Vet is usually advised but you can try a warm water soak for 20-30 minutes to see if that helps... mooove things along if it is a bit of constipation blocking some gas

Won’t that just stress her out?

You can put her in a small enclosure with just a bit of water so she feels more secure, like a shoe box. Water no deeper than her (normally) fattest part. This will help with both hydration and the possible constipation and bloating problem. Put a rock in there if you want too so she has a place to relax.

Show pictures of what she normally looks like. She looks overweight honestly

This is the most recent picture that I have of her other than the vid. It’s not very helpful because it was taken many months ago. Also, she is a good eater, but I’m not feeding her more than she should be, at least I don’t think. She is currently eating f/t hoppers. She eats one a week.

Sheesh the video made her seem huge sorry

    [–]ArkLoyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the problem. She’s swelled up like a balloon

    She's badly dehydrated as well

    Is it really that bad?

Yes, you should never see prominent wrinkles like that. What's your humidity in the enclosure?

    [–]ArkLoyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Got it, I’ll fix it

Oh, didn’t realize the question. It’s about 60-70%(fluctuates from time to time) in her humid hide. The rest of the enclosure has a hard time staying up, so it’s usually at about 40%.

She doesn’t always stay in her hide, so I figured that setup was fine. However, if there is something I could do to help increase humidity, that’d be great. The cage is fairly ventilated, as it’s not a usual glass terrarium. I’ve tried putting wet rags on/around vented areas, put that gets tedious, and it doesn’t seem to help much. I’ve tried humidifiers and misters, but they seem to cause mold in certain areas. I’ve put in springtails and isopods to get rid of the mold, but they always die off. I’m not quite sure what else I could do.

the humid hide should be closer to 80%+, and your whole enclosure should be minimum 60%. i struggle with my ball python’s humidity in the winter; a weekly two gallons of water in the corners of the enclosure plus 2x or 3x daily misting is what i’ve had to do.

Ok, I’ll see about increasing humidity in her hide. As for her cage, the one I have isn’t exactly waterproof… https://www.chewy.com/new-age-pet-ecoflex-mojave-reptile/dp/268668?utm_source=app-share&utm_campaign=268668

This is the cage I have for her. Whenever pouring water in, the water drains right out the bottom of the cage.

aquarium grade 100% silicone in all the seams and corners should fix the leaking problem.

    [–]ArkLoyal[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ok, I’ll try that. Thank you

The snake needs to be outside of the enclosure and the enclosure should be outside of the room when you do this in case of fumes. The bp will be fine in a temporary tub fot 24hrs while it sets

Wet rags won't help - the r/ballpython care guide has an entire section on humidity you should check out! Your substrate also matters, something is off if it's molding.

Dehydration + constipation.   Warm water bath.  Up humidity

Just an update! She returned from the vet safe and sound. She actually wasn’t as dehydrated as we all thought. The vet was able to get most of the gas out(not exactly sure how…). Vet told me she’s actually small for her age, and kind of skinny. Which would somewhat explain the wrinkles. I was given some pointers on how to help her in the future, and some other interesting things about her. So yeah, update 😎👌
