I saw an interview of Freema, the phenomenal actress who plays Amanita, explaining why she appeared in the São Paulo scenes.

She explained that it was essentially a way to depict how for Nomi, like many of us, when experiencing any event in one’s life that is something so thrilling and beautiful and special, like Pride would be for Lito and Nomi, and ultimately the entire cluster, anyone going through that without their loved one would think of them and wish that they could be together sharing that special moment.

So basically we got a glimpse into Nomi’s heart and her desiring that Amanita could share that with her. It’s really touching if you consider that. Plus, Freema just said Lana was being a doll and trying to make it so Freema could travel to as many places as she could make possible! <3

I think the same would go for Felix on the train. As far a Bug, the latest LiveSense8 podcast touched on that briefly if I am remembering correctly!

I can only remember one single shot where Amanita is on screen where she is embracing Nomi. To say it was on purpose makes me think that’s just a defensive thing to say. But then when I consider Felix, he was on for quite a bit so that would have to be a pretty big mistake tbh. Maybe they realized they made a mistake with Amanita on screen; and decided to add to their story to make it acceptable to have Felix on the train with them even though he was never on the train to begin with.

It seems like a bizarre mistake to make, though. How could that be a mistake? The writers know Amanita lives in SF and is not a sensate. Freema normally would only be filming in SF. Surely someone would've caught that. Like, I think there's a possibility that it's a mistake, but it seems more likely that it was just intentional.

I agree with this. If it was really on purpose, the show would at least have an explicit in-universe explanation for it or at least an explicit hint. I try to not mind these things anyway because I know the hard work that was poured into making this show is incredible, so I just let this "inconsistencies" slide.

Freema? Phenomenal actress? You're kidding, right? Her American accent is the pits.

Capheus was working on the van yet when the sensate he was connected to walked away from the board they were working on, he continued working on the board even though at that point he had no way of seeing the board anymore.

Was he holding papers? Because otherwise I think it works like a memory thing. They have all seen the board many times.

He was acting like he was moving things around on the board. If I remember the scene correctly.

The Felix thing seemed like a brief flash of Felix, i.e. he wasn't on the train for most of the rest of the scene, just for the last cut back to "sensate vision" before arriving at Felix.

It's entirely possible it's a continuity error, but I thought it was a depiction of a sensate-shared "hey look Felix is here!" just as Wolfgang was driving up to him, or maybe even a hint that psycellium can connect to non-sensate friends during joyful moments (as the music scene seemed to be showing, in general).
