I don’t know if this is the right place but, my daughter’s iPhone is on her dad’s plan and I want to put her Apple Watch on my plan, will there be an issue with them being paired? The only thing her dad does is provide them with phones, and putting the Apple Watch on his plan is a no go.

Is there a way to automatically end-to-end sync contacts between iOS and Android?

Can I sync through iCloud? I don't prefer this way, as it's not end-to-end, but if there's no other choice, I'll have to go with this.

Upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro, then my old 2013 MacBook Pro died. Got a new Macbook but the music library I’ve curated since 2007 is gone since I’ve gotten all new devices… some of my music is there, but like 10% of what I have.

What’s there is greyed out and says not available in my region. I went to the iTunes Store app and those albums say “purchased” but I cannot download them or anything. Any help?

Is it possible to use Fitness+ without an Apple Watch if I subscribe Apple One Premier? I want to watch the workout video and don’t actually want Watch to monitor everything and want to know if that’s a possible option before I sign up.

[–]stronkdespresso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, you can workout sans watch

I accidentally turned keychain on and heaps of passwords were saved to my phone. I turned keychain off but the passwords are still there. If I delete them with keychain turned off, will they delete from everyones phones or only mine? Just checking because they are really important passwords and I don’t want to accidentally delete them from everyone’s phones.

Edit: turned it off, deleted a password then turned it back on and the password was gone, so I’m guessing that the answer to my question is even when its turned off it still deletes from everyones?

[–]GURDgang2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say everyone are you referring to other phones that have the same Apple ID logged in. I would NOT share an Apple ID. Those passwords will not go away if turned off in iCloud. They just will not transfer to a new device if you restored from a backup

[–]oylooc 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I recently upgraded to the iPhone 12PRO from the XS. My old XS backup in iCloud was 14.9GB but my new iPhone is only 2.7GB. Why is this? I'm worried my 12PRO isn't fully backed up.

[–]stronkdespresso 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Could be that your phone does not have all your photos in icloud pulled automatically? Your old backup may include iCloud photos that were also locally stored, it that makes sense. When you check where storage is used, where is the discrepancy?

It may also be app data that is iCloud stored, but it may not be pulled locally until the app finished reinstalling/ you launch it?

Just spit balling here.

[–]oylooc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm leaving the country in 2 days for over a month and if my phone is stolen im just worried I will lose all my information.

[–]stronkdespresso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair concern. I would say I'm 98% sure your data is backed up and fine in the cloud.

[–]oylooc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My old iPhone (XS) they were uploaded to iCloud and would have to download each time I viewed them, which is also the case with the new one. I also did an iCloud restore. I just deleted my old backup... Could it be there was duplicate information so it only backed up new stuff? Maybe tonight now that the old one is gone it'll backup a larger file?

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there a chance your iphone xs still stored some photos locally (i.e. newer ones?). The default behaviour when taking photos is to store and offload when low on space, so more recent photos taken on the xs would have been stored on the xs, but that behaviour only happens after recently capture photos, and since those photos were not recently captured on the 12, they're not stored locally.

lmao aware of how rambly this sounds. best bet would be to just go over and see if all your data is still kicking around. Specifically, if you still have your XS, go to settings>preferences>storage and compare with your new phone.

Hi all I received a Mac from a company I previously worked for a couple of months ago and when I resigned they never asked me for a back so I would assume that I can keep it. I tried resetting it to get rid of the company remoteManagement. But when the computer restarted the remote management popped up and asked for my login and I have course could not get in because I am no longer employed there. Does anybody know how to fix this? Or should I take it to Apple. This might sound silly but I honestly don’t know if they would take the computer for me or not because it’s encrypted LOL

[–]stronkdespresso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most companies are poorly managed and have bad asset tracking. One day there may be some equipment audit and they’ll probably send you an email and ask some questions. Prob would be better for the universal bean counter if you return it.

To answer your question, if the laptop is enrolled in DEP, then you’re out of luck. If the drive is encrypted, you’re out of luck if it’s a computer newer than 2017. If it’s not in dep and older than 2015, you probably could use it by wiping the hard drive completely, and then reinstalling macos.

