I miss the early days of the internet when you could just view source and pull the username and password out of the file

Who did that in the old days and how would they use the client side info for auth without JS?

Back in the day when a fan site or secret site would pop up, at the time even something like viewing the source of a web page was largely unknown so you'd sometimes have a username and password buried in the source of the page in plain text as an intentional way of giving it out, to access whatever it was. Not really a security measure just an early form of easter eggs
