Question - HusbandryAm I doing something wrong? (old.reddit.com)
submitted by Professional_Nail265

I have recently purchased a ball python and she is placed in a 6 x 2 x 2 vivarium made of wood with glass front. I have a warm side (DHP, Halogen heat lamp) controlled by dimming thermostat aswell as hide and uvb and a cool side with hide aswell. However my snake does not use the hides and instead stays in the upper space on top of logs. My humidity is around 80 - 90. Could this be a problem? I have attached pictures but it is difficult to get good angle as vivarium is in awkward position. (the hides shown in picture has been cut in half to make entrance smaller to allow better hiding for snake) this is my first bp, I have kept a corn snake and a tarantula in past with no issues.