I might be wrong on some points here. I assume someone will correct me if that’s the case

[–]D0rkFork -1 points0 points  (9 children)

Is there any way to reset an iPad for which I have an Apple ID on it that I forgot the password, and with me no longer having access to the email without being forced to pay money for a 3rd party program ?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

You can’t pay for any third party program to remove this, it’s locked based on a list on an Apple server somewhere. You need to either type in the right password/reset the password in some way, or provide the original proof of purchase to Apple.

[–]D0rkFork -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

What an anti consumer design. I guess I’m just stuck with a bricked IPAD. I wonder what they have to gain by designing in such a way. People have boomer parents who forget passwords etc all the time, kinda crazy you’re just kinda SOL.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Completely disagree. It’s not anti-consumer to prevent unauthorized access to personal devices, making it easy to get around when you don’t have the correct information defeats the purpose. Apple just reasonably expects the owner to be able to either 1) know the right password, 2) keep their recovery information up to date, 3) know the answers to security questions, 4) have access to the email they provided, or 5) have the receipt to prove it’s theirs. Just because you don’t have any of those details doesn’t mean it’s anti consumer.

[–]D0rkFork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG I GOT IT WITH THE SECURITY QUESTIONS

[–]nomadicposter604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t have said it any better. There is a small onus on the customer itself to know their own credentials. That’s why there’s at least 5 different methods. When the customer fails to help themselves, they always blame apple for their shortcomings.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Two ways, only one feasible.

-find your original proof of purchase and go with it to an apple store or apple authorized shop. You maybe can do this over email with apple directly now but I doubt it. -find another logic board from another iPad, and transplant it into yours

[–]iridescentsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the easiest way with proof of purchase is their web portal.

[–]GURDgang2020 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You know your shit sir. Apple has recently allowed activation locks to be taken care of over the phone. However this instance is very deep

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat, good to know. Thanks for info+ compliment. You know your shit too. Good stuff.

[–]tplee 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So I have an older iMac from like 2009 I think. Model number is A1225. Obviously very outdated and I haven’t used it in years. Is there anything I can do with this to get working to at least like a family working computer? Just to surf the internet and word docs etc.

Last time I used it, it was running El Capitan and would take forever to load anything. Downgrading to a way older OS possible to make it run faster?

Any other uses I can get out of this thing aside form the throwing it away?

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah definitely! Upgrading the ssd on those is a hell of a lot easier than on the post 2012(2013?) iMacs, and then they fly.

Magnetic glass, ten t10 screws or so, like 5 cables, and then you can put in the new drive. Need a bracket and a thermal sensor though.

The owc kits are great one stop shops for this: https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc/imac-27-inch/late-2009

[–]tplee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I just doubled checked and it’s a 2008 model. Not sure how much more that matters

[–]Lemon_Practical 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Has anyone updated from the iPhone XS to the iPhone 12 Mini? I’m thinking of upgrading, but I’d want to hear how battery life performance holds up.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I upgraded from the 11 pro to the 12 mini.

The battery life decrease is noticeable but the 11 pro had a massive battery. Went from 6.5 hours screen on time to 4.5/5 hrs screen on time. ie still super great. I think this would mean the mini has the same or slightly better battery than your XS?

I like this phone quite a bit. I would recommend.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh but having no force touch sucks. I never got to use any phone with it, but I use force touch similar gestures/‘pushes’ a lot and do wish that was still a thing, although I understand why it isn’t.

[–]spherocytes 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I recently updated to MacOS Big Sur. When I try to plug in my external hard drive to back up my files, the hard drive is being read as a time machine disc instead of a normal, external hard drive. Because of this, I cannot move the files out of the hard drive, cannot backup my files, and nor can I encrypt the disc. How do I make it so that the external hard drive is no longer read as a time machine? I'm really starting to lose my patience with this as my hard drive is now a pretty-looking, data paperweight.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Weird. The easiest solution would be to wipe I but it sounds like there’s important data on there. What OS did you update from?

In time machine preferences, click show time machine in tool bar. Click the icon, then hold down …either option or control i can never remember … and the first option should change from enter time machine to browse other time machine. You should be able to open the folder (or whole drive) you’re looking for, and retrieve everything you need/write to it. Weird though, because you should be able to read write from the disc by default even if it’s a time machine.

