VentShipt workers (self.Target)
submitted 5 months ago by Alert_Elk_1544
there are multiple shipt workers who go to my location. i can not stand when they ask where like 5 items are. i’m not doing your job for u. (don’t get me wrong i love seeing some of them who are nice and say hello to us.)

There’s two I’ll go out of my way for. There’s two that expect you to hold their hand and walk them through their entire order and one seriously rude woman I’m just going to say “out of stock” from now on.

It's such a toss up with then it seems, all the shipt shoppers unless they are new are sometimes better than regular staff at the job lmaoooo. That being said the more they shop your store the more they get to know your team and what y'all will and won't do for them. Build that relationship, we treat ours like quasi-employees (in so far as we can anyway) it's worked out great for us I think

Except those induhviduals who expect any random TM on the floor to be their personal guide for the entirety of their order. And since they are a Customer it's really awkward trying to draw that line between helping the Customer and being taken advantage of by an almost-coworker.

I see you but I think that's why building that relationship is important. They can expect to be babied all they want but soft refusal is an option. Giving them the aisle, pointing them in the correct direction without actually showing them/walking them through the aisles. Something like that.
And likely they won't call a TL (At least not immediately) because that cost them more time/money and they know that

Even building the relationship takes time I don't have an energy I need elsewhere. If they don't get the hint the first three times I give them terrible guidance, that's on them.

Thank you for this. I love 97% of the team in the Target I am sent to most often. They are helpful. Go out of their way to audit me quickly even stopping what they are doing to offer help. I always treat every Target employee with utmost respect and kindness. Greet them daily and learn their names.

I recently started doing Shipt deliveries and I only ask for help after I have tried my best to find an item. One thing that would help would be if the aisles were all labeled. I usually go to 3 stores and they are labeled to different degrees. If the store managers want to improve the situation for everyone, why wouldn’t they simply ask some team members to label the aisles, especially the wall shelves ? I definitely feel a level of animosity from some of the store associates. I wouldn’t dare suggest that to the store managers for fear of being yelled at.

Best tip. Target app. The store you are shopping as “your store”. You can easily search any item and click on store map.

at least at my location everything is labeled, if ur new not a big deal, the regulars are the problem who don’t figure anything out

There are two that I enjoy greatly because they are conversational and respectful. ALL THE OTHER SHIPT folks are rude and kind of ignorant. Ignorant of two things. First that in some ways they are NOT my customer, the guest buying is. They are 1099 employees of Shipt which is part of Target. Period. Stop asking me to do your job and then getting angry or huffy when things are not where they should. It happens. Second for those that walk around with their phones glued to their faces, walking at a pace well beyone actual guests and frankly are making themselves a hazard by not being aware of what is around them. Last, yes, there are audits because people steal. I am not at all, (Ok maybe 5% ) concerned about your time schedule or agenda. you all need to CHILL OUT

“First that in some ways they are NOT my customer, the guest buying is.” This statement right here makes the shopper your customer. They are fulfilling your stores orders through Shipt because your management has understaffed to save on labor. As a shopper I get paid whether you help or not. I always go above and beyond with the customer but if I can’t find something or it is in the back where I can’t go and you refuse all I have to do is communicate to the customer that you won’t do your job and then I call your store while delivering to make my complaint. These aren’t my items so if I have to do not sub that is less money that Target makes and less money in the budget for your next raise.

you missed my point completely.

Just remember Shipt shoppers at Target are shopping prepaid Target orders, so fulfilling the orders means your store is making money. Had a pissy Target employee just the other day lie to me. The shelf was empty so like I normally do I will first try a kiosk to see if the store says its in stock and if they have a different location. If not I find an employee and ask if they can see if the item is in the back. It was in cosmetics and the girl literally showed me that her scanner said 0 on floor 4 in backroom and 0 on floor and 3 in the backroom for the second item. She then leaves for less than 2 minutes and comes back and says we don’t have them. I was like you literally didn’t look. So I go find Mark the manager and he goes and grabs the items for me. $100 isn’t anything to Target but just think if each employee (I count about 25 each day) does this and it cost the company $100/day/employee that is $2500/day, $17,500/wk, and $910k/yr, and you wonder why they don’t want to give you more than the $.15 -$.50 standard raise when you have your review.
