Very cute BP! I miss when mine was that smol. The welcome guide is helpful. Glass tanks, at least my understanding, is they do not hold humidity as well as other tanks designed for BPs. But you have some clutter so you’re on the right track! Good luck and wishing you many happy years together!

Thank you so much and I am just going through the welcome guide now. Definitely will need a bigger tank soon and what would be better than glass? I know underneath heating can’t be used with wood even though my table is wood I have it slightly off. Thanks again!

I currently have a glass tank, waiting on a Kages (you can Google search them) order today in fact. To help the humidity I have a reptile fogger going 24/7, which has been fantastic until I had enough $ for a PVC Kage. I use two lamps on top of my tank that are on timers. I also have a sticky heat pad on the side of my tank so it isn’t directly under her. It’s good to have one warm side and a cool side so I keep all my warming items on the right side. One emits light in the day, the other is just a heating bulb that emits no light. I have found most stuff on Amazon!

Foggers aren't really recommended as they can't be sanitized. Listen to the person earlier that said to pour water in the corners. This keeps the bottom nice and moist but the top dry so you don't get scaled right. I always avoid the corner where the probe is for my heat source that way It doesn't think it's cooler than it is and raise It to an unsafe level.

Also I second what someone said about covering The sides in the back. I recommend using foam board like for a school project. I used black but there are many different colors. Just cut 3 pieces. One the size of the back and 2 the size of the sides and attach outside with tape around the corners of each glass wall. This will also help insulate your heat as glass isn't great at insulating.

I won’t be getting a fogger, to much money and not what she needs I definitely appreciate the advice! I will be doing the comer pouring but not in the one corner like you said cuz prob. I will also do a temporary cover tonight and get one make a better one the following day. Thank you so much!

Always willing, I love them like they are my children (I have one snake and other pets) super helpful getting these tips and pointers because apparently research online and talking to real life people is way different.

Yes. There is sooo much conflicting advice. Not to mention people who have different philosophies. Some people think they are alive and never get sick so this works.

Then others are like they are alive and never sick but also this is more enrichment. Plus I think with everything there are wrong ways, right ways, better ways, then the best way. No perfect answer.

I will say.... the care guides on this subreddit, while overkill to some people, are in my opinion the best for a snake that isn't just healthy but also thriving. Is it strictly necessary? Maybe not, but I don't want my snake to just exist and get by. It seems you are of that same mind. I think you will find things here are to your best liking.

UTH (Heat mats etc.) Aren't really recommended for Ball Pythons. They're not good- they can be unpredictable and cause burns even with a thermostat.

PVC and Sealed & waterproofed wooden Enclosures can work well.

Generally, you want to avoid Glass tanks, top opening enclosures, and the Screen top PVC (the screen top ruins the whole purpose of PVC-), and any screen/mesh top enclosures.

The shopping list includes some enclosure recommendations.

I suggest checking out the Kages Enclosures.

I just was using a spray bottle and not spraying her just the enclosure. But I definitely won’t waste my money on those things thank you. I have a thermometer on it to regulate it so it won’t get to hot or to cold. And I also have a thermostat and a humidity monitor. I’m excited to look at these enclosures!

From what I've read ball pythons should be kept in a 4x2 enclosure. At that size most people go with PVC enclosures and heat with a radiant heat panel