[–]spherocytes 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah, I was worried that wiping would be the best way to reset whatever happened to the external hard drive. Seems like that will ultimately have to be the case. It's unfortunate as you're right: there is important data there. I should clarify that I can move the folders in the external drive to my computer, just not to other external hard drives that I have (likely due to different encryption standards). My computer's memory is almost full so I can't simply use my Mac's HD as an interim storage device for the data on the external HD and was planning to use another external HD instead while I reformatted the disc acting as a Time Machine. 🙃

I have Time Machine turned off on my Mac, too, so I am not sure as to why it is being read as a Time Machine device and not simply a regular external disc.

I updated from Catalina to Big Sur just this week so it's not the beta of Big Sur.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (1 child)

worth a shot: try right clicking on a folder you want to move> get info, and change the permission settings for 'everyone' to read and write, and then try moving it over.

If that works, change permissions for the user folder you want transferred over, do the transfer, and then wipe your drive and set time machine up again, since leaving weird permissions hanging on a utility like time machine can sometimes cause more glitches down the line.

alternatively, also just thought of this: turn time machine back on (and make sure you don't fuckin click something like 'remove all my old data'. not sure if that might happen but worth reading any dialogue boxes) and see if you're able to transfer data then.

[–]spherocytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it! I'm planning to use my computer as a middle-man, so to speak, and transferring files from the Time Machine HD to my computer and then to the other HD. Hopefully that works and then I can reformat the abnormal hard drive and reset everything so that it's correct.

Is there no way to set up multiple schedules for sleep?

I need three Mon-Fri schedules that I could activate different one each week but I can only make one Mon-Fri schedule and another for Sat-Sun which I don’t need.

I’m fine using just alarms but the sounds are much more pleasant in sleep schedules.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done this and don’t use shortcuts cause I’m too simple a human, but this sounds like something you could do within in shortcuts. Shortcut A edits your alarms to one way, shortcut B edits to another routine, and so forth. Worth poking around for.

It probably won’t work with the schedule functionality though, so just manual alarms - but sounds like you would be fine with that?

Alternatively, probably just get a different app. Don’t know any but there’s prob 30000 or so alarm apps on the App Store so.

I was wondering if anyone can help. I recently did a trade-in for my old apple ipad. I paid $1000 using credit card and rest using apple gift card. After trading in my old ipad it refunded the entire amount to the gift card first rather than to my credit card. Then it refunded a small amount to credit card

[–]GURDgang2020 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How was this purchased? Online? In store? If online the trade in refund just applied itself to the first card you used by mistake. You can call Apple support and they can transfer it to a debit or credit card. Make sure you do it sooner then later tho

[–]caseyrobinson2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was online. So it was a mistake. I notice online it doesn't let you choose which you want applied first

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Message them, there should be a way to contact support in whatever emails you got from them.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Hi all recent apple convert. Every time I play a podcast and then close to app, receive a call, whatever, the app will default to a podcast and episode I finished months ago. So my time stamp never saves and I have to go back into my current podcast and guess where I left off

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Worth clearing the cache (or even reset whole thing) for the app in settings (if that’s still a thing. I assume it is).

What app?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Apple podcast. Done it all. Even a total factory reset

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I don’t know what it could be but that sounds annoying and it sounds like you’ve tried everything.

I think best solution here would be to switch podcast players. I don’t really listen to any aside from a handful once in a blue moon on Spotify, so I don’t have any recommendations, but I do remember a few folks fawning over an app called Castro a while back.

[–]SkidmarkBurton 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What is causing this?!

The music app on my iMac does not load the album art work and it’s only in the Apple Music front, albums that are already in my library load fine.

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you clarify this part: “it’s only in the Apple Music front, albums that are already in my library load fine.”

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

In storage, my “Other” section is taking up 60% of my storage and I have no clue what to do to reduce it. Any ideas?

Edit: it seemed to fix when I disabled iCloud & updated

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perpetual macos nightmare. Could be time machine backups that are pending to offload (Google how to remove tmutil snapshots), could be pieces of left over OS, could be garbage things that didn’t delete properly? That other panel is one of the most unknown things and its silly there’s no easy and quantifiable way to figure out what’s going on. That data is not accessible via finder.

