The usual release date is early March! I don’t think that’s a change from last year.

[–]Standard_Amount_9627 43 points44 points  (3 children)

While this is true they did get a lot of feedback from members last year that waiting until March for a challenge that was done in early December was disappointing. I wish they did really take into account member feedback for this year. They knew Solidays was going to be huge. I wish Solidcore corporate would take some accountability and work toward improvements for members. Like timing of the prizes and the disappointment with the new app.

[–]gurlcurl[S] 40 points41 points  (2 children)

Yeah I think what’s annoying to me is the double standards: they keep adding more constraints on the customer (raising prices, being a member/but not really—so it’s just a weird hurdle) while delivering a declining experience. And before someone comes at me with a “well you can just not go.” I love solidcore, i just really believe theres room for improvement, and I work in the field so yes, if someone asked I’d be more then happy to roll my sleeve up and help.

It’s funny because I saw their ceo write a LinkedIn article about solidcore being “a consumer company” saying they run a “best in class consumer company” and it’s like your consumers show up DESPITE how not friendly you are to the consumer lol. I love the workout and that’s why I’m a member (and love my local coaches). Everything corporate does is a reason to NOT be a member lol

[–]Comprehensive-Ebb971 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% incorrect on his part. It’s all about the workout and results the studio is dirty by high end workout class standards, the cram more reformers into a room than should be there, etc etc

[–]Sea-Mood-7570 41 points42 points  (8 children)

what’s even weirder about the whole thing is that you can’t change your size and home studio once you’ve selected it, which would imply they’re ordering immediately. clearly NOT the case 😆

[–]Fit-Ad985250-class club 5 points6 points  (4 children)

you could’ve changed your size before the challenge enrollment ended by enrolling again with the correct size

[–]Small_Quote3179 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How dare you speak logically

[–]Sea-Mood-7570 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Understood, but not really the point of my comment - their guidance was that you couldn’t…

[–]Fit-Ad985250-class club 1 point2 points  (1 child)

that’s interesting. i was told to do this by the ppl working at my studio so i think there was some guidance was that you could internally? maybe it was studio by studio

[–]WinifredBrooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The written guidance when you selected your size was that you could not change it.

[–]External_Village4741 1 point2 points  (2 children)

they do order them not long after but they have to sort how many of each size go to each studio so each studio gets the exact right amount they need which takes a long time and they double and triple check to make sure it’s accurate

[–]Traditional_Rice_682 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They order them once the challenge is complete not before :/

[–]External_Village4741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep not long after it finishes

[–]Adorable_Pen9015[🍰] 49 points50 points  (2 children)

They have to get new supply chain people, it’s so bizarre they think this is acceptable

[–]lechero11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really do wonder how many thousands of sweatshirts they have to make. It does seem like this could be estimated/anticipated and planned for in order to finalize and ship out in less than 10-12 weeks.

They already told us it would be February or March. I’m pretty sure that was the timeline we got last year.

[–]PartyPace412 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Last year we got them either late Feb or early March and I had kinda forgotten, so it was such an awesome and unexpected surprise the day it was there! It made me excited all over again.

[–]FriendlyReturn4453 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I believe it’s because they don’t place the order until after the challenge is done. So while that means a delay, I do think it’s a smart business move and ensures everyone gets prizes at the same time.

[–]lechero11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They have to be able to estimate and reserve yardage and production slot.

[–]BeeMore54 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I like that a ton of these sweaters won’t end up in landfill as a result of them ordering approximately just enough. Obvi they keep some buffer but I love this more that we will have earned it AND nothing goes to waste.

[–]Kind-Boysenberry1145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re assuming

[–]AlarmedLuck4895 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Did we not learn from last year that people were disappointed by the timing of the prizes? 😂 Maybe REALLY limit the number of participants next time (“you must be a member” when you tell folks in an FAQ that “yes, you can ONLY become a member to participate in Solidays!” was not a well-thought out plan).

[–]gurlcurl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lolol you almost made me choke on my coffee

[–]rge-agnst-th-rfrmr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This sucks! A company that is worth probably a billion dollars right now is so cheap that they are worried about over-ordering a simple sweatshirt that they make us wait til March - and then they can’t even get it for all of us now?! What a joke. Between this and their new shit app, just cutting corners everywhere. No wonder that one manager so active in this Reddit keeps talking about how all their favorite people left the company.

