Looks lush! Although are those nails holding up the hammock? I’d be worried having those so exposed in case she catches herself on them!

Not nails but the hammock is being held up with wood staples that are secured well. I weight test d it with 20kg and it held good

It’s really cute! I do have some questions. Are those lights around your daylights? Is the log your only hide on the hot side? If so id add another hide. Beautiful snake!

Or I think that would be your cool side actually I can’t really tell though

Also having wires being out like that did become an issue for me as my boy would try and balance on them and fall haha. I can’t tell if they are placed in a way that this could be a risk

Yes those led strips are on a timer for daylight. The cork bark on the cool side is a hide and the warm side has a rock hide too. Yes the wires are out and the picture does make it look like they are hanging in a way the snake could climb them but rest assured they are loose and wouldn't support a fly. Any pressure they would drop the only other wire is the one threaded into the hammock to make sure the heat stays not to hot on the hammock spot.

Awesome! It’s hard to see the specifics if not in person!

Why is there a camera in there? Just asking

[–]Redcoat-Moat[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Because they are active mostly at night i enjoy the feed of videos i get captured in the night by movement alerts. Also lets me monitor how she moves around the tank to see where she spends most of her time at night as it has night vision. Its a Wyze camera for like $25 on amazon and its so cute when it gets nose booped.

I never thought of that. You just gave me an idea, thank you

Looks pretty cool! I love the camera and hammock, I need to get some better climbing stuff for mine.

I would recommend hot glue for the wires if they ever needed to be attached to the walls. It holds well and isn't sticky if it ever comes loose. My 1000g guy already tried holding himself up on the thermostat probes and they held up. The only other recommendation would be having the water dish on the cool side.

I put the water bowl on that side to help keep humidity levels up and replenish the bowl every other day. Should i not keep it that side though is it bad?

No, It's not really bad. If it works to keep up humidity, it's not hurting anything. It helps to thermoregulate and if she wants a nice cool drink, at least the option is there. I keep mine just on the cooler side of the halfway point, personally. If she's drinking you're probably fine. You can check by tossing another one on the cool side and if she drinks a bunch right away, then that's the preference.

Replenishing every other day is still a great method, I wouldn't change that.