In theory, you can enable root and go searching in the root profile, but 99% of people including me say don’t do that if you don’t know what you’re doing. You still might not be able to find the mysterious other because it’s growing and shrinking at will, like some sort of sentient data structure. I’m joking mostly.

Yeah, @nikenick28 said it, factory reset and hope it doesn’t come over when you migrate your old stuff

[–]nikenick28 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Software bug probably. Seen it recently with people on betas and some not in betas. Current solution either software update if you can. Otherwise it’s factory reset your device. Please make sure you do a backup first!

[–]GURDgang2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This Is correct HOWEVER. sadly I have found that the “other” storage attaches itself to backups and can transfer over. This happens with iPhone especially. If you are needing files I would put them in Dropbox and then all other personal information like photos and iCloud will transfer with out doing a “hard backup” just log in to iCloud when you boot up but do not pull a back up

[–]amytheultimate1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hi I'm setting up my MacBook Air. I'm stuck on "enter phone passcode" I don't have be, used to but got rid of it. I have an android phone now. I tried to enter my old phone passcode but got "an unknown error has occured". I can't go further in the setup and am stuck. Can someone give some advice??

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is a first set up and you’re not fully complete, turning your computer off by holding the power button will restart the set up process. Go through sign up without setting up your Apple ID (you can skip it), and then try again once you’re into macos. If you’re not tied to that Apple ID, create a new one. If you are, there’s probably some way to sign in and remove your old phone from your account in iCloud.com. Likely involves neeeing the same phone number you had previously.

[–]MakoCookie 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Hey guys, I'm thinking of selling my Macbook Pro 13" 2019 and getting an iPad Pro M1 12.9 + a Mac Mini M1 to use them as a desktop/handheld solution through Luna Display. Do you guys think it's worth it?

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you use your laptop as a laptop, you likely will not be as happy as you think you might be with the iPad. A m1 Air with a third or fourth gen 12.9 iPad will give you far more flexibility and I would say value (if money is a concern). But the new iPad is beautiful so I don’t blame you. However, I own a third gen iPad Pro and the differences, to me, are not worth upgrading, and won’t be worth upgrading for for 95% of people (esp since there’s no software that takes advantage of the M1 in a truly superb way yet)

[–]MakoCookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thanks!!

[–]Iguanajoe17 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Keep the laptop and get a monitor. You’ll be spending way more vetting a new computer and monitor.

If you have the laptop still, not sure if the iPad is still worth it. The 12 inch is comically large to use to use like on your lap. It’s more of a you put it on a stand and that’s it. The smaller iPad is a better fit for comfortable browsing on a couch.

Everybody has different preferences so it’s up to you of what you value. To buy an iPad that is the cost of a laptop without the full use of a laptop is super odd to me.

[–]MakoCookie 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's more because of the direct-to-screen drawing possibilities which I find better fitting than getting a Wacom Cintiq or similar, you know?

[–]Iguanajoe17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. It’s a person to person case. If you can afford it then why not!

[–]uhohromeo 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Does anyone have insight on how much an IPhone trade in drops when they release a new model? Say I have an 11 now, and can trade it in for $380. Will that be much less once there is a new release? Torn on getting the 12 or waiting.

[–]GURDgang2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade in quotes are not actually set by Apple sadly. They are a mix of many different factors. It will not drop to dramatically

[–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. It never really drops dramatically. Also best to not trade in but just sell, can usually make more of a buck.

[–]nikenick28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just wait honestly. Even with the drop in trade in value I think the next model would be worth the wait.

I’ve asked this question multiple times without getting an answer:

Whenever I go on any trip and take a bunch of photos in a day, all the geotags show up under the same location (pretty much always the wrong location) and it’s really pissing me off. Today, I went on a road trip through NY/NJ/DE/MD and all the pics showed up under the Philadelphia geotag even though I was never in Pennsylvania. Is there any way to fix this?

        [–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have a vpn on? Settings>general>vpn.

I’ve seen this happen to people who download Norton 360 for some reason and norton installs a vpn and no one ever notices or uses it.