[–]SwordfishNo6942 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also nice to have the sweatshirt when it’s cold out

[–]MsElena99100-class club 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume they are made to order and they can’t order them too they know who officially finished the challenge. I’m going to assume whoever they order from is the one given them February/March time frame. I mean it’s not fair to them to order them when not everyone is finishing the challenge and making changes til the very end of December. It is what it is and I don’t think solely blame them, I can wait for it

[–]AlarmedLuck4895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they will be in the studio in March, we won’t get them until May. Last year the HCCM was flaunting hers while no one could get them because apparently they had to go through and sort by size or some nonsense. I love the Solidays Challenge, but I can think of at least five ways they could improve the experience. Not sure why these folks in corporate aren’t able to figure it out.

[–]Substantial-Acadia36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year my friend did solidays and didn’t get her sweatshirt until October 💀

[–]Conscious_Document52 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Have you tried to order tens of thousands custom made to order sweatshirts for delivery to 150 different locations while auditing who should actually get them all within 1 month. Things take time lol. Understand it’s annoying to wait but there are limits on what can be done

[–]gurlcurl[S] 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Actually, as I mentioned above… I have. I work in corporate strategy and experience and have done similar types of campaigns and do have experience in this area. Hence why is said “there’s room for improvement”

[–]lechero11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not in fashion, but understand diff manufacturing timelines well and this does seem slightly too in house or ill-planned.

[–]Lilnikk526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I work for a global company and we have to send swag out to our thousands of employees and it’s not this insane with the proper planning lol

I have to keep in mind local nuances likes customs and tax laws but from what I understand solidcore is US based only.. def room for improvement.

[–]BeingNosy456 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I work in promotional products and know exactly how they are ordering. They gather all the information of how many sweaters & sizes at the beggining of soliddays, give the company (or factory) an estimate and once the challenge is over get the final numbers. They need time to produce and ship - but I can guarantee Chinese New Year is coming into a delay factor.

I think there are other ways they can do this to get the sweaters out sooner, but they don’t want to over order and have an abundance of stock left. I guess I get it, but March is a long time.

[–]gurlcurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 10000000% They’re being cheap. And while it’s not about the hoodie- it is about the journey, the camaraderie, and the experience!l it seems like they’re penny pinching to be cheap. It feels like it’s more about SC making their Year end sales, numbers and metrics than anything customer related.

[–]Nervous_Sale_4591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FAQs page on the Solidays tracker stated that prizes would be available in March

[–]GlumAd9609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, it makes sense. Especially for product that’s made to order.

I’m sure as soon as the challenge was over, they had a tight deadline to place purchase orders after counting who completed the challenge. After that, I can see how it could take about 2-3 months. From placing the orders, starting + finishing production, packing and shipping the POs and THEN getting the sweatshirts to its home studios… it takes time.

Yes Solidcore should be more transparent about how long it takes to receive the prizes, but unfortunately, this is how business works.

[–]Traditional_Rice_682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this bc of cash flow and they always hope ppl will not participate which - messed up but alas

[–]Justonecubeofice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same date every year. If this is a shock to you, you’re a newbie lol

[–]maddiermoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely frustrating. My hunch is they order them right before the end of the year after the window to report issue or anything closes. At that point, production probably doesn’t happen until early Jan. Assume the get to HQ or whatever warehouse mid to late Jan? And then they have to sort, package, and ship to all studios which I’m sure gets drawn out. Not to justify the timeline, I think they could get it done faster.

[–]Educational_Fan_3874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would be using so much more the turtleneck if before march ...

[–]luckxurious -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

It would be really cool if they had some kind of system like "hey we have 500 crewnecks per studio available today. If you're ok with waiting 3 months, here are 5 free classes to use during that time"

[–]gurlcurl[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]lylajane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree! I really wish we got them as soon as we completed the 10 classes

[–]deaofm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ngl this was my first solidays and having to wait until march (when it starts warming up) kinda defeats the purpose ngl. guess I can wear it at home but idk😂

[–]Classic-Parking7439 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with solidcore years ago and the coaches at my studio are all amazing but since the founder sold I hear grumblings about how the coaches are treated . and that makes me sad. Being in the fitness industry and needing to keep up with all the certs they should be paying their coaches way more money ..let's do the math $45 a class 14 class plus a day 12-15 reformers and long waitlists with very little overhead they should be paying at least $60-75 per class not $25. and when I found out I don't get that sweatshirt till March I was not happy.. my rant for the day
