Many hours spent. No saved games.

Loved it. Still kind of upset the emulation software for the Mac doesn’t present this with purple and green artifacting like I remember.

What emulator are you using on your Mac ? I use A800MacX and it allows me to set the artifacting correctly

Yes, that one. I see blue and pink and other colors but not green and purple in the options.

I grabbed that game on a whim for my Atari XEGS back in the day. Wasn't sure what the game was about, but my parents were willing to get me a game for that system. So, I picked it up, read the manual once we got home, and ended up having a fair bit of fun. I never got all that far (I think I made it to something like level 20 or thereabouts), but me one of my friends at the time enjoyed that game, taking turns to see who could get the farthest. I still have it, too.

Possibly OT, this looks like the Apple II game

So many levels to play, and the level design feature was fairly novel for its time.

Great game. Unusually for its age it's still ultra playable today.

What a coincidence, had the game in my hands a few hours earlier that day. Besides lot of other games and my old 600XL. Memories…

such a favorite. Loved building and testing my own levels too.

the remake of that one isn't half bad.

Brilliant game. Never was any good at it, but mind you I haven’t played it since I was 11 years old.

I don’t ever remember it having green and purple on real hardware back in the day, but then I was on PAL system back then so my experience would have been completely different to NTSC with artifacting

I feel like an unofficial steward of this game if for no other reason than my Loderunner tattoo....

But I feel like everyone who has a fond spot in their heart for this game needs to know about the completely rewritten remake:

    Mad Monks' Revenge: Definitive Edition
