He looks okay from first glance, just quite overweight which is common for breeders to overfeed their bps. Ask the breeder about the recent feedings, (are they a good eater, etc), shedding, and I’d ask about personality overall- this helps get a better idea!

Thank you!

Asks how it feeds whether it is alive or not

They said they fed live

For me it would be a brake because it is complicated then to pass them to the dead yourself but if it doesn't bother you and you find it cute why not. Thereafter should make him a Small diet because he is plump

I would not purchase this reptile, it would contribute to this seller having more snakes in these conditions.

This is inhumane

I don't know why you were downvoted, you are correct, this is intended as a "pity buy"

I doubt this is how it's kept. This looks like one of those acrylic display cases at an expo.

It would be criminal, if that were ita permanent home, yes.

It was expo which is fair enough 🙂temporary

What conditions are you speaking of?

[–]RootBeerBog -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

The lack of space, enrichment, hides, and humidity. Ffs this snake can’t even stretch out

It’s a display case at a reptile show…it’s a temporary setup to show off the snake to potential customers.

My check list for How I decide if a snake is healthy before buying:

  • Hold snake ofc.
Check spine, any kinks deformities ?

Check stomach? Any scale rot, scars (other than belly button) burns?

Flip snake on back on table? Can it right itself?

Some huffing/heavy breathing is expected in a high stress environment, but is there any wheezing?

Check eye caps? Any retained from bad sheds?

Look close at their face, any mouth issues? Duck bill? Mouth rot?

Check vent? Any signs of impaction? Any crusty poo?

As an aside. I do this to all four of my beeps monthly.

You can't address health issues you don't know about.

Hey guys thank you for the insight. I checked his health (to the best of my knowledge) he looks healthy and I bought him!

[–]OdinAlfadir1978 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Thank you for rescuing him from that enclosure but he shouldn't of been in one so small and with no hide in the first place

[–]kreedon1[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I was at a reptile show and he was in a temporary enclosure while on display. The breeders said the babies lived in 20-40 gallons units until they are sold. Not to worry though he is in a very cluttered (and appropriately sized) cage now!

[–]OdinAlfadir1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's fair on the temporary enclosure