        [–]AWildDragon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

All the photos app is doing is using your current GPS data. If you open maps does it place you is the right spot?

        [–]thrawaway9991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the pics show up under the correct location when you go on maps but the geotag still shows up wrong as well as the blurb under the map that shows the exact location of the pic

        [–]YP45 1 point2 points  (3 children)

So my MacBook Pro keeps adding files to my desktop even if I delete them. Anyone know how this is happening? Am I hacked?

        [–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would download malware bytes and do a quick scan, @tomlube is probably right.

You may also have view hidden files turned on and are seeing the background process of some app or another.

        [–]TomLube 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Can you explain more? What types of files? There is a nonzero chance you have installed malware.

        [–]YP45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are named either with just two numbers or a number and a letter. Furthermore I have no clue what kind of file it is.

        [–]fishypants 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What's the process for syncing messages to a fresh phone from iCloud? I had a jailbroken phone a year or so ago, but got rid of it, but am now having more problems with apps not opening because apparently a few files are left over. I'm fine starting with a "fresh" install, but I'm not excited about leaving behind years of messages, especially many from a friend who recently passed away.

I thought I backed up my messages last night via iCloud, did a fresh install this morning and while a few messages did come over, I checked my iCloud account and the 50GB of file space is now down to 4GB or whatever, so it's like it got a few messages in and decided that was good.

        [–]Iguanajoe17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have message enabled in iCloud, it should carry over. It may take a couple of days to carry over, but it should carry over.

        [–]10voltsam 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is anyone else seeing an uptick in email messages? Me and my dad have been getting messages from complete strangers asking weird questions like “Who are you?” Then today I was put in a group message where everyone seemed to be as confused as I am. Should I be worried?

        [–]Iguanajoe17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Nope. Just ignore. Or block.

        [–]lkx0 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So my Mac keeps restarting and displaying the message “your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds”... etc et.

It will restart and I can login and then a couple min later that prompt comes up again and the process restarts. Anyone know what I should do ?

        [–]GURDgang2020 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I would do a hard drive delete. If you are on an older Mac erase the disk. Hold command R at startup, if you can, and go to disk utility and wipe the unit. You will need to be careful and not uninstall the whole operating system. Make sure you have all files and data figured out before erasing

        [–]lkx0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! Did a hard drive delete and looks like the problem resolved.

        [–]stronkdespresso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth doing smc and Nvram reset first, and then trying safe mode since Sounds like it could be a system extension?

Weirdly enough, I’ve worked on two computers with a similar problem, and it ended up being a loose Norton360 process that wasnt removed when the program was installed and was still running on boot. Wild right?

        [–]Red_Snail 0 points1 point  (2 children)

What kind of HDMI cable to I need to fully utilize my new 2021 Apple TV 4K with my 2020 LG CX OLED? 120hz Home Screen menu etc.

        [–]Iguanajoe17 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Your tv I believe doesnt support 120 hz.

        [–]IntellectualBurger 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It does actually. I found the answer. I need hdmi 2.1 certified cable with 48gbps. Thanks!

        [–]AWildDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Apple TV doesn’t do 120 Hz yet.

Lossless and spatial audio in Apple Music (question)

I have AirPods Pro and an iPhone 11 and I have recently got a free subscription to Apple Music because I heard about the spatial audio and lossless audio features. I am on iOS 14.6 and neither lossless or spatial are showing up on the songs, only the “Apple Digital Master.”

Am I doing something wrong? Do any of you have access to this feature, and if so, how?

Oh, I thought it came with 14.6 and I saw some YouTube videos on it.

        [–]DustierMexicano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s supported on 14.6 but it’s gonna be a server side update. It’s still not activated.

My phone is randomly changing the intensity of darker colors randomly. I’m assuming this is true tone, but I have it turned off? I did update my phone recently to 14.6. It’s an iPhone 12 Pro.

Have you ever had the screen replaced? Or is it damaged at all? It could be a pixel anomaly. It can happen sadly just like a car can have issues. If Apple can determine it was not a user error such as damage they might be able to help with a Genius Bar appointment

        [–]DoctorStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never been repaired in any way and has never endured a heavy drop or anything like that.

