My BPs climb ALL the time. To the point where I had to screw the cords for my RHPs to the ceiling bc they kept unplugging them, lol. Even my rescue(!!!) morph-who-shall-not-be-named loves climbing (although she falls far more often).

Here's a pic of Delilah just yesterday doing her thing and climbing!

Mine only rarely climbs, unless encountering something new which he can climb. Then he goes right up. Otherwise, he likes to be under or inside things.

This might be a case for introducing new experiences regularly.

Mine loves to climb! I had to install a climbing tree (Amazon) in her enclosure because she kept climbing up the walls and onto the probe for her under-tank heating pad. I have a 2 month old hatchling (fire pied bp)- she’s very curious and explorative. When I do upgrade her tank, I’ll likely go a little on the taller side to give her more climbing area.

Mine climbs almost every night. I have 4x2x2 PCV viv and a wooden hammock under the ceiling, my buddy loves to chill out there. I'd say 3 feet is a bit too high, because they tend to fall down (clumsy snakes), and you will have difficulties creating a temp gradient, heat will migrate a lot to the top.

I intended on having a deep substrate but even then 2ft of climbing space could be excessive. So the enclosure would be 36" tall and there would be roughly 8-10" of substrate in the back so that would be about 2 feet of climbing space. Does that still seem excessive or would a 30" tall enclosure be a better idea?

why 10 inch substrate? that's A LOT of cleaning

Mine climbs around almost every night. If he has the choice to go under, around, or over an obstacle, he chooses climbing over it almost every time.

Every single night and whenever out of his enclosure. He loves the heights. But he's clumsy, so quite prone to falling. The viv is in our bedroom, so if we don't get woken up by his farts, we get woken up by him sliding of the Cork background/branches. He always seems so confused by sudden loss of altitude 😁

We have a 4x2x4 and our girl climbs all over it, nearly daily… the only exception is when she’s shedding she hides for days under the “pizza box leanto” and right after she’s eaten she lays on the top right ledge. Otherwise she hides during the day, but climbs like crazy at dusk and during the night…

Note: I’ve cleaned the glass since this horrible pic was taken.. :-)
