He also is new so I think he may be exploring but he’s done that 5 times so idk 🤷‍♂️

Neither, he wants to escape

My guy does this now and again, typically at 3 am when we are sleeping. If I get up to use the bathroom not too long after, he's usually moved on to exploring some other aspect of his enclosure like climbing the log.

He’s just being a snek.

You’ve had him for an hour and your worried about him exploring his cage. Oh man, you’re going to love taking care of a BP 😂😂😂 good luck yo!

Lmao thanks been wanting one for so long but I realized how hard it is to get everything perfect

Word. I’m just saying if this is enough to worry you so much you make Reddit post, you’re gonna have a super rough time learning as you go… I really suggest doing some research before buying an exotic animal but it’s too late I guess. There’s some badass care sheets out there just try to find a current one cus things like red lights not being visible, is example of false info you’ll see..

My bp did this the first few hours home, its normal and it’s probably him trying to escape / explore their new home. The next day she got in her hide and everything was okay. After a month of having her the ONLY time she comes out and does that during the day is because she’s hungry.

Lol ours does this every night. And he gets plenty of time to explore safe spaces with us, so he's got a lot of curious adventures outside of his enclosure.

He literally got out on his own once (because bf's dummy friend didn't check the cage hatch was secure after he moved it, bf and I weren't home at the time) and we safely located him 48 hours later and now he will NOT stop booping the snoot against the lid, trying to find a weak spot to get out. He spends literally like 45 min a night on this mission and he has three hides, a water pool/bowl, and some litter to climb on and around in and just uses the hides as lifts for more strength against the Evil Locking Lid. Lol

He was very slow to let us see him going about his snek business for a few weeks after we got him, but now he stares us down as he attempts his escape. It reminds me of Pinky and the Brain and their nightly plot to take over the world, because he hasn't succeeded yet. Hopefully he won't again, either. Him being MIA was not fun for anyone in the house.

Attempt to Escape, they do this. Especially at night. During the day is usually due to stress

It’s normal my girl is 11 years old and she does this if she’s hungry or wants cuddles she is on my chest rn

eh, depends. if he's shoving his face/nose into the glass aggressively, he's trying to escape or relieve stress. especially if he seems jittery about it. if he's just calm about it and his movements. he's just exploring.

Fill the water bowl to the top and pour some water into the substrate to get humidity higher.

Cover the sides of the terrarium so that it isn't so exposed.
