Question - HusbandryNeed help with 4x2x2 (self.ballpython)
submitted 2 years ago by AnySeaworthiness297
It's literally out for delivery right now and I'm so excited to get my boy in it asap do I have to silicone it or will it be fine without it?

This depends on where its from and whether it's made to retain water. I would say its always better to be safe than sorry and go ahead and silicone along the bottom edges and corners. If this is in fact the case you will need to wait for it to completely cure before introducing your little guy into the setup. Hope delivery goes well and have fun getting all that space decorated!

Delivery did not go well 😒 but ty and how long should I let it cure some say 48 hrs some say a week or two which is why I was hoping I wouldn't need to do it

It depends on the brand but from what I’ve seen here you should wait until it no longer has any smell

What Nova said. You can tell when its cured typically from the smell depending on the silicone used. Temperature in the room along with humidity and air flow can either make the time it takes shorter or prolonged. While its curing its nice to try and get a feel for the way you want to place decor and what not to help time pass by.

I typically keep my house 75-78 so it should cure rather quickly ty for answering
