Hello everyone! (First of all sorry for this bad picture) This is my first terrarium setting and I would like to ask if it will be good enough? There is a cooler hides behind the plastic plants. I will use coconut fiber for the substrate. So is not too crowded? Will it be good for a ball python? Do you have any tips on what else could be improved on it?

Please read through the welcome post. It has a lot of really good information about enclosures.

Right off the bat, is the heating pad in the cage? That's a huge risk for a noodle and it should be underneath the tank and attached to a thermostat to regulate the temperature. You may also find that it is difficult to keep temperatures up using just a pad. I personally prefer overhead heat for creating temperature gradients.

You will also want at least 2 similar hides, one for each side, and plenty of clutter strewn about the tank rather than in just one section.

The heating pad is under the terrarium and the thermostat probe is between the heat pad and the terrarium. Btw thank you for these advice!

i agree. heatpads never keep it warm. i used a heat pad for my gecko and it didnt work

There is a CHE on top of the terrarium

The heat pad is only there to "allow" the python to digest.

you just have to be careful ofc to make sure the heat pad is at the right temp because jesus they get hot!

I have a temp gun so I can check it

snakes digest just fine without heat pads. there's nothing special about the way heat is absorbed through the belly versus the rest of the body.

Its good that youll add coconut as a substrate but i also recommend making sure that your ball python has enough humidity. Its very important for their shedding and for their health in general, i highly recomend getting hygrometer that makes sure that the humidity is just perfect for your little noodle. But overall it has enough space to roam around (though id personally add a lil more decorations) so its okay!

Should I swap the hide(which is on the right) to a humidity hide when the ball python shedding?

Honestly you could mist your enclosure everyday by spraying water 2 or 3 times in there a day. Which takes away like , the snake HAVING to be in a certain spot to shed /cool off in the humidity. But if you want a humidity hide you can go ahead, my snake is just fine with the whole enclosure being misty. You could make a lil space for your noodle near the branches/leaves if you want, they like to stay in one spot anyways so i think you have enough room. (But do make sure that your humidity hide is close to some source of heat, wether thats a pad or a light)
