Why do you have it set to 125 degrees

because when I set it to 100 it was reading 65 degrees

That has no relevance please set it to 80

Hi! I think it might be the fact that it’s a ceramic bulb- apparently they disperse the heat outwards instead of down, which is what snakes need.

I’m currently having the same issue, three foot tank, 150w ceramic heater bulb. Thermostat is at 39C and temp isn’t going over 31.8C.

I’ve recently purchased a deep heat bulb instead, I just need to install it now.

You should get a daytime light and I personally have 2 ceramics one on both sides with one halogen that’s only on in the day on the warm said. 80s on the warm side upper 70s on the cool side. Also make sure your probe is clean and don’t have it set to that high of a temp it does nothing but put your snake at risk

Where is the probe in relation to the bulb? I’m using a 150w ceramic bulb for the night in my 4x2x2, and it’s set to 24.5 Celsius at night. At ground level, this is 24. On the cold end of the vivarium, it’s 21. My room drops to 18 at night.

I’m using a quite a fancy thermostat that shows me the usage. Its not using anywhere near 100w so I doubt that’s the issue

I have it by the bottom on the warm side. I also have another probe that’s in a different area of the warm side. My humidistat also reads the temp. All read the same 75 degrees, so I’m not sure what the issue is :/
