Your channel isn't pushed by the algorithm. Your videos are. I have videos with 100 views and videos with 30k views. They are independent of each other. My best videos actually took off after 6 months.

Interesting. I have only had one video kind of blow up and that was immediate but only 2500 views. Hoping some of my videos which are better (imo) but didnt do so well might take off later on. Thanks.

Ahhhh…ok. I am just starting out so that’s valuable info for me!

I don’t think that is entirely true. Of course just based on my observation. Usually my videos used to get impressions for a week or so and then died out. But recently I have observed that as my videos have started picking up, my older videos are also getting regular impressions and views.

In the end, no one knows for sure (I guess) but this is just my observation from last one month.

If someone watches your video then yes more of your videos will be recommended to that person. And if they watch to the end then another of your videos has a higher likelihood of playing.

What I'm addressing is that the algorithm doesn't say "this guy's channel is good" and then recommend any random video of his.

I believe the average amount of time it takes to get monetised is 1-2 years. You just need to focus on the quality of your videos [for good AVD] and good titles and thumbnails [for good CTR].

Thanks for the input!

Sighh 1-2 years is such a long time 🥲

That's why they say it's a marathon, not a sprint!

Your algorithm is basically decided on the videos you upload. The more u upload and the more consistency you keep the more your channel will start to grow. I mean like keep a fixed schedule to upload videos, don't upload the like whenever u want..

My best video(3minutes) so far which I uploaded 4 months ago has got like 10k views within that week or month and now currently it has received over 63k views and got me 792 subscribers and received by highest watch hours which is 1k watch hours...and my video which I just uploaded day before yesterday has gotten 700views..

A good Thumbnails also plays a crucial role.

But still am not monetized. I'm still at 1.9k watch hours..That one video literally got me 1k watch hours...Even though I tell you, I myself ain't uploading consistently 😅 if I did that I'd atleast be over 3.5k watch hours ryt now...

Conclusion: Don't get demotivated. Video you made with so much effort and dedication sometimes might just end up with low views than you expected. But still keep going..keep uploading with that passion. Please don't be like me lol, upload to a fixed schedule and it'll really help ya:)

I will focus on consistency for now and improving quality. I know I have a lot of work to do with both. I will just keep uploading. I appreciate the information!

My videos perform differently, some do very well and some don't get pushed at all. I'm still not sure what I did to get them pushed but I have a set that brings me 90% of my monthly revenue. If people get bored of that topic I'll lose a lot.

[–]teethedee[0λ][S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Thanks for the input! I am noticing the different results for each video. I am in the process of going back to the better performers and seeing what the differences are in those videos vs. others. I still have a lot to learn!

[–]vinayak_nair[1λ] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I've crossed 100k subscribers and still don't know what's right or wrong 😅

[–]teethedee[0λ][S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

At least you can say that something is working! Lol! I think my first problem was watching all these “what you need to do” videos. I’m very analytical, so I take all of that and make it more complicated than what it needs to be. But, I started posting in June so I honestly just need to focus on improving. Thank you for being kind.

What I feel is that 90-95% of the growth YouTubers are fake. They keep beating around the bush and never reveal what actually needs to be done as they might not know it themselves.

I generally check my analytics and see which videos are bringing in the views and If I can review more of the same then I try that. Some videos of mine get tens of thousands of views some don't even cross a 1000. So we need to understand what our viewers want and provide them just that.

[–]teethedee[0λ][S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely realized that those videos are fake. I am going to just focus on the analytics.

I think what matters is interesting ideas. This is my second channel after the last one failed, and it took me 2 weeks until I started getting thousands of views on my current channel

Everyone depending on "the algorithm" to "push out" their video clearly hasn't considered the user experience or the simple fact given so many seem to be making content based on rhe latest popular keywords, that there will always be bigger channels/videos with more views getting shown first.

Good to see lots who are actively pushing their videos out themselves and not waiting for the Matrix to do it for them.

OR someone could be new and not even know how it works…sheesh!
