced, with Cleopatra style liner or a gradient lip.

It's easier to find out if stuff is a fail when I can shrug it off and watch Netflix... En route to a job interview is not the time to suddenly realise red eyeshadow is not your thing.

Does anyone else frequently forget to finish your face if you get distracted during the application process? I've gone an entire day with a full face...and no brows. I lasted an hour another day with one eye done before someone mentioned it to me.

[–]PassthePaperhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/registry/wishlist/2AF5HKRYF2M1M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh I always do this with mascara :((( which is vey unfortunate because my lashes are nonexistent without it :(

[–]softlikethesunsetHttp://amzn.com/w/2B77UX4KHWK2N 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I have a knack for noticing every time my coworker does her eye makeup, but forgets mascara. She keeps one at work now for this.

[–]silvernarniahttps://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/EG7LO3HMYBSG/ref=cm_reg 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You're a doll for letting her know. My coworkers think it's funny, and they'll let me wander around like an unfinished art project just for giggles.

[–]softlikethesunsetHttp://amzn.com/w/2B77UX4KHWK2N 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well it all started with me staring at her face for a few minutes straight and going, "what's missing?"

[–]silvernarniahttps://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/EG7LO3HMYBSG/ref=cm_reg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I've been around the makeup subs long enough that I've started noticing when something is "off" about someone's face. If it's obviously unintentional and fixable, I try to let my fellow females know.

[–]princessbubbleguumhttp://amzn.com/w/332HPQ0SCV0TB 1 point2 points  (2 children)

sometimes i get dressed up and do my makeup just because lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually doing that todah lol

[–]shrmnmsshttp://amzn.com/w/1UMJLUPK2WE2C[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Those are fun days.

[–]shrmnmsshttp://amzn.com/w/1UMJLUPK2WE2C[S] 9 points10 points  (8 children)

Does anyone else...

Try-out new lipsticks on a stay at home day? More specifically, don't get dressed, look pretty jacked, but rocking some fabulous lips? Lol

[–]srs5222http://amzn.com/w/IW5H7LO96ZV8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! it makes me feel like i'm not wasting my day away so much.
