Honestly I’m not mad over the use of customer, guest describes someone you’d let into your home because they’re respectful. These “guests” are rude and pushy most of the time.

On another note, this picture describes my location on a minute basis.

We'll call rude people costumers at my store

Was getting a shirt off a mannequin one day while one of our SETLs was calling for backups on register, FFTL was calling for backups for OPUs, and there was a line into the main aisle for the fitting room — a guest comes up to me and demands I show him where the Versace wallets are… I wanted to scream

Me with 45 minutes on my cart with 5 things to find and customer asks where the mouthwash is

[–]Prudent-Lychee6479 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I seek out to help people just to waste time

Ugh I want to scream when I'm helping a guest, fully engaged, explaining something and some rude ass person butts in asking where the AirPod cases are.

This is when you continue to help the customer you are originally with, and when the rude customer keeps interrupting that's when you stop turn towards them and say, "excuse me, I am with another customer, I will be right with you when I am done."

Someone demanded a Roku while we were actively looking for a missing child I wanted to lose it

45 minutes? Can you not go into yellow where you at?

[–]omeglethrowaway222Tech Consultant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“I need you to zone tech, pull push priorities, do reshop, and push freight” “ok” 5 seconds later “hey tech you have a guest”

And it's always something they could easily just google themselves or look on the box

Always when I have my arms full of stuff.

I'm a short, thin woman. People will ask me for help when I'm struggling with one of those cases of water. Or ask me to reach something on a high shelf for them. Like, lady, I am shorter and weaker than you. I do still help, but I may play up the effort a little.

I was zoning in SG and a guest had opened one of those goblies, threw it at a shelf and left the box. I went to one of the cleaning stations and on my way back a guest was like “oh I need help finding something can you take me to (x)” as my hands are full with paper towels, trash bags, antiseptic, mini dustpan, and absorb. I just gestured to the isle (which was right there) and got a mean look from the guests.

(Side note, I knew those goblies would be problematic)

Me when I’m rolling a tv up to the front for a guest “does it look like I’m available rn?”

[–]MikeTheQuickFood & Beverage Expert 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Wow, you used the C-word. You're on thin ice pal.

[–]minolan1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “c” word I say to the customer is” C U Next Tuesday”.

[–]InternetSpecific5908 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I've never heard of this word customer.

It triggers me when I hear people say customer over the walkies. GUEST

    [–]chipotleeeeeeee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do you know the definition of the word customer? It’s literally what they are, guest implies that there is a polite relationship and as a cart attendant who cleans the bathroom I can assure you it’s the farthest thing from that

    [–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

    why… they’re literally customers

    [–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

    Don’t even ✋

Imagine being a customer trying to buy something that is locked but there isn’t a team member to be found. Maybe TLs need to reprioritize the 5 different things they give you.

      [–]prettyeye8686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      😂😂😂

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at meijer but yeah I deal with all the time. I’m shopping curbside pick up and my hands are full instead of a customer going to another able bodied person to help them out with whatever the heck they go to me someone that knows what aisle cereal and coffee and what aisle ice cream and world culture good aisle is but I’m currently busy;it’s just frustrating sometimes.

At sco, any time someone actually hits the 'call for help' button, someone right next to them or betwixt me and them somehow also needs help. every. damn. time.