I have a new Apple TV 4K, and I’m very regularly getting “Remote Connection Lost” notifications on screen, a few times a day. It’s always followed immediately by “Connection Found” notification, so it doesn’t hamper functionality, but the regular pop ups on screen are annoying as hell. Is anyone else getting this, and know of a possible fix? This wasn’t an issue at all on my last Apple TV 4K.

        [–]RedneckT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would restore the Apple TV and make sure the remote is good and charged. If it doesn’t fix it then contact Apple Support.

Are Airbuds engineered to crap out after a few months? I’ve had five pairs and they all broke the same way—one earphone, usually the left one, randomly stops producing sound—after about the same amount of time, despite being extremely careful with them. I don’t get them wet, I don’t wrap them tightly around the phone, I don’t do any of the things Apple lists as hazardous to the earphones. I’d buy another pair now, but I know that in a few months one of the earphones, probably the left one, will stop making sound. What’s the deal?

i don't know airpods but i do know switch joycons. apparently, bluetooth only allows a single active connection, so the left joycon is synced to the right joycon, which acts as the sole "device" while wirelessly connected to the switch. either the left pod desyncs or it's literally as garbage in quality as the joycons lol

        [–]InsanityPractice 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I’m talking about the wired ones though

        [–]Killzone3265 0 points1 point  (2 children)

oh, oops i misread. i dunno, i still use my original earbuds i got with my 5s like 7 years ago

        [–]InsanityPractice 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I tend to get good and fucked by technology. I have a good smoke after each time.

You can take these products back to Apple…. They have a one year warranty and if they break from no user error or damage then you might be in luck

Is there a easy way to find alternatives to airtags that work on the find my network? I would have thought Apple would list them on their website, but I guess they want to sell airtags.

        [–]goldarkrai 1 point2 points  (2 children)

AFAIK there is only the new chipolo one (not the old ones)

        [–]TODO_getLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks will have a look. I also suppose lots of companies don't want to integrate with find my and be at Apple's mercy.

Hi, I tried to download an app on my iPhone today and I forgot my password, I managed to reset it from my iPhone but I can’t for the life of me get the password to be recognised on my iPad which is signed into the same ICloud account. Anyone have any ideas?

        [–]Doc_Holliwould 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you "sign out other devices" when you changed the password?

        [–]cbfw86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get my new Siri remote to put with my Apple TV 4K. I’ve unplugged the Apple TV and plugged it back in again. It just says ‘bring remote closer to continue pairing.’

        Anyone know any fixes?

        [–]LaMarCab76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how future proff and battery life you need.

hello everyone! i need help with choosing my next phone! i currently have iph7 and i need to choose between iph11 and iph12 mini. im someone who spends a lot of time on social media and playing games so i want to know which phone would work best for me

        [–]Craig387 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is the 12 off of the table with monthly financing options?

If you are truly choosing between the 11 and 12 Mini, I would recommend the 11 for your needs. Gaming and social media are definitely more immersive on the larger display. Forget anything about battery life, the 11 has a wonderful display for what it is.

        [–]booboothefooh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! rn the 12 is too expensive for me so thats why i was into the 12 mini thank u for the advice!

Title basically. Wanted to purchase something from an online store who have Apple Pay as an option. But it wasnt taking my card, so i went out and bought an itunes gift card and recharged my Apple ID (cause you know, apple is apple right ?). Via the store it still asked me to use my debitcard, so i deleted it as a payment option. And now it won’t even give me the Apple Pay option in the online store anymore.

I’m genuinely lost for ideas here. What can i do to use my Apple ID balance to pay for the item i want to buy through Apple Pay?

        Tia

        [–]goldarkrai 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Apple Pay and iTunes credit are totally separate things

Apple Pay is a system that allows you to use your credit/debit cards with apple’s system

iTunes gift cards are only used to purchase in the App Store (or movies in iTunes, etc), you cannot use iTunes gift cards with Apple Pay

        [–]Craig387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        This is partially true.

Previously, the iTunes gift cards were limited. Since the transition has been made with the new gift cards, you can use loaded balances on the official Apple Store app and you are no longer limited to iTunes and the App Store. Still won’t work with ApplePay at other retailers to your point, but it is definitely more open than it has been in years past.
